Comes in a white and clear plastic compact with a thin latex sponge for application but I wasn’t a fan of the applicator. I tried this over foundation and as a foundation on its own over moisturiser and primer but it just sits weirdly on my skin and emphasised every dry bit, every pore, every flaw. Good coverage but cakey looking.

I enjoyed this powder foundation much more than I did the liquid one. Still not full coverage but the application was nicer and lightweight on my skin. Would of been nice if there was a better applicator sponge or brush as the one provided wasn't very good, I ended up using another foundation brush to apply. I would keep using this foundation as I like the results but would of much preferred it to be true to the full coverage statement.
Absoutely love the packaging on this product, it includes a sponge and proper mirror in a tray under the powder layer. Keeping sponge well away from product, whilst protecting the mirror from breakage. Also means I don't have to carry a separate mirror.
The product itself has no scent and glides on smoothly. It can be used as a powder ontop of foundation or alone as a powder foundation.
However as a foundation alone is doesn't work well for me, I have lots of large pores and it doesnt seem to sit well and amplify them and shows up super fine lines. It also feels odd, a almost drying or tight feeling. The cover is probably best described as medium.
I prefer this as a powder over foundation applied with a powder brush. However sponge is great for on the go. Powder is great for oil control especially in T Zone area.
Tips: If using alone double check you have the correct shade as it is lighter than liquid foundation in the range.
Similar to the matching foundation, it was an ok product but not one I’d run out to buy again. Clean and cute packaging, but the white can get messy in the make up bag.
I found it a little tricky to use cause it’s compact and you can hardly tell if it’s being applied - it’s not obvious coverage.
Soft skin, controls shine, but personally I needed to reapply to keep the right amount of coverage going through the day.
Tips: Pop it in your bag for top ups.
Unfortunately due to Easter the package arrived late so didn't have as long as normal to trial. I wish I had longer to trial but will comment as much as I can.
This powder has a very lovely finish to it. Very even and fresh. It creates a lovely texture and makes it easy to blend bronzer and blush.
I am hesitant when it comes to coloured powder, I usually prefer translucent. I found the colour a touch orange when applied. Unsure if this was the wrong shade or if this is just the product.
It didn't look chalky at all. And you could definitely build the coverage up. I didn't try this powder without foundation under it yet but will be interested to see how that goes.
I have to wear a mask at work. Unfortunately this powder did transfer more that I would of liked. However saying that, it didn't move with sweat when working out etc.
I am excited to trial this product more and see other results.
I have mixed feelings about the Maybelline SuperStay 16hr Powder. I like using this powder to set my foundation because it has a nice matte finish and provides a little extra coverage. I didn't notice any oxidization which is a plus because I've tried plenty of powders that tend to go a bit orange when used over liquid foundation. This one stays true to colour and has a "stiffer" formula that lasts well during the day. I wouldn't say this powder is totally waterproof or sweatproof, unfortunately. The first time I used it, I sprayed my face with Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, then touched my face before the spray had fully dried and ALL the makeup on that area came right off. It will also completely come off if you happen to have a nap while wearing it and drool on yourself a little (not that this happened to me... ok it did, I'm a sleepy girl). I've also tried using it all over my face as a powder foundation. It claims to have full coverage, and I was able to build it up to a fairly high level of coverage, but it got increasingly cakey the more layers I applied and my skin looked incredibly dry as a result. If you already have great skin and just want to even it out a little, this would look nice on its own but if you have more to hide then this won't quite do it.
Tips: Ditch the sponge applicator that's included in the compact, and use a fluffy brush instead.
I love pressed powder and this Maybelline version is a great overall base. It’s a nice light coverage but possibly too sheer for those who want a fuller base. Although the packaging says ‘Full Coverage’ I really needed to swipe at least 3 times to get the coverage I wanted. Even better I used a damp sponge and found a better result than a dry one. The compact does come with a sponge but it’s really thin and I found if I replaced it with one of my own that was thicker it wouldn’t fit in the compact! I’d much prefer to forego the mirror than a space for a sponge, for that reason the packaging annoyed me and I may not repurchase. After a full day of wear I did need a bit of a touch up but for a powder this was a nice mattifying formula for me and looked great after using other products like highlighter and blush on top. There was little product transfer on my face mask (I wear one all day at work) which was great and my skin didn’t feel like it was caked on with foundation. Overall a nice inexpensive base.
Tips: Get your own sponge as the one provided is far too thin.
This powder is okay. It does what it said it would but is quite matte. On my dryer skin it did tend to go a bit cakey but I think this would work much better on more oily skin. Does add a bit of extra coverage which is always good Unsure how I feel about about the Talc in it though.
I have hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) due to medications I'm on, so I never wear foundation or powder as they always sweat off within a couple of hours. This powder stayed on my skin for most of the day, with decent coverage for a powder foundation - it says on the packaging that it's full coverage, and I'd say it's definitely at least medium coverage. I found it looked matte enough to cover any shine, but light enough that I didn't look like I was made of plastic. My redness was mostly covered, but it didn't do much for my undereye circles. However as it was a powder foundation it clung to my cheek pores and any dry patches/acne, so I wouldn't recommend it if you have textured skin. I tried it on top of the liquid foundation but there isn't really much point in wearing both - it's not intended as a setting powder.
Smudge-wise it didn't seem to noticeably lift when I touched my face, which I like. As for resisting sweat, it does seem to stay fairly intact with moderate sweating and only really moved when I was dripping in sweat from exercise - I don't know why anyone would actively choose to wear foundation for a workout, but if they did wear this one it wouldn't look terrible afterwards.
Overall, I'll probably reach for this to wear at work or in situations where I want to wear makeup without worrying about sweating through it, and maybe as a second foundation for dance/aerial performance makeup.
Tips: The mirror under the compact is pretty cute, but the sponge applicator they provide is thin and soaks all the product up so I would recommend a brush.
I had high hopes for this powder as Maybelline is one of my favourite drug store brands. I was disappointed with this unfortunately.
The sponge that comes with the compact is terrible and does not apply the powder very well. I do like that the compact has a mirror and clicks shut so it won’t open in your bag.
The powder itself is cakey, doesn’t blend well and you definitely need a brush to apply it.
After only an hour it started to separate on my skin and it looked really gross. My skin is quite oily but the powder showed me some dry patches I never knew I had! I also tried it with a primer and setting spray and it did the same thing and separated after about an hour.
I also tried it paired with the Maybelline 30hr foundation and it looked awful
