So creamy

So I was lucky enough to receive the lipstick in the March beauty box in the colour pomegranate which is a bright pink colour I love that we get a surprise and we are pushed out of our comfort zone to try new things and experiment with new colours. So I tried it and it is just a tad too bright I don't think I suit bright colours with my little thin lips however I loved the creamy texture and feel of this on my lips so I went and brought one in a lighter shade called flushed fuchsia!

The casing is square shape with a gold lid and the bit at the bottom is the colour of the lipstick. The flushed fuchsia is a peach colour it's quite shimmery and almost like a bit of a gloss. I live with these lipsticks the trademark Max Factor X is embossed on the actual lipstick which is pretty cool. It lasts a couple of hours if I'm not eating or drinking much.

It's easy to apply and just glides on because it is so creamy. I love the feel of this on my lips it's not drying they feel quite moisturised and soft. I can't wait to buy more colours in this range I may even pluck up the courage to try the bright coloured pink again.

Bewitching Coral!

I love pinks and corals. So, when I saw The Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick in Bewitching Coral in the March Beauty Box, I was extremely excited. Also, because I hadn't tried the Max Factor brand before.

Bewitching Coral is a very lovely vivid bright pink shade with a hint of coral in it. It is almost a fuchsia shade but with a hint of coral. I like the way how it instantly brightens my face. The lipstick is very highly pigmented. One swipe will show enough color on the lips. I really liked the pigmentation in the lipstick, but if you prefer sheer or less opaque shades, you can apply little of the lipstick with the lip brush and top it off with a lip gloss. It applies creamy and smoothly. I liked the creme formula of the lipstick and I loved the pigmentation and the lasting power. It lasts a really long time on the lips (8 hours and I could still see the pretty lip stain).

It smells good. It does have a slight vanilla scent to it which I find very pleasant. This lipstick comes in a glossy gold body. with the color represented at the bottom of the lipstick with a transparent covering. The shade reflected at the bottom is exactly the shade of the lipstick.

It doesn't settle into fine lines or accentuate dryness on my lips. I feel its very light on my lips. There is no prominent shimmer in it, but since its a creamy lipstick , it does add a little bit of shine and does not sit flat on the lips. I would be purchasing other shades from this range as I loved their pigmentation and the lasting power.

Gorgeous formula!

I'm new to lipstick - only started wearing brights this year! So when my March Beauty Box had a bright lippy in it I was super excited to add to my collection, especially because I've never tried Max Factor lipstick and this is a colour I don't have. In fact, the colour I received ( shade 827; Bewitching Coral) is not one I ever would have chosen for myself as I was working on the mistaken belief that I don't suit coral. This lipstick (and the insistence of my best friend haha) has convinced me otherwise, and I'm actually loving this look.

These lipsticks look high-end and expensive. They are packaged in square gold tubes with rounded edges and a bar of the colour at the bottom. What you see in the bar is very true to the colour of the product. When you pop the gold cap off, the interior circular tube is also gold. The lipstick is embossed with the Max Factor 'X' logo, and (as I said before) looks really impressively expensive. This alone would make it a great present for someone - it won't break the bank but looks and feels higher-end to use.

The formula is incredibly creamy, and feels amazing on your lips. Pigmentation is strong, and colour builds rapidly for a dynamic pop. Because it's creamy, it doesn't really dry/set and therefore transfers, but enough stays on your lips for a pretty sheen of colour that - while less impactful - is still evident and attractive. There is a faint scent to the lipstick, but nothing distinctive or obtrusive.

I'm keen to search out other colours in the range as well. Very impressed!

Max Factor Virgin

This is my first ever Max Factor product, thanks March BRBB. I received the shade Sunbronze, a nice reddish brown that I would not have normally picked for myself but is a beautiful shade. Overall the packaging is quite upmarket in its golden case with the color of the lipstick within handily showing on the bottom and the lipstick itself is embossed with an X on the side.

It applies very well, a nice smooth and creamy consistency that just glides on.

The staying power is about what you would expect of a lipstick, a couple of hours. It does kind of stain your lips, but in a good way. The finish is what I would call satin, just a hint of sheen.

I wouldn't repurchase as for the same price or cheaper I feel you can get superior products that last longer and don't have the odd taste this brand does. I feel like its quite perfumed and the taste is not to my liking,I prefer a fruity taste in a lip product.

