This is such a handy blush! If you drop it you don't have to worry about it shattering! It's so easy to use and apply to the skin. And it seems to last forever too which is a bonus!
I have purchased these in coral reef and Flushed - the first being a bright coral which I hoped would translate into a bright vibrant summer peach, the second a very neutral nude honey peach type shade. I am incredibly pale so I am quite surprised that someone of my skintone cannot get these to show up properly on my face, I wonder what hope there is for anyone say a Medium-Dark skintone. The Coral comes off as a subtle orangey peach, it takes so much layering (have tried fingers and the brush method of application) that once one layer builds up the next removes it and it starts to ball up (very siliconey powdery kind of texture), the flushed just barely shows up at all and isn't worth all the mucking around to get it to show up. Overall very disappointing result with these cream blushes and I would not recommend!
Tips: use ur fingers
My cream blush is a little different to the one in the image (https://fairytalesandcoffee.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/revlon-cream-blushes.jpg)
I prefer a cream for a fast every-day look that I can update throughout the day when I'm not wearing much makeup.
The colour is great, the little mirror is handy and it stays on for at least 3 or 4 hours in my experience.
Tips: If you have oily skin or it's a humid day, it may be worth checking if you need to reapply as the cream nature of the product does tend to "slide" off fairly quickly.
I'd been keen to try a cream blush for a while and after watching one of Lisa Eldridge's youtube videos, I went out and bought "Flushed". It's a bright, hot-pink, fuchsia colour in the tub, but once applied to the skin it appears more as a slightly flushed sheer pink.
The transparent plastic pot has a black screw top lid, which is perfect for travelling and the product can be applied with either fingertips or a small, fairly stiff brush. The silky, creamy formula glides on evenly and blends easily while the colour can be built up from sheer to full making it a versatile blush for a daywear or eveningwear.
Cream blushers do need to be applied on top of foundation or BB cream before you powder. If you try to apply it after powder, it will not blend easily and the colour will look patchy.
To apply the cream blush, dab a small amount onto the cheeks and gently blend it outwards towards the temples or top of the ears using a patting motion if using your fingers or small circular motions if using a brush. Work quite quickly and do one cheek at a time, as the product does start to "dry" once it's on your skin and becomes more difficult to blend.
Build the colour up to the required shade before lightly dusting with translucent powder on a fluffy brush, to set. I've found that the colour will start to fade during the day if it's not set with powder.
Cream blush is great for dry or mature skins, as it won't settle into fine lines and wrinkles and doesn't look cakey.
Tips: If you don't use blush often, rather opt for a liquid cheek tint or a powder blush as cream products tend to start drying out and go hard after a while. For a more affordable equivalent, try Rimmel Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint.
I've always been a person who only enjoys using powders and applying with brushes but as my skin has aged I've noticed that powders were not behaving that well on my face anymore so started to venture into creams.
Cream blushes have left me lacklustre in the past when tried but Revlon cream blush has made me rethink them.
It applies effortlessly with fingers and actually blends out. Without going all shiny and greasy or messy with the foundation or BB cream placed underneath it.
Charmed was a bit bright but was the only option of 2 in store with nude appearing too fair for my skin tone so I timedly applied this bright pink to my cheeks and was amazed by the buttery application and how sheer it blended out, leaving a pinched rouge effect and a slight glow.
Lasted all day which was a shock, wish there were more colour ranges in this cream blush as I like options but it has me rethinking how a cream blush should perform.
Highly recommend to those just starting into the cream makeup world.
