Try it!

Used this along with the smoothing body cleanser. Used just under a week, twice a day, mainly on arms and legs.

First up this is fragrance free but smells like a Bloody Mary. No biggie as the last lotion I tried for my KP smelt like sulphur (Amlactin lotion) so this is 1000 better. Great packaging, in a tube so great for travelling too.

Consistency is like a thicker cream but glides on the skin. Absorbs pretty quickly so you’re not left feeling greasy. Skin felt really soft all day. Noticeable improvement in my arms, texture is no longer bumpy and itchy. about a 70% Improvement in the redness, dots on my arms.

I highly recommend using this along with the smoothing body cleanser. I think used together will make a real difference. This is not an overnight cure so you need to keep using to manage and improve the skin.

Definitely worth a try and I’m confident enough to say that’s this duo is one of the better options for KP. unfortunately CeraVe is not a cruelty free brand - I wish they’d work to changing this.

Tips: Use with the smoothing body cleanser.

It really does smooth!

I'm loving my discovery of CeraVe - thanks Beauty Review!

I've been using this with the matching cleanser, on my face and body, for about 2 weeks now. I'm loving the gentle, fragrance-free formula and the soothing feel of the cream on my sore skin.

I have eczema on my face and body and it can be really sore especially in winter. I've never found a cream I could use on my face and body, usually body creams are too heavy.

This cream does seem to have a smoothing effect, my skin feels softer and more even.

I will definitely buy this again!

Amazing

I love this product and will definitely purchase more of this and of the Cerave range. The Cerave SA smoothing cream is somehow rich feeling, but light when applied, and absorbs easily for a silky feel. It goes well after using the Cerave smoothing cleanser. I instantly noticed an improvement in the small bumps and dry patches on my face, and I have also used it on my hands and it quickly healed up a couple of small dry, eczema patches. My teenage daughter also tried it and loves it and wants to try the rest of the Cerave range. She has eczema also on her face and hands and found an improvement in that and her skins overall texture, and even for pimples, which I found too. It contains urea which makes skin soft, moist and gives a good barrier, salicylic acid to smooth, 3 ceramides, niacinamide, and shea butter which is always lovely and softening for the skin. It is fragrance free and quite gentle. It smells similarly to the cleanser with not much smell. Sort of like most fragrance free hand creams, and the urea smell is not overpowering or offensive. It does contain alcohol, as many products do, and I’m not sure if it was this or another ingredient, but sometimes on very dry areas or eczema that was broken skin it did sting a bit, but passed quickly and was not bad, and this improved with use. It’s especially good for this time of year between the cold air and air-conditioning or fireplaces, as my skin can get very dry and lose its natural barrier quickly, but this has definitely improved my skin’s barrier and it has been less dry. The tube is large with 170g, a good size for a face cream. However, the lid on ours was very hard to open. It’s just a flip top but it was stiff. Just a minor issue that may have just been our tube. I guess it’s good that it’s secure! Overall it’s a good product and very reasonably priced. It does what it says it does and we will continue to use Cerave SA smoothing cream.

New HG moisturiser for my dry sensitive skin

This moisturiser is the bees knees for my skin. I am using it after the matching body wash and having the most amazing results. I suffer from eczema, keratosis and when I’m not on my game I get psoriasis as well. Moisturisers can sting my skin and I find with my dry skin most that are effective are greasy and oily. Not this one though!! It’s lovely and thick and a little goes a long way. It’s in an easy to use squeeze bottle with the lid at the bottom to easily access that last remaining bit at the end of the bottle. It absorbs well and leaves no greasy or oily feeling and no scent to irritate you either. The best part about it is how plump and hydrated my skin feels even 24 hours after applying. I’m really amazed at how nice my skin is feeling. I actually took before and after photos of some dry psoriasis patches beginning to break out the day before I started and by day 3 they were practically gone with no use of steroid cream. So all my eczema/psoriasis babes out there it is sooooo worth trying. Definitely combine with the body wash. I’m so so happy with the results.

Tips: At the very end of the tube cut it open with scissors to scoop the remainder out. Definitely use in conjunction with the body wash it’s equally as amazing. Drink your water and stay hydrated

great for eczema and dry skin!

My eczema around my nose and jawline has gone and I love the feel of how smooth my skin is after applying this cream. It's a very thick cream and a little goes a long way, great to add to my beauty routine during winter. I also have seen less redness since using this cream and have been applying it to my shoulders and chest as I get body acne, no more roughness or bumps! Overall it's a great moisturiser hydrating and very effective for eczema spots.

