Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener

I was really excited to try the Essie nail strengthener as I’ve got damaged nails from having consistent Gel polish over the past few months, so this trial was great timing! I popped the strengthener onto my nails and they instantly felt smoother and soon felt stronger - they’ve felt a bit rough and flaky lately. The tint is easy to use, spreads well and you don’t need much to get good coverage. My nails were left shiny and not feeling like I was wearing lots of product so they felt really natural. Since using the tint I’ve noticed such a difference in the appearance and feel of my nails and they definitely seem stronger and less prone to breaking/flaking. I’ll definitely continue to use between polishes as a bit of a protectant. The strengthener worked so well I’ve even used on my toes too!

This opportunity to review Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener came at a great time. I had two SNS manicures in a row. Unfortunately the product started splitting off and because I didn't have time to visit the salon, I picked it off, leaving my nails in a terrible condition - they were paper thin. Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener came to my rescue. I applied Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener to the nails on my left hand and left my other nails bare. The difference was remarkable. The treated nails were stronger and did not break and split like before. My other nails were just awful. The product goes on easily, dries quickly and my nails have a lovely clear shine. Yes, I am happy to recommend this product and will be happy to repurchase. Thanks Essie - lifeline for damaged and weak nails.

My main issue is with peeling nails. As a healthcare worker I'm constantly washing and hand sanitising, so stronger nails would be lovely.

I wore Essie Hard to Resist for 4 days initially, cleaned it off, then reapplied for another 5 days.

I initially loved how easy the applicator brush is to use. I also really like how shiny it makes my nails. It looks like I have a fancy manicure.

It started to chip on day 3, but unlike normal nail polish it didn't peel off a top layer of my nail as well.

My nails definitely feel more resilient, and I feel more confident about trying to grown them out longer than normal.

Next time I apply this product I will use it as a base for normal nail polish and then update this review with the results. I feel like it will provide a nice protective layer against the harshness of nail polish.

I am not a 'nails person' - however, am now converted. Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Nail Strengthener arrived in her cute little box with a window to display the clear bottle appropriately. A safe and easy-to-use brush ensured the liquid glided on to nails quickly, and it dried in no time. My chipped and ugly nails almost smiled at me! The strengthener was just that - strong. It left a sparkle which for my purposes was all that was needed without coloured polish, etc. The application lasted two days or longer, again most convenient. This product is now a permanent essential for me, certainly my nails have improved noticeably, no cracks, chips or embarrassment.

I have using Essie Hard To Resist Nail Strengthener for two weeks now and my nails are amazing . It certainly strengthens them to the point they have now got to a length that I can file them into a great shape and start to be proud of my hands. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has nail problems. Will continue to use on a weekly basis.

My natural nails have never been strong enough without decent strengtheners and this was great for my weak nails. My nail looked clean and healthy after applying this product and it didn't chip away at the end like others after several days. Not too sure whether it made my nails actually healthier; but it definitely made it stronger and resistant to force. Brush was a bit bigger than usual so it was easy to apply.

I was so impressed with this polish, it took my brittle soft nails and gave them the oomph to get some length going. I am so used to my nails snapping or peeling as soon as any they get any length on them but this strengthening polish really helped with this. I found it to be quick drying and not too strong smell wise (though I would still recommend ensuring ventilation). Prior to testing this on my natural nails, I had BIAB on my nails, one of which cracked, my painting this on it held the BIAB together long enough to get them removed. The RRP is reasonable considering the results in such a short time. I’d love to trial this longer to see just how effective it can be when used in a prolonged setting.

This product is great - as soon as it's dry you can feel the difference - nails do feel stronger. The product is truly clear, so no discolouring like other products I've used in the past. I put on 2 coats with a little time in between to dry and within about 5 minutes it was good to go. No chipping or breaking during the week, apart from my thumb nail which has a damaged nail bed, and I sometimes have to buff it down. I put an extra 2 coats on that nail after a couple of days, to fix it & it is protecting that also. I like the slight shine that makes you feel more finished. Next time I'll put a bit of colour on them & use this as a topcoat. This will definitely be my go-to, to keep my nails looking their best every day. Quick and easy.

I was excited to try this as I love my naturally long nails so like to take care of them. However, the instructions and such on the box was so small it was mainly unreadable, I managed with a lot of straining of the eyes to make out the one sentence instructions, apply to nails and leave for three days. My mind was full of questions, then what? Do I take it off? Can I put polish over it? Etc so I googled it. Leave on for three days then remove and use between polish. So I did that. Within hours I could tell my nails were hardening. They didn’t bend as normal. By the next day they wouldn’t bend at all. After three days I removed with polish remover. I decided to wait to write this to see how long it would last, it’s been nearly a week and my nails are still hardened. Those with weak nails or nails damaged by acrylics etc would definitely benefit from the product and it is the best one I have tried. I did read in an article that you should be wary using gardeners as nails should bend otherwise they can snap off. So use only if needed.

I find this super easy to apply and the brush was very easily applied to my nail and spread the strengthener evenly to the nail. I did find the consistency of this to be a lot thicker and rather sticky than it looked. I did find it to dry up very quickly and it did seal up over my brittle nails. I did see a difference to a few of my nails but I think to the ones of mine that are super damaged need a bit more applications and should help me more.

I found this to be great overall and will be continuing to use it and for a longer duration as in when it peels off I will be reapplying again. I don't necessarily agree that there is a massive difference after 3 days of use as it claims - my nails are definitely still damaged, weak, brittle, and flaky but I can see the benefit with more use over a longer time.
