Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Review

So I decided to buy some Maybelline Great Lash - I haven't owned one of these candy pink and lime green sticks since the 90s! I have to say as a simple, everyday mascara it is great. I can thicken and lengthen my lashes easily (just don't let it dry between coats, keep working with it before it sets!) and I love the super dark colour it gives my lashes. I find the fact that it is a 'washable' mascara soooo good as I detest struggling to get mascara off at the end of the day... losing eyelashes and all in the process! I do find that formula wise it doesn't exactly 'solidify' hard on your eyelashes like some other mascaras (I personally dislike that brittle feeling some give) so in one way it is good but in the other way it can stray a bit so some touchups may be needed throughout the day. Overall I really like it.

I have owned this once and won't buy it again. I would say its an average mascara that gives very little length, it thickened my lashes slightly but it smudged so much. So basically it was all rubbed off by mid-day.

The brush was good , I actually would use it with other mascaras. The design of packaging is very pretty but that's about it.

It did what it said but took a while to dry enough that I didnt need to worry about it smudging under my eyes, but it did last all day.

Amazing product! It ayers on thick and make your lashes look extremely long. As awell as that, you can find it at a lot of places for a very cheap pirce. Only downside to this is that it takes a bit longer to dry compared to other products but i still highly recommend it!

this product is awesome and incredible for the price and quality! it is the perfect cheap mascara for extra fullness and for extremely long looking eyelashes. the brush i very ideal for applying precisely because it is not too big and there isn't heaps of excess mascara on the brush which is always good! the bad thing is that it does take a little longer to dry, but its still a very good product and would defiantly recommend it! overall this is an amazing product and defiantly worth your money.<3

The cute packaging and the great price lured me in a very long time ago as a wee beginner in this wild world of cosmetics...

I love the dark, blackest black it makes my lashes, but it takes FOREVER to dry, once it does finally dry (and I've cleaned up the remnants from everywhere else on my face) don't even THINK about applying another coat cause this baby is SET and going nowhere! Lasts ALL DAY though without smudging, which I never expected. And washes off like a dream! The struggles of getting most mascaras off are a trialing time for anyone!

I tried this mascara as it was getting a lot of hype for it and was a great price. I liked how it had a small wand to apply although I had to use a cotton tip to mop up mascara getting on my eyelids and underneath. I have sensitive eyes so although it did not irritate my eyes I found that by the end of the day I had smudging under the eyes. I wouldn't purchase this mascara again.

The packaging is cute and simple. It's compact, travel friendly and the colour is quite cute too. For me though, that's almost where all the good things end. I don't like the brush. It's too big and I feel that it makes application very messy and the product constantly flicks onto my lids. It doesn't thicken as it says it does and I find that there is almost no difference between wearing it and not wearing it. Sure, it lengthens and darkens them a bit but it doesn't give my lashes volume. I also find that it takes a very long time to dry so would not be good for those in a rush, and it might also be this same reason that causes this mascara to smudge super easily. One good thing about it is that it doesn't clump. It separates and would be good for an everyday, no-makeup makeup look or if you're just starting out with makeup. Personally though, I would not repurchase.

This is definitely a good mascara if you aren't prone to oily eyelids. It's great at separating your eyelashes and lengthening them. It also makes your lashes look quite natural. Having short lashes myself, I have found that other mascaras tend to make my eyelashes look quite clumpy on the second coat, but this isn't the case with this mascara. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

I do have oily eyelids and find this product does smudge, but really enjoy the look this mascara gives me so still continue to wear it. It smudges onto my actual eyelid and underneath my bottom lashes, but when I set my eye are really well after applying my foundation this does minimize the smudges. I also tend to apply this mascara first to get my lashes how I want them to look before applying a coat of another mascara that doesn't smudge, but I always make sure that the second mascara has minimal product on the brush so it doesn't look clumpy.

This mascara separates and lengthens your lashes well and doesn't tend to clump, however it doesn't give your lashes any volume or curl. It's really easy to remove, however it does tend to smudge a bit during the day, particularly under my lower lash line. Nice compact product which fits easily in my makeup bag and the brush isn't overly big which I like - means I don't hit my top eyelid with it! The mascara takes a while to dry so you need to wait a while after application. Although it is an affordable product, I think there are better on the market - but for the price it does the job.
