Mixed Feelings

So I was really excited to use this moisturiser because I've been looking for a day moisturiser for ages now. I have slightly dry skin so anything that keeps my face moisturised during the day is good for me. I liked that there was no intense scent of the actual product. It has a thin consistency but not watery at all and I used about 1 and half pumps every morning. After the first few days I realised that it did keep my face moisturised throughout the day which is awesome but it did not have a greasy feeling at all. However, after a week of using it, i noticed that I was getting slightly raised bumps on my forehead which is very unusual for me. They were not pimples, they were deeper in my skin and made it look like I had texture on my forehead. I decided to stop using it for a few days to see if it would disappear and it did! Even though this happened to me, it may work very differently on someone else. I have found that with my skin, the less I use on it, the better my skin is. So unfortunately I will be sticking to my old moisturiser for now until something better comes along.

Tips: With any skincare, its important to look at a lot of reviews from people with different skin types so you can judge how it might work for you.

Good, but expensive

I received this product as part of a Trial Team.

This product claims to provide long-lasting hydration while protecting the skin from signs of ageing.

The moisturiser is easy to spread on the skin and has a light floral scent. It provided a good amount of moisture for my normal/dry skin, though I do use a hydrating serum underneath. It did not emphasise any dry flakes like some sunscreens do, and it left my skin feeling supple and not greasy. It worked well under makeup and did not sting my eyes. It did not leave any white cast.

The pump dispenser is a bit iffy at times and the twist-close mechanism came apart a few times so I just keep it in the open position. I do like that it is an airless pump, which preserves the product.

I would like to see this product with a higher SPF rating.

Although I enjoyed testing this product I have found another product that offers the same benefits with a higher SPF rating and much lower price point, hence I will not purchase this product myself.

If you enjoy a little bit of luxury in your skincare routine I would definitely recommend this moisturiser.

Dr LeWinns Light Day Moisturiser SPF

Beautiful white and pinkish decorated with silver package arrived, easy directions on how to apply on the back of the packaging and the actual product. Very surprised at the actual bottle - nice size that fitted easily in my hand. Great invention with a twisting silverish top that opens and closes the moisturiser.

Following morning I carefully followed the instructions and cleaned and toned before applying the moisturiser. Very surprised at the creamy consistency that was easily squirting from the pump. A very nice smell (normally i dont like perfumed products) Not overwhelming just a little hint that complimented the packaging.

Easy to apply, especially right after toning. Went on easily with no sticky feeling to it at all. Absorb instantly and did not have to wait before applying my makeup. Really easy to use and love the SPF (although a higher SPF would have been great)

Love that you can easily close it and use for traveling - it really fits into my handbag or overnight bag and no fear of spills.

Found that although its a light moisturiser the hydration format was great and face felt great. Will definitely continue with this product and purchase again. Will also replace my night moisturiser and serum with this brand once I run out of the current.

Overall a great little product - really appreciate it making my life easier

Will definitely recommend to anyone

Tips: Definitely follow the instructions for best results Easy to splurt onto back of hand and lightly spread across your face and neck for easy application

Hello Hydration

I have always wanted to try a product by Dr LeWinns. I have heard so many positive things about this brand and the packaging always looks so nice and sophisticated.

To give you a really accurate review of this higher end skincare product I will give you a quick background of my skin: My skin has changed dramatically since having my daughter 9 months ago. Thos pesky hormones right. Now days my skin is so dry and I have episodes of super dry, flakey, eczema/rash. I normally just refer to it as severe irritation that I cant wear makeup for a week.

Every skincare product I have tried over the past 9 months has done nothing or made my skin worse.

I was so excited when I recieved the invite to trial this Dr LeWinns Day Cream Moisturiser.

I have trialed this for a couple of weeks now and I can honestly say it has made a 100% in my skin for the better. It is very lightweight and it rubs in very well and almost makes my face and neck feel like velvet. And after the application my makeup slides on very smoothly over the top. Instantly hydrated and my skin stays hydrated to the end of the day! I can safely say that I have never found a moisturiser that has done this. I personally believe that they have got this formula spot on!

During my trial I did have one of my skin "episodes" and my skin started to blister and peel around my nose, mouth, chin and forehead. At first the moisturiser stung a little bit (BUT everything i applied stung) and by the second day it was starting to clear up slowly due to my skin holding the moisture from the product which I found fantastic!

I love the fact that it has SPF 15. I used this with a foundation that has SPF 20 and it protected me from the sun.

As for the packaging, I love how gorgeous and sophisticated it is! And the fact that you twist it up and down to access the product. I love it! No more caps or squeezing to get product out. This causes less waste. And as for the pump: I have had no problems at all with it.

I personally recommend this moisturiser. Its amazing and will change your skin.

So so

To be honest I have mixed feelings about this moisturizer. I was stoked when it arrived as it has such beautiful packaging and I had high expectations for it.

My skin type is normal with a slightly oily nose particularly when the weather is hot. So I thought this moisturizer would be perfect for me.

