Waxing pen for eyebrows/face... neat!

I've been meaning to try this product for some time, so thanks BR for letting me have a go. I really liked it for the most part.

The 'wand' itself is simple and ergonomic. It feels comfortable to use. I was a little worried clicking it up but the gel only came out very slowly so it was fine.

The gel is a bit thick but enough gets on after a couple of swipes, and the best part is it come off cleanly with the cotton strip. My skin was fine afterwards, and I just washed as i would normally do.

Next time I might try warming it up a little, to see if it makes a difference to how easily the gel dispenses, but otherwise I have no complaints about this product.

Economical eyebrow waxing

This nifty little wand is a staple in my bathroom. The price is worth two salon treatments, and I find I can use it at least 5 times if not more. It takes a little longer to do than the mall beauty shops, but if you take into account the travel and then having to walk through the mall with pink marks around your forehead its worth keeping in the bathroom drawer. I find that it works best if its left in a cup of boiling water for about 5 minutes before applying, as it sticks better to finer hairs that way. The cotton strips are re-usable, and come clean in just warm water, if you leave them to dry on the sink you can just stash the set back in the drawer for then next round. Like the salon treatment you still need to use tweezers for the perfect look, but this is a great timesaver and easy to apply with the shaped applicator head, and there is no wastage due to the click winder.

Tips: Warm it up in some hot water for the best results!

Pretty easy to use

I got this because i had read somewhere that it was pretty much fool proof, it kinda is. I found it easy to use with the tip and the instructions were great but it didn't really remove every little hair, no biggy cos my eyebrows are little blondies but I know they are there so I'd hoped it would get them all. Never fair I will continue to use!

Tips: Have clean dry skin to get the best results and use in a well lit area and maybe a little cooling gel to sooth the redness afterwards. :)

I'm a baby!

I try my hardest to use gels and waxes but I have a very poor pain threshold when it comes to hair removal. I really like how it is a gel and doesn't need to be hot so there is no fear of burning myself and the extra product is easy to clean off should it stray. It's not the best at removing a small amount of hair so you will want to make sure you have a decent amount to remove than just a few strays. I though the strips were great as I could reuse them and they were a pretty good size too. The tip made it easy to apply and I myself didn't find it messy.

Great product

This product is a great way of DIY waxing. It is easy to use and their is virtually no risk of burning yourself. I did find I got a better result if my eyebrows weren't too hairy to begin with. The applicator stick made it easy to get a good shape and you can wash excess wax off with water!. Only downfall for me was having to wash and dry the cotton strips but at least it environmentally friendly

Tips: Clean, dry surface. Make sure the wax is free flowing and not too tacky before you use. If it is warm enough it will be the right consistency.

Easy and Convenient

I have re-purchased this product a couple of times now and have never been disappointed. It is quick and super simple to use at home. The results have been very positive for me, and found it well worth it compared to paying to have it done at a salon. The smooth formula allows it to go on easily and is distributed accurately. I don't need to use tweezers at all. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a cheaper alternative to professional brow waxing.

Tips: Slowly apply the wax to the area taking care not to get too much on at once.

Takes practice but worth it!

I have the world's most unruly, explosive eyebrows known to man!

Whilst eyebrow technicians love them (something about having a large canvas), I am less appreciative of them. People tend to think of bad eyebrows as a monobrow - thats not my issue. My issue is that my eyebrows extend up and out. So I get them popping up on my forehead all the way out towards my hairline, and slightly depending below my eye.

To say I'm over plucking my eyebrows is an understatement, if it was just my brows that needed plucking it would be fine, but all the other stray hairs make it a pain in the butt..especially when my hair grows so fast, its a 2 weekly affair.

