Lush Rock Star Soap Review

Vanilla candy soap for rock stars

There’s nothing hard rock or heavy metal about this soap. We’re serious about soap, but not too serious not to love our pink sudser. It’s unabashedly a best-selling pop hit that everyone, boys and girls, can’t wait to get their hands on. While you may object otherwise, once you try our pink, vanilla-scented cream soap you’ll be singing a different tune. Scented with real vanilla (the gorgeous stuff that comes from pods, not labs), and decorated with soap stars embedded inside you’ll want to give Rock Star a regular rotation in the soap dish.

A Lush Rockstar

I can never really decide how I feel about Lush's rock star soap. I love the colour and it works well as a soap (ie it cleans) but there is something missing in the fragrance for me. Now I do want to caution that this is the opinion of my nose and others may feel differently. However for me, I can smell the vanilla, but for a lack of a better description, the rest of the smell seems to missing. I can smell a hole in the scent so to speak.

I do think it's a nice soap. But for me, I would be more likely to go towards one of their more robust scented soaps.

The soap itself is a light pink colour and very smooth. On the skin it does feel lovely and smooth. And I also love that with a Lush soap, I know I am using a soap that is natural and animal testing free.

I also wish that Lush would have more sales on their soaps because they are rather expensive.

I agree, it is lacking the extra oomph in the fragrance department.

Smells like candy

I was gifted a Lush "sweet Soap of mine" pack which has both Rock Star Soap and The Godmother soaps.

In the gift pack, the Rock Star Soap comes in the shape of a wedge and it keeps its shape in the shower.

Lush Rock Star Soap is pink, vanilla goodness. It is not a soap that lathers immensely and smells amazing. I feel as though I am being kind to my skin when using Lush soaps. My skin feels squeaky clean and soft after use. My bathroom and skin smell like sweet, sweet candy as well.

Lush Rock Star Soap is a gorgeous pink colour. I am using this soap daily and is lasting a long time. Cliche but Lush Rock Star Soap is quite slippery once wet.

I love Lush and wish there was a store where I live. So I am thankful for Lush Gifts given to me :-)

My favourite lush soap!

This was one of the first lush soaps that I tried out a few years ago. I had a sniff of it instore and was instantly in love. I'm currently using a 100gm block as my handsoap. I bought this in a 2 pack with a godmother soap as well.

This soap appeals to me so strongly for a couple of reasons. It's a bright pink which is my fave colour and it smells super sweet, like candy. I love the sweeter scents and this is one of the sweetest out there. The scent lingers for so long on my hands which I love and even makes my bathroom smell so good just by sitting in it. I find this lathers up really well too.

Obviously this is a soap that you would only like if you like sweet things. If you've ever used snow fairy shower gel and loved it, then you would love this. Stay away if you don't like lollie smells, this is very intense and won't appeal to you at all. This is one of quite a few lush items that I will always repurchase. I really hope that they never discontinue this one!

Mature Snow Fairy

This was one of the first lush soaps I tried as I'm quite hesitant with skin products because of how sensitive it is.

This soap is a dark baby pink and smells deeeeelicious. I find it hard to describe the smell but i think it's pretty similar to snow fairy shower gel, but a bit musky and grown up.

It lathers up really nicely and is easy to use just as is. However I would say if it's just left in the shower it becomes pretty mushy/weak pretty fast so I would take it out of the shower each time.

I find my skin can handle it about twice a week. I have eczema so this is good for me....I can usually only use unscented unfun products on the regular.

Overall I really do like it, just needs to be kept in the dry when it's not actually being used.

I've also been keeping my back up one in a draw and it makes me clothes smell so good!

All for the smell

The smell of this soap is quite similar to the Bubblegum range and is quite sweet and long-lasting. However the soap itself is not at all long-lasting, it lasts about a month or so but because it doesn't foam up a lot in your hands you'll have to keep going at it which uses it up a lot faster than other foamy soaps. After use it give a squeaky clean feeling to your skin but after drying the skin is back to feeling soft again. If you're into the smell of soaps and wouldn't mind it running out quickly then this would be perfect :)

My top product!

This little rock star gem is sitting high and proud on my number 1 must have list. I've been buying it for years.

The fragrance is similar to the candy floss gel. It's sweet and just so yummy I wanna eat it! This one is softer than alot of the other soaps. It's like it's made up with more moisturising ingredients. When you run it along your skin it sort of turns milky. It doesn't bubble up.

For me with sensitive skin it doesn't dry out my skin, it doesn't react and cause eczema or anything. It leaves a gorgeous fragrance on the skin but it's not over powering.

After showering the bathroom smell heavenly. Would I buy this again? Heck yes! Absolutely

Tips: Store it on a wire rack away from the water spray to make it last longer. Even it it on a wee sponge. Put spares in your linen cupboard or clothing drawers for amazing smelling clothing

My first Lush LOVE

It took me so long to jump on the Lush wagon, and thinking back I don't know why it took me so long, now I cant live without a lot of their products.

The colour is awesome, it is a pastel pink colour , if the colour doesn't pull you in the smell definitely will. It smells like bubble gum and candy floss all pushed into a soap bar.

It lathers very well and is very moisturizing. After showering the scent lasts a few hours, my husband knows when I use this soap in the shower because he said it smells like I covered myself in candy. My children also love it but I make sure I put it away once they are finished with it. If you leave it in water it turns into a slippery and jelly like mess.

I have repurchased this many times, it is a house hold favorite.

If you love sweet smelling moisturizing soaps then this one is most definitely for you!

Tips: Instead of buying a large block of soap I ask the lady at Lush to slice up a few bars of soap for me. That way I can slowly use up the soap instead of using it all at once.

Smells like lollies but no moisturiser

I really love this soap. My soap is in the shape of a star so not sure if they have changed the design which is a shame because it is so cute. So the smell is a bit like lollies, but not sickly sweet like some can smell. The price is so good because this product literally lasts for ages, you really get your money's worth here. It is the only soap made by Lush that leaves the smell on your skin which is a huge must for me as I like to still smell the product after it is washed off and dried.

The only downside to this is that it lacks moisturizing properties which I need for my super dry skin. I need to plop on quite a bit of moisturiser with this. Other than that, its an amazing smelling soap.

Smells like marshmallows

One of the things I love about ordering from Lush, aside of their amazing products, is the generous samples they often add in to your order. One of my recent purchases included a generous sized chunk of rockstar soap which I am totally in love with! It has a very sweet marshmallowy scent which lingers on the skin nicely without being over powering. The soap itself is a gorgeous creamy bright pink, is fairly solid feeling and suds up beautifully. I don't notice it to be drying on my skin but in saying that I always moisturise after a bath or shower.

Tips: I like putting my soaps tightly sealed in my drawers to act as a fragrance sachet up until I use them :)

Great!

Although a pricey item, the Rock Star soap does wonders for your skin. It smells divine, like candy, and leaves your skin smelling great even after your shower. It's a sweet pink and sometimes comes in a star shape. It's smooth and lathers and spreads easily. Again because it is pricey, it's better as a treat-yourself soap rather than a long term soap, but it lasts a reasonable amount of time, so it's still a good buy!

Tips: Love buying it in a set with another soap or buying it in one of those gift boxes for a friend! (It's in a space themed one and comes with the planet shaped bath bomb)
