Love at first sight.

There is literally nothing I can find wrong with these. They are highly pigmented (especially the matte ones) and they are very long wearing on their own. I love the colour selection and how the colour inside the tube really does match the packaging. Also like the cooling sensation and nice minty scent when you put it on.

Tips: Use a brush to apply as the brighter colours may get a bit tricky, would line around the lips as a guide.

Love The Colour

I love the colours this comes in, they are nice and bold. I really like the crayon type style, it makes application super easy. It goes on smooth but I do have to exfoliate my lips before using, because if you have any cracks or old skin it clings to it and looks terrible. It feels great on my lips, nice and creamy. As much as I love the colour I was disappointed as I don't get a stain and have to touch it up several times, even more if I eat or drink anything, which I found to be disappointing considering the whole point of buying it was so you wouldn't have to touch it up during the day. I like it but I could probably get the same result with a good old lipstick.

Revlon Colourburst Balm Stain

I have three shades, they apply smoothly and feel hydrating on the lips. They stain the lips too which I suppose they are meant to.They last all day for me, but two of the shades oxidise and change colour totally different from the tube.

Pretty in pink

I had the Tarte lipsurgence and the lovely BR member Kirstyj recommended I try this, this one is identical, half the price and easier to find rather than buying online. I brought the colour 105 Demure Reservee ooo fancy name. The colour is a pretty light pink with a shimmer.

I love different novelty type things and this being in the shape of a crayon ticks all the novelty boxes it also makes it very easy to apply, and don't fear when your running low you just twist up the bottom and up it comes, too easy.

This isn't really like a stain though it's a lot like a balm it's nice because it doesn't dry out your lips. I have found with it though it does need touching up quite frequently especially after eating and drinking but I don't mind because it's so easy to apply. With it having a shimmer/glitter in it I was worried it would have been harsh on my lips but I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was.

I can't wait to purchase more of these, especially one for night time as I find this one better for day use as it's just a very subtle pink.

Amazing, Ok and Bad!

So I brought three of these lip balm stains and well I have a totally mixed review of each colour so I will review by colours:

Amazing 5/5 = Honey Douce. (001) This is my go to everyday colour, I can wear it with any colour clothes/makeup etc as it gives the lips a perfect hue being a dusky pink colour, its neutral but with added definition. I wear this most days to work as its the BEST. Doesn't crack on the lips and wears evenly. My lips never feel dry after wearing. I will defiantly be buying again. (has lasted ages already too, bonus!) This would suit both fair to dark skin tones.

Ok 3/5 = Rendezvous (040) This is an orange coral colour and applies nice to lips however if lips are even a little chapped it will be noticeable. Even if I've prepped my lips it still seems to get between the lines. I like this one for a pop of colour but disappointed that it doesn't last as long as hoped. It doesn't seem as nourishing as the Honey douche, and dries my lips a little after use. Again, would suit most skin types depending how bold you like to go!

Bad 1/5 = Charm (035) This one just doesn't work on my lips, its a light fleshy skin tone shade and works more like a balmy gloss but the light colour sits uneven on my lips and really shows up even the smallest of lines (even when my lips are baby smooth) and actually stings my lips when applied(!) I never bother using this colour anymore and would imagine it will sit around until I throw it out or give it away.

So there you have it, a very mixed review on these!

Tips: Don't be put off trying again if you get a dud, I would risk trying a different colour again (if on sale of course!) :)

Great product

I have this in a plum shade and I love it. It is a really handy product, it gives good colour but is more subtle than a lipstick. I use it along with a regular lipbalm and it is perfect for going out as you can wear it for several hours without needing to reapply at all.

Great quality

I have 2 of these: 030 - Smitten Eprise, & 045 -Romantic Romantique. I have found both of them to be very good. The red one, 045, is a rosy, glossy red. It is perfect for giving a hint of colour stain without the impression of a full-on lipstick. It makes your lips feel moisturised while providing a pop of colour. I do not find that this one stains my lips. It is quite lightweight, and also good for wearing over matte red lipsticks that you want to make glossy.

The dark pink one, 030, is a lovely plum shade. This one is very potent with a lot of staying power. It does stain the lips and will last you all day so your lips will look pink even after you've eaten. This one's colour is too rich to wear over a matte lipstick.

I have tried lip crayons from other brands, and Revlon's ones have been the best quality so far.

Tips: I often have dry lips, especially in winter, and these lips balms help to keep them moisturised while giving me a pop of colour. I find the balm stains show up dry skin on the lips less than the matte ones do.

Luscious colour

I am currently using the Crush shade, which is a lovely deep berry colour. I had tried a gloss-less stain before and didn't like the effect but the addition of gloss/balm in this product is amazing.

I love love love the thick delicious colour that glides and feels like a light lipstick.

I do not love that this particular shade faded to a hot pink if I didn't replenish it during the day. The particular hot pink isn't my colour, and it highlighted that I would have to keep refreshing it all day - I found that the product doesn't really stop staining the lips till after a shower. Even make up wipes doesn't seem to get all of it off. In my situation, when I wore this to work I thought 'great, a low maintenance colour that isn't heavy' but come gym time when I wanted to wipe it off, I was left with the unusual-for-me hot pink colour and I felt a little silly. Lesson learnt, I won't be wearing this on days where I might not want to keep refreshing it.

This product has a cooling peppermint flavour - I found it odd at first but got used to it. It is otherwise quite moisturising and OK on my dry lips.

Next project is to try another colour and see if I can find one that doesn't fade to a different colour.

Colourburst balm stain - Lovesick

There is a subtle hint of mint or menthol on this balm. The balm has some stay power even after food but you may want to reapply for the balm rather than the stain. The stain stays most of the day without reapplication but it does fade over this time and lovesick is a strong bright pink.

It comes in a crayon shaped tube with a lid on it and you twist up from the bottom to extend the balm. It seems everyone did a version of the chubby stick.

Not sure I would buy the colour I have again but I would consider buying the product as it is a reasonable price.

Tips: Over time the bottom twist part has seemed to get a looser from the main part of it for some reason. The writing on the side all wore off after about a month or so.

Surprisingly like it!

This is one of those beauty purchases on a whim that was on a really good sale. I bought a light pink/peach type colour - really summery and I really love this colour.

The colour is quite intense, but not overpowering. I love the lip crayon application - it is easy to use and makes it perfect for a more casual makeup look. The balm stain has a strange (but not bad) minty taste and scent; unexpected but wakes up your lips and is somewhat refreshing. It has a decent staying power; nothing that lasts all day for me but for a few hours anyway. This is not so much of a hindrance for me as the packaging makes it really easy to reapply anywhere.

I would buy one of these again, but probably not at full price (as there are a lot of options for that price).

Tips: I wouldn't pay full price - definitely try this if you see them on sale though!