This product is perfect for me. It took a bit of getting used to, but I was persistent and motivated to master it. The wand isn't as simple to master as you might imagine, and the instructions make it sound simplier than it is. Firstly, the wax needs to be quite warm for easy and accurate application. The instructions were quite blasé about the temperature, but its really the key to using it. I was standing it in warm water to soften, but when I moved to the microwave method and warmed it more than indicted by the instructions was when I started to get proper results. Secondly, apply the wax in a reverse direction to your eyebrows holding the wand nozzle fairly flat to your skin. Thirdly, rub and let cool for quite a while before peeling off.

I love this for taking care of my strays, and gives me a fantastic topline on my eyebrows. For my underbrow, its less so and still needs a bit of a tidy up, but it takes a lot of work out of it.

Tips: After removing a strip, put the strip back on your face, rub, and pull off again in areas where you dont need to be so accurate, like upper lip, chin, or stray eyebrow hairs on your face.

Gentle but effective

For best results, wash and dry your face before applying the wax.  The slimline, twist up applicator is really easy to use, although I did expect the wax to come out of the top of the applicator and not through a hole on one side.  Application is easy with no mess and I use it on both my eyebrows and upper lip.  Be sure to hold your skin with one hand, so that it's tight, before removing the strip with the other. If your skin moves with the removal of the strip, there's less chance of the hairs being pulled out.

The water-soluble wax and cotton strips are much more gentle than pre-waxed strips (like Veet Ready to Use Wax Strips for Face) and don’t leave my skin as red.  If I do miss any hairs, I can easily reapply the wax to the area and wax it again without irritating my skin.

The cotton strips are washable and reusable and easily come clean in warm water.  I wash and reuse my strips and all they need is a light rinse, no soap required and are left to air dry.  I’ve only used 6 strips from the box and just wish that they would make a wax refill, as it would be more economical than having to buy the whole applicator (and more strips) whenever the wax runs out.

After waxing, any residue washes off my skin easily with warm water.

Tips: Warm the tube of wax before using.  I prefer to wrap the tube in a hot cloth for a few minutes (while I wash my face), instead of standing the tube in water.  The warm wax is easier to spread and more hairs are removed.

A wand you say

A product with promises I couldn't resist. Since taking on home self care waxing, this seemed ideal.

Packaging: A pen like tube with green wax inside. Visible the tip end has 1 opening for the wax to be dispersed & applied to the skin. Has a removal lid for when prodicts not in use.Comes with surrated edged cloth strip & prewar cleansing wipes. Instructions are to heat in the palm of your hand so that wax is mandible & prepped for use. Gel should he running & thin inconsistency. If this hasn't worked you can run under warm water. Effects : I found first time was trial & error. I hadn't heated the tube up enough so I had to reheat in my hands pretty simple. Upon application it does target the area of concern but also does have the tendency to over spread. The cloths are very useful but do shed however they adhere to the wax almost instantly. Making it easy to identify where the gel is. Then stripping is painless, I find I can go back over with the same strip to take any strays off. Hair does get removed almost effortlessly. I think it does good for the price you pay & it does lift up hair from the follicles. Non abrasive, just right for the sensitive eye and upper lip area. It is great for long hair but you do have to go in any tidy up afterward with tweezers, but they do this in salons so it's not a bad thing. I think perhaps my mentality was it'll be the end to the tweezing. That's an unrealistic thought. I did think with my first use getting to know the product I wasted a bit. But I'm in all happy with the product. So a good product that can do as it says.

Tips: Heat product in your hand to get the gel thin. If this fails heat under a running tap. Clean the area intended for treatment. Don't go to close to the brow line. Be prepared to still use tweezers and scissors to tidy up

Nad's Facial Wand Eyebrow Shaper

For a first time user of something like this I found it quite easy. It's a handy little applicator which is slightly angled to spread the wax well.

Have to be patient with it though otherwise you end up with too much wax coming out. Tends to be a bit too thick, found rubbing it between my hands for 30 seconds or so helped soften it up. Sticks very well so be careful not to get it on any hairs you don't want removed!

Comes off cleanly and doesn't cause much irritation, any excess simply wipes off with a damp cloth.
