Libra Hotties

I received a free sample from Libra of their new Hotties product. The concept behind the product is great - a portable hot water bottle, that is discreet and helps relieve aches and pains. While I think that the idea is great, this product failed to really 'wow' me, and I don't know if I would go out and purchase these myself.

I often get a sore neck and find that heat helps, so I tried my sample on my neck. Initially I found that it wasn't heating up so I moved it to another area of my neck where it did. The stickiness of the patch was gone when I re-applied it so it basically didn't stick at all which kind of defeated the purpose of being able to move about with it on.

The heat did get quite hot after a little while (would have been good if the instructions said that it did take a while to get hot!) however the effectiveness I found was quite short-lived.

There also seems to be a lot of packaging for one small patch. I am not sure what the patches in the packs you can purchase are like, but the sample seemed to have a lot of unrecyclable material, and I felt bad throwing it in the rubbish after use. It would be nice if they were reusable or came with less outer packaging.

Sooo sticky, not that warm!!

I was quite excited to try these, but they were quite a disappointment. They didn't get really warm, and the adhesive was so super sticky that it really hurt to remove!!

A hot water bottle is still superior

I got these a while ago and kept them in my handbag for when I needed them. The small size is quite handy for this.

They heat up and stick to your skin ok, but as others have mentioned they don't really feel secure enough to move around in, so you might as well just use a regular hot water bottle or wheat pack.

I have found that my nalgene drink bottle (that you can pour boiling water into) is superior in terms of heat output and because I carry it in my handbag it's just as convenient, and you aren't sending rubbish to landfill everytime you use it.

All round these are OK if you are trying to be discreet, but otherwise not really worth it.

Disappointing

I suffer from bad cramps, and these heat patched looked like heaven in their little box on the shelf. I used one, and it was pretty disappointing. It took a very very long time to heat up, and even when it was heated, it was lukewarm. It also didn't stick very well. :(

Tips: Don't try them. They really aren't worth the money, even though it's not much.

Glad I didn't waste my money

Received a sample and must admit I was excited to try, only to be disappointed :( Took awhile to activate and just didn't get that hot. Felt as if i would've got more warmth by holding my hand against my tummy so bit of a let down. Also found it irritating to be stuck on. Glad it was free and I didn't waste money to try this product

hotties?!?!?

Love the idea but sadly the product didn't live up to expectations :( the pads didn't get much hotter than warm, and really didn't do much in the way of helping. Found that they stuck ok, not sure I would use or recommend them simply because a hotwater bottle or wheat pack is going to do a better job

Tips: Stick with your hotwater bottle (the mini version for kids are a great size) or wheat packs

Libra Hotties Heat Patches

This isnt what I expected as Libra have some fantastic products. The patch doesnt heat up very well, the adhesive doesnt stick that great and I didnt read the instructions when I bought my 1st one, and pulled the wrong seal off- damaging the patch. I bought another one, making sure to peel the right side off, applied it to my lower back pain and it didnt take my pain away. I was not a happy camper.

Less than satisfied

I got theses thinking that the temperature would be constant and be a decent heat, but it wasn't anywhere near warm, it was more like a luke warm and didn't do anything. It has a lot of potential but if the temperature was a lot higher they would be fantastic (I have felt disposable hand warmers that heat hotter than these). Again as other people have stated, they would benefit from being re-stickable, I accidentally placed it in the wrong place and wasn't able to re-position it.

blah

The temperature really was not what i expected. It was lukewarm and i often couldn't feel any heat at all. It was reasonably comfortable and stayed in place but was a bit painful to pull off. The overall concept of the heat patch is a great idea i just don't think it really worked.I would probably stick to my hot water bottle!

Nothing beats a wheat bag!

I don't need these for the 'intended' use but for pulled muscles. The idea behind them is great, but I found they didn't give the right heat for me and what I needed. And only having 2 in a pack for at least $5 isn't very ideal as more would be needed! Will stick to a good ole fashioned wheatie bag instead, which is also reusable.

Tips: Keep them in the car, nappy bag or first aid kit for times of need when you are away from home.
