I am not too sure about this MAC product. I recently purchased this as I wanted a foundation with full cover and they (MAC)recommended this. It certainly gives you full coverage but it is very thick to apply and need to dig in to the compact as it is so thick to get out and you need a bit on the brush to apply. I also have found that this is a bit lighter (colour wise) than the equivalent colour in the liquid foundation so this product leaves me looking a bit pale. If I bought it again I would buy the next shade darker. At this stage I am not a fan, which is a shame as the idea of a foundation and powder all in one really appeals to me.

I very much like MAC products, im a huge fan of MAC lipsticks, eye shadows and pigments however I feel like their foundations and powders tend to be unsuitable for very sensitive skin. I used MAC products for Years when I was younger as I loved the coverage they gave, but the entire time I had watery eyes, excessive redness and soreness around the nose when using the products.. I switched about a year ago to different products and haven't had the problems since. I switched to Bobbi brown mineral foundation powder instead of this product and have recently switched again to ZA powder/foundation compact.
Tips: If you have sensitive skin I would recommend testing the products in store a couple times to see if they work for you as if you are prone to soreness, dryness and redness and/or break outs some of their products may not be the best for you.
I have a love hate relationship with this, some days i love it others not so much. I have come to the conclusion that I only like it for night time wear. It is full coverage, There is a good range of colors but i think for the price there are better products out there, but then every now and again i do my makeup and it just looks so perfect and lovely, so im always back and forth. It has good coverage, last all night, doesnt oxidise or go patchy but it looks powdery unless you use like a finishing mist
This used to be my favourite powder but that was because it was my first MAC one but then I've tried multiple powders after this and I don't think it's as great as people say it is.
For the price, you can get better face powders than this so I don't think it's worth purchasing. I'm on the fence on this one because sometimes it works great but sometimes it doesn't. It depends on what foundation I used too.
I bought this duty free on way to Australia as we don't have a local MAC shop, it's ok for day to day wear but does not provide coverage I had been suggested it wiuld
Tips: Make sure colour matches skin tone
I used to be obsessed with all things MAC. So I have bit of a collection gathering dust on my dresser table. But this powder, while it's good, it's not great. At least not for me. I found if I use it as a setting powder in particular places, it's excellent (i.e. under the eyes, around the mouth) but if I use it around my nose, it makes my skin very, very dry - regardless of how well I prepare it. So I don't use it as an all-over face powder, just in specific spots that I want to set.
A lot of people are saying they use this powder to set their foundation, when I do this I end up with cakey skin and makeup that doesn't last long! Slides off.
Their are a large variety of shades in this product which is a big plus, however the NC and NW aspect can get confusing! A lot of people love this powder foundation but it is just not compatible with my skin unfortonately!! I prefer revlon Photoready as I have oily skin.
Tips: Get matched at a counter
I was given this by my sister who has quite dry skin and didn't like it, and have tried it both as a stand alone foundation and as a powder over top. While it does give you a gorgeous complexion as a foundation, I found in certain areas it was flaky, even when applied with a brush over moisturizer and mac primer. Depending on what liquid foundation I use, it can either be a great powder over top, or make your skin look a little rough. I think this would be a great product for people with more oily skin, I just can't figure it out for my dry/combination skin though. It also runs out very quickly, I barely use mine and I can already see the bottom of the compact.
Well hello there MAC.
So I recently bought this powder to try again, I used it a few years ago and wasn't sold on it. After using another powder religiously for a few years I thought I'd give it another try and boy I'm glad I did.
Last Sunday I decided to try it on it's own. I have combination skin, my cheeks are dry and I get a bit oily on my chin and forehead. I used a nourishing moisturiser beforehand and it went on very nicely. It gave me a very matte look though which I'm not too keen on personally as it showss up all my bumps, but when my skin is more on the oily side I will probably use it on its own more often.
I use it in the NC15 shade, which is still a little bit too dark for me but coming up summer it should be perfect.
On a regular day I use it with a powder brush to set my foundation. Not heaps but just enough to set my foundation and give me a bit of extra coverage.
It comes in the iconic MAC packaging and also with a sponge. I use the sponge when I'm out and need a top up.
I also wear glasses, and honestly the amount of times I've given up using a foundation or powder for this reason.. No but seriously, where your glasses sit on your nose, when your glasses leave you with dents/wipe off your makeup, it's so annoying. I'm happy to say after 8 hours at work, I only needed to fix up that area once! And the rest of my face didn't need touching up, and that's pretty much why I'll be buying it again!
Tips: Dry skin be careful if you're using on it's own as it sticks to dry patches, or just use a heavy moisturiser!
The only time I ever use this powder is over a light coverage dewy foundation or a BB cream in the summer time. I would never use this as a setting powder for foundation as it cakes up so much and goes all patchy and weird. It definitely clings to dry patches if I haven't moisturised enough. I don't think using it to set foundation is it's purpose because it is a powder FOUNDATION itself, not a setting powder.
