001 Honey Balm and 210 Unapologetic Matte

Both of these stains promise high colour intensity with a balm like feel and they both deliver on this 100% I love the crayon packaging of these stains, the lids never go missing in my handbag like lots of lipsticks do! Application is easy and fluid and you never need to sharpen them. Both have a light minty taste/smell but not enough to make your lips tingly with menthol. Perfect.

The Honey balm is my go-to everyday colour. I will wear this instead of chapstick if I can't find one as it is that moisturising. It is a nude pink that matches my natural lip colour perfectly. The finish is a low level gloss (more like a chapstick kind of sheen), no glitter or shine making them perfect for day time or the office. I have almost finished my first and will absolutely be buying this one again. Plus some more colours probably.

The 210 Unapologetic is my favourite BOLD statement lip look. This is a vibrant, bright pink (true pink, not orangey and not berry toned, PINK) and MATTE. It feels balmy still which is amazing for matte products and never feels drying. BUT it can look dry very easily. Having well prepared lips with no flaking is crucial. I often will layer this stain with a chapstick over the top to stop it looking dry which makes it less matte but oh well.

The staying power of both of these stains is amazing. I can apply and have hot cup of tea straight after and it doesn't budge. No marks on the cup. Wow.I'll reapply maybe once in a day.

Tips: The matte stains are quite different from the balm stains. Make sure you prep your lips right for them to avoid looking cracked and flaky. I have not yet tried a Lacquer Balm and can't comment on these!

Addicted

Okay I am 100% addicted to these things and I only own 2! They are freaking incredible and I aim to own every colour.

The two shades I have are Charm and Honey. Charm is an incredibly subtle creamy peach colour which I love to use in Summer as more of a tinted lip balm that slightly lightens my lip colour but still looks natural.

Honey is the star of the show and the one I have completely fallen in love with. It is an incredible my lips but better kind of shade and it matches my lips incredibly! It is the best lip product for everyday wear because it just makes you look more put together without overdoing it.

The formulas of these things are incredible. Super nourishing but not slippery and because they are a stain you don't have to worry about them smudging around your face. They last for ages and don't leave that dreaded ring around your lips. So convenient to have on hand. They are super easy to wear dressed up for a night time look but I think they go best with more casual looks whereas the matte balms and lacquer balms are harder to wear for natural looks.

The packaging also wins me over! I love that the colours are easily identified because they are the same colour as the plastic packaging. I also love that they aren't your conventional lipstick shape, i guess because they aren't lipstick! The lid stays firmly put as well.

The price is definitely affordable as the product lasts a long time and you can pick them up on special sometimes as well. I highly recommend these balm stains to everyone!

Great lip crayons

I have a couple of these in different finishes, the main reason I brought them was I was wondering around a pharmacy waiting and spotted the lacquer lip crayon first with its shiny coat, well it drew me in and I walked away with 2 of them in my hands to purchase.

I'm normally a matte long lasting lipstick kind of girl as I'm lazy and putting on these types sees me through the day without touch ups but the attraction to these balm stains was strong.

Matte: Sultry (dark pinky purple) Lacquer/gloss: Provocateur (bright red)

Both of these offer a non dragging and non drying formula wrapped up in a butter smooth application crayon in a twist up and down capped crayon. The design of these are that the colour of the product inside is reflected in the colour of the outer packaging, even so much that the lacquer colour has a shiny effect to the barrel, where the matte colour has a muted matte finish to it. Both of the formulas were quite long lasting, the matte more so than the glossy red which seemed to want to slide off of my lips after eating and drinking which is normal of this type of finish. The matte stuck around a little after eating but soon wore away, both needed at least 2 tops ups during a 9-10 hours work day to see me all the way through, but these lip crayons are cute enough to slip into your bag, or put on your desk to top up with.

These balms act like a lipstick and lip balm had a beautiful love child together with a sprinkle of staying power thrown in for good luck. They hydrate your lips to a point, it isn't a complete substitute for a balm but it doesn't dry out your lips and has a very faint mint smell to it that wore off once applied that makes you think of regular lip balms.

I only have 2 of these at the moment but they do catch my eye as soon as I walk into Farmers or the pharmacy so no doubt the temptation to resist buying more will be short lived.

