This derma roller is designed with 540 ultrafine 0.3mm painless needles, which is made of sterilised surgical grade Stainless Steel. It is perfect to use at home to help boost collagen to achieve firm, plump and radiant skin.

Microneedling is a skin treatment, not ingredient-based, which uses your body’s most natural response and reactions to repair and promote healthy skin.

Microneedling creates micro-channels on the skin, which in turn triggers collagen production to compensate the skin as it rejuvenates. In addition, it also helps improves the absorption and efficiency of your skincare.

Regular usage reduces the appearance of skin imperfections, including scarring, enlarged pores and stretched marks. Simply incorporate as part of your night-time routine to help enhance the performance of actives in your favourite skincare products.

Tingly but good

I feel I need a little more time to give the best review with this product however I have noticed my night serums appear to be absorbing better. Online tips advise it can take around 3 months to start seeing proper results so I am really looking forward to seeing the long term effects.

I am using the roller 3 times a week, first time my skin went a glowing red but I have noticed with more use it doesn’t glow as red.

First night it felt like a slight sunburnt tingly feeling, which was gone by the time I woke and I haven’t had the same tingly feeling with more use.

I am booked for deeper microneedling session with my dermatologist so I look forward to using the Manicare Microneedle Derma Roller as good in between maintenance.

Tips: Painless and you don’t need to push hard. Ensure you have a good skin routine for afterwards with serums ie hyaluronic acid and moisturiser.

Manicure derma roller

I used it every night, after doing the Chris cross and up down pattern I think put on HA serum, in the morning my skin looked plumper, as the week went on just looked better and better. The cleaner that came with the roller has a lovely smell, gave my roller good spray after each use and popped it back in secure case. No pain with the roller as it’s not going deep into skin, just make sure you have cleaned your skin free of makeup and creams before hand

Tips: Can also use on neck and chest, I also did the backs of my hands at the same time, great for getting good products into the skin

Not that impressed

I got to trial the Manicare Microneedle Derma roller, it came with a hard plastic clear storage box which was easy to find on my slightly overcrowded dressing table!. Instructions said to use it a maximum of 3 times a week which I did, it feel like a tiny cactus prickle going over your skin, it's not painful, but it is a weird sensation. I used it at night, before I moisturised, and had no reaction to it. I box says it was to boost collagen, firm, plump & brighten skin. which was important to me as I am in my 40's now with early signs of aging, however, after 3 1/2 weeks of using this product, I haven't noticed a single difference in my skin appearance. I asked my daughter and my best friend if they noticed any difference and they both said 'no'.. So to me, this tool I liken to a meat tenderizer or a lawn aerator, I see it as an unnecessary beauty tool, that I could most definitely go without having. Would I use it again?, probably not. would I recommend it to a friend? not this time.

Tips: Make sure you use a high SPF sun screen in the day. I really needed it. and be sure to use the cleaner provided with it, to clean it each time

Time will tell

I am up for trialling most things but had a minor panic attack when I found out I was selected. I had googled microneedling and saw some pretty disturbing images.

So, I was very cautious with my first use. The roller has a sleek easy to hold design.

The process is quite simple.  You just roll over your face gently in different directions (as shown on the back of the box) and sterilise the roller after use.  You don't put any pressure on the roller...use the weight of the roller as your guide. As your confidence grows, you will become more relaxed with usage.

I didn't find it painful however my face did sting a little after use and felt a bit like a mild sunburn. This subsided within a few hours.  The needles are quite short and do not cause any bleeding or go particularly deep into the skin. Micro-needling (a.k.a, collagen induction therapy), uses these needles to create thousands of micro-punctures in the skin. I couldn't see them with the naked eye. This process triggers a natural wound-healing response that involves a dramatic increase in production of collagen and elastin in the skin.

After you have rolled, be careful with what sort of skincare you use after treatment with the derma roller. Stay away from anything with actives (AHAs, BHAs, retinoids) as it can be too harsh for your then sensitive skin. I used a rosehip oil, which seemed to be absorbed quickly.

I haven't had any adverse reactions from using the microneedling derma roller but also haven't seen impressive results yet. I will continue using the product for another four weeks in hope I will see increased dermal thickness and firmness, improved skin texture, reduction in the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, and a refinement of pores (which is my major reason for trying this product).

I'm not sure if sold with the cleaner spray. This was supplied with the product I trialled and I used the cleaner after each treatment. It would be good if they were sold as a bundle, as I believe this is a very important step to reduce any possible bacteria.

I would recommend purchasing the Manicare Microneedling Derma Roller as an alternative to expensive salon skin treatments.

Tips: Don't expect instant results.

Very Impressed!

I was so excited to trial derma roller & I am very very impressed with how it went. As a former beauty therapist I’ve used the Dermapen on all my clients. It’s a very expensive treatment that I certainly can’t afford now that I’m no longer working in the industry & I was hopeful that this roller would provide some benefits that were noticeable.

I’m please to say that it has! It has very short 0.3mm needles which I’m overjoyed about as anything longer can be damaging if not used correctly. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t prep the skin and apply caution when using, but the chance of injury is considerably smaller.

Needles this small are brilliant for encouraging the production of collagen and for leaving the skin glowing and firm. They can also assist with pigmentation but this will require a lot more time. For deep acne scars I wouldn’t recommend it but surface scars will show change after long term use.

The needles are very very sharp which is amazing as you really don’t need to apply any pressure which also minimises the risk of accidental injury. As for the pain factor - it is uncomfortable while using but it’s certainly not unbearable! The after affects feel a lot like a hot sunburn and the skin can become quite red. Definitely use in the evening and ALWAYS wear sunscreen as the skin is far more sensitive the following day.

Overall I’m really impressed with the Manicare Derma Roller and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve the quality, texture & appearance of their skin!

Tips: Roll gently, take your time & never forget your sunblock!