I have tried it on its own and also underneath my make up. Make up applies nicely over it but I did find myself going shiny much quicker than my other moisturizer which was disappointing. When worn alone I also find myself shiny after a few hours. This was disappointing as it feels so light when going on and adsorbs in super quickly.

I do wonder if it would leave me less shiny in winter when my skin is dryer then it is currently. I am going to keep try using it to see if things get better or not.

Tips: The trick to getting the product out is to twist the silver section on the bottle. This will lower the pink plastic and allow the pump to be unlocked.

Dr LeWinn's Light Day Moisturiser SPF

I received this product to trial from Beauty Review and have been using it for about three weeks. Before I review the product itself, can we just take a moment to admire the genius of the pump? Whoever invented this deserves a medal. Rather than a flip up lid or separate pull off cap, all you need to do to enable the pump is turn the silver band to the left and the coral pink band above drops to make the pump operable. To lock, turn the silver band anti-clockwise and the coral band locks upwards and the pump won't work. Fantastic for travelling and for preventing spillage, leakage or the product drying up. Anywho, the actual product is a light off white cream and two small pumps give enough for full face coverage, meaning the 50ml will probably last a long time. It applies white like a sunscreen and needs to be massaged in a bit for proper absorption. Rather than than being primarily a moisturiser, I consider this to be a facial sunscreen with some moisturising properties. The cream has the look and feel of sunscreen and that's how I've used it. On the box it says "for optimal results, apply when the skin is still damp" and I found that is absolutely the best way to go. Applying to dry skin needs more product to get proper coverage and it can then feel a bit oily. Applied straight after showering you use less and it absorbs better and gives more and longer mosturisation. Although a good product, it's by no means the best I've tried; other moisturisers perform better at a lower price (e.g. Andalou, Nivea, Neutrogena). The cream has a very classy understated floral scent which does set it above some of the cheaper products though, and the scent fades quickly, which I like.

Tips: Apply straight out of the shower when your face is still moist for best results.

Dr LeWinns Light Day Moisturiser SPF

My skin type is combination. Oily T Zone but normal to dry cheeks. I would normally gravitate towards a lighter moisturiser during these watmer months. This product claims to be a "light-weight, non-greasy day cream that offers instant and non‐stop hydration with SPF15 protection." Does as it claims there but then it also claims that this boosts cell renewal and addresses the signs of aging. In the short time I have trialled this product I haven't noticed any of my finer lines fading or any dramatic change in my overall appearance. I am at an age now where I have been told I need to start using anti aging products because prevention is the best cure but I feel like this product didn't give me any added benefits to my daily routines. Packaging is a bonus though. Love the pump and also the sleekness of the bottle. No product wastage as you only take out what you need. Have been using this product for 2 weeks straight now and itnis still well over half full. Scent is a slight issue initially but that fades as the day goes on. Wouldn't repurchase as I feel some of the cheaper products on the market today give my skin more benefits :)

Lovely, Light Day Cream

I've been wanting to try this product for a while now, but just hadn't gotten around to it, so I was very pleased when I was selected to do a review. The packaging is good, as I like to see products which don't put extra plastic wrapping around the box or use a huge box for a tiny bottle. The tube itself is about the same size as the box it comes in, which is great. It's a pump type dispenser and it's easy to squirt out a small amount of the cream. The cream has a very light, pleasant scent which is nice and it was easy to apply. It made my skin look a little shiny but it certainly didn't feel greasy at all. It just had a nice, healthy looking glow. I like the fact that it also has a sun protection in it, but I personally like an SPF on my face stronger than 15, but that's just a personal preference as I tend to keep the sun off my face at all cost. I do think the best "beauty secret" is to wear at least an SPF of 30 and to wear a hat, if you're going to be in the sun for anything more than just 5 minutes. I do feel that my skin looks better after using this product for a few weeks. I would use it again and would also recommend it. One thing to note is that is does have Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate) which it claims will encourage cell renewal and address the visible signs of ageing. It's also an ingredient which some people may find too harsh for their skin, but I had no reaction to it at all.

Tips: Because it has vitamin a (retinyl), you must keep your face out of the sun when you're using any product with retinyl. Make sure you wear a hat when you're using retinyl as it can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

I love it and want more

I loved this moisturizer. I was lucky enough to receive it a day before I went away to the Gold Coast for 10 days so was able to really give it a good trial in the 30 degree weather we were experiencing daily. I love how light it is and the scent. Its got a strong perfume scent of what I think is honeysuckle so if you don't like perfumed moisturizers then this is probably a no, I personally love it. As mentioned it's very light and definitely not sticky. The packaging is beautiful and has a twist opening that can be done with one hand so perfect when I have my baby in my other hand. It blends out nicely and doesn't leave a white layer on your skin. The price is abit on the high side for a daily cream but once I'm off the 'mama income' I'll totally be repurchasing this. My skin has been up and down since having my baby but found this really helped my dryness and really leaves my skin well hydrated for the day. I hope they make a night version of this.

Definitely recommend this product

Tips: I've found its actually a beautiful makeup primer and gives my makeup a beautiful natural glow and haven't noticed any flashback even though it has a SPF in it.