Pretty in pink

I had the Tarte lipsurgence and the lovely BR member Kirstyj recommended I try this, this one is identical, half the price and easier to find rather than buying online. I brought the colour 105 Demure Reservee ooo fancy name. The colour is a pretty light pink with a shimmer.

I love different novelty type things and this being in the shape of a crayon ticks all the novelty boxes it also makes it very easy to apply, and don't fear when your running low you just twist up the bottom and up it comes, too easy.

This isn't really like a stain though it's a lot like a balm it's nice because it doesn't dry out your lips. I have found with it though it does need touching up quite frequently especially after eating and drinking but I don't mind because it's so easy to apply. With it having a shimmer/glitter in it I was worried it would have been harsh on my lips but I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was.

I can't wait to purchase more of these, especially one for night time as I find this one better for day use as it's just a very subtle pink.

Amazing, Ok and Bad!

So I brought three of these lip balm stains and well I have a totally mixed review of each colour so I will review by colours:

Amazing 5/5 = Honey Douce. (001) This is my go to everyday colour, I can wear it with any colour clothes/makeup etc as it gives the lips a perfect hue being a dusky pink colour, its neutral but with added definition. I wear this most days to work as its the BEST. Doesn't crack on the lips and wears evenly. My lips never feel dry after wearing. I will defiantly be buying again. (has lasted ages already too, bonus!) This would suit both fair to dark skin tones.

Ok 3/5 = Rendezvous (040) This is an orange coral colour and applies nice to lips however if lips are even a little chapped it will be noticeable. Even if I've prepped my lips it still seems to get between the lines. I like this one for a pop of colour but disappointed that it doesn't last as long as hoped. It doesn't seem as nourishing as the Honey douche, and dries my lips a little after use. Again, would suit most skin types depending how bold you like to go!

Bad 1/5 = Charm (035) This one just doesn't work on my lips, its a light fleshy skin tone shade and works more like a balmy gloss but the light colour sits uneven on my lips and really shows up even the smallest of lines (even when my lips are baby smooth) and actually stings my lips when applied(!) I never bother using this colour anymore and would imagine it will sit around until I throw it out or give it away.

So there you have it, a very mixed review on these!

Tips: Don't be put off trying again if you get a dud, I would risk trying a different colour again (if on sale of course!) :)

Easy Peasy

I am not a huge fan of listicks as they dry my lips out majorly so I love these! They feel like a lip balm but with the colour of a lipstick. I have them in most colours and they are my go to for a night out. I love how easy they are to use, no lip liner required and easy to apply on the go without a mirror. The colour is long lasting and the stain makes it last even longer (I use the glossy version as opposed to matte). I was recently given a Clinique Chubby Stick which is more expensive but I prefer my Revlon version!

Beautiful Lips!

I am such a huge fan of the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain range. I've tried a couple of their colours, Charm and Lovesick, and both of them were super pretty and nourishing on my lips. The packaging is super cute, being in brightly coloured, chunky tubes, and the balms apply smoothly to your lips. I loved how Charm was scented like fresh mint - unsure if that's across the whole range - as it was so fresh and tingly to apply. Overall the colours look great and last for ages, even through meals your lips stay looking great.

Definitely impressed!

I bought one of these crayons in a hurry one day because I loved the colour. Now I am sold on the product and wonder why I have never tried them before. The colour smooths on and the stain remains for a good length of time. Its not sticky nor dry and just perfect for those quick touch up times during the day. I really like the idea of a crayon and the bright colour is easy to find in my bag. These might not suit everyone if you like a glossy, pouty, traditional lipstick, however I shall definitely try some other colours in the range.

Tips: Buy lots of them!

Love these lipstains!

I absolutely love these lipstains! I have about 5 or 6 of them now, and I love that I can put it on in the morning before work, and the colour stays on all day! I sometimes touch it up in the afternoon, but only if I want a little bit more of a shimmer - but the colour is definitely still there. They are super easy to apply, and I love how it barely feels like I'm wearing anything on my lips (they feel more like a balm when you put them on).

Tips: I have occassioanlly used them as a base under other lipsticks or lip-glosses, but they are awesome by themselves.