Tips: You dont need too much when applying to face.

Softer skin

This is a beautiful cream with a thick matte texture that spreads really well - it says no fragrance but it kind of does have a bit of a off scent. It has great ingredients like niacinamide and shea butter. My skin felt very smooth after application. I feel like its helping with the bumps on my body slightly, more making my skin soft feeling. I will say it absorbs super fast! You would need atleast 4 weeks of daily usage to see good results.

A mixed bag

This was a bit of a hit and a miss for our family. First up - it is fragrance-free (yay) and suitable for two of our family members with dry, red, rough and bumpy skin; one of of us has eczema and sensitive skin, and one with keratosis pilaris. For me (eczema/sensitive) I was not a fan. The cream was so thick and rich and really didn't absorb at all. I applied it to my eczema spots on my legs before bedtime first and awoke thinking my legs had been oiled. Jumping in the shower I could feel a film of it all over me. The next time I used half as much and still encountered the same problem. I switched to using it on rough patches (elbows, knees etc) and had a much better go of it, but I was hoping for a cream that would work in tandem with the wash to really target my eczema. However, for our keratosis pilaris sufferer, she loved it. It absorbed well into her skin and, done in tandem with the wash, we noticed an improvement in the appearance and colour of her skin (goodbye inflamed red arms). This is definitely a product that you'll have to try and see if it works for you - it was mixed success for us!

Tips: This is thick and formulated for thicker skin of the body - use sparingly.

Mixed Feelings...

It does have a mild urea scent (think cat pee...) that I don't enjoy, but I'm particularly sensitive to scents so I could just be dramatic. It is very mild though! And there's a chance it's all in my head just from seeing the word urea...

This also has quite a thick consistency, so I prefer rubbing it into my hands and then pressing it into my skin so as not to pull or drag on my skin.

I do have sensitivity on the tops of my cheeks and I definitely could feel a bit of stinging. I also made the mistake of applying it soon after waxing my eyebrows and that was a big mistake! But that was entirely my fault, not the product's.

I did still find it hydrating, and used in conjunction with the CeraVe SA Cleanser, I have noticed my skin feeling more smooth.

However, I think I might mostly use this moisturizer on my elbows and heels (I read that urea is great for those areas) once I find another facial moisturizer to replace this one.

All in all, it does what it claims, my skin and sense of smell might just be a bit too sensitive for regular use on the face.

Tips: Do not apply to broken or vulnerable skin such as post waxing or dermaplaning!

Perhaps avoid if you have very sensitive skin.

Apply in patting motions if you have delicate skin as product has a lot of drag.

Cera Ve Smoothing cream

I was so excited to be part of this trial as I had been wanting to try this cream as soon as I saw it was available.

First off, I am a bit confused by this range. Is it for body or face? It doesn’t really say on the packaging but some online research led me find out it’s actually for both! I used it on my face once but it started smarting slightly so I decided to just trial on my body. I have super dry skin with bumpy upper arms, thighs and back. This cream is really thick so I was looking forward to the results.

My skin definitely felt softer, but I didn’t notice a difference in the bumps. I also think due to the consistency you need to use quite a lot of product and for the price point I’d be a bit hesitant to use this again as I have had better results with a cheaper product. It also left a residue on my skin which felt a bit slippery when showering again the next day.

Overall a nice product, there is no strong fragrance and my skin did feel moisturised and soft after using it for a few days. I was just hoping it would banish the bumps more!

SA smoothing cream

I think this cream complements the cleanser beautifully. It’s great to know I’m not using a moisturiser that is going to block my pores but rather continue to exfoliate without drying my skin and leaving my KP almost all gone. I did find the cream quite thick and it didn’t absorb very easily, I had to run it in for a long time and it didn’t spread far so I was using a lot of product, however it is a rather reasonable price and quite a large size so worth the money to get the amazing results. I found it quite nice as a night cream on my face and under my eyes to hydrate my face at night when it needs it the most and continuing to decrease my acne at night as it absorbs into my skin. It did sting a little bit on my broken skin so just be careful if you have open pimples. I think it absorbed well with time and left my skin soft and hydrated with the SA and HA ingredients to help with my acne and KP which has left me so confident in my own skin.

Tips: Don’t apply on broken skin