Tips: If you want a glossier finish just add a bit of lip gloss to bump up shine, if you like it more matte just blot with tissue paper as it stains your lips and you won't loose the colour of the lipstick.

Mmm, Raisins!

I don't actually like raisins. And I was on the fence about this color. I was given the color Raisin by the BR babes in the BRBB, and sadly, it wasn't love at first sight.

Sure, the tube is gorgeous. I love the little teaser of color at the bottom of the tube, encased in a clear plastic. The gold tube is elegant, and the lippy slides up and down easily. The color I received was a few shades darker than my natural lip color with a little red/pinky tinge to it. It was actually very natural and looked pretty nice on me.

The formula was lovely and creamy, but I didn't notice anything spectacular about the staying power. I used it in the "look" I created with things from the BRBB - but that was probably the only time I wore it. I have regifted it since to my momma, as she thinks bright frosted pink is the color for her - we have the same skin tone and NO it is not! I wouldn't go actively searching for this lippy to repurchase, but I would look at swatches and things of the sort, if I was in the market for lipstick (I won't be for a long time!)

Burnt caramel

This is my new favourite lipstick! I got the shade burnt caramel - which has actually nailed the perfect colour for me. It is creamy, warm, neutral and a beautiful mix of brown and pink. Has a matte finish without feeling too drying.

The lipstick is very moisturising and has good staying power. I love the luxurious packaging - gold case and the lipstick itself has an X carved into the side. The lipstick also has a mild delicious scent of caramel.

Overall, I love this lipstick. Beauty Box win!

Tips: Dab your lips with a tissue to make it last longer

Long lasting

Ruby Tuesday - is a bit more pink when on than I expected, but I've grown to like it. Packaging is good & the lid stays on easily if you click it. When to raise the stick right up there is the X embossed :) I like that. Application is smooth & feels nourishing. This feeling doesn't last all day, but when you check on it, there is still plenty of colour. When drinking, eating or inadvertantly coming into contact with fingers, tissues etc, there is some transfer, but a lot less than other lipsticks I've used. Easy to get through a working day with only a couple of reapplications. - although you might want a few more to enjoy the moisturising feeling when first on.

Max Factor Elixir Lipstick

So Im more of a lip balm girl, but I tried this Max Factor lipstick, and it looks good, and I might just be converted! Its really nice on and the shade I got was very good for my skin tone and it wasnt too bold and out there, I prefer to have very subtle shades it was a bit more than I was use to but it was suited it me well, I will definitely use it when I go out !

Leaves a bad tase in my mouth!

I love the colour of the this. I had never thought of myself as a feminine dusty rose colour fan. I have always been red, red and more red. I decided when the post was put up about trying a new look that I would give more neutral and less stand out colours a chance so that is when I took a tight grasp on this ray of sunshine and gave it a go.

I love the feminine and classy tube it comes in. Gold with the familiar X on the lid. What I love more is that they took time to make it stand out and got the X imprinted in to the lipstick itself. That to me shows that they take pride in their brand and don't do a shoddy job of presenting it. Wind that baby up and there is a faded purple/pink stick of loveliness to behold. It even smells pleasant and not all chemical like. All ticks so far!

I puckered my kissers and gently glided the lipstick along them, rubbing them together afterwards so that I wouldn't overdo it. I checked them out and hello what do you know I love the colour ad the way it looks on me. It's subtle compared to what I am used to but I love the classy, natural-ish look it gives me. The colour is just as it looks in the tube and just pops when applied to the lips.

I love how it makes my lips feel after applying it. The smooth suppleness of my kissers felt great. This is without a balm or lip scrub....SCORE! What surprised me even more is the staying power it has even after eating and drinking. This is where the good stuff stops for me though. Whenever I licked my lips, drank, ate or breathed a chemical taste is left on my tongue making my face screw up in disgust. It really has put me off using it because the taste is just too overpowering to handle for me despite the gorgeous colour and how it looks on me. To sum it up I love everything about it besides the bad taste and that for me is a deal breaker unfortunately.

Tips: Put a balm or gloss over top that tastes nice because the chemical taste is leaves in your mouth really isn't pleasant.

Sunbronze

I received this lipstick in the March BR beauty box in the shade sunbronze- a slightly bronzed peachy shade with a slight metallic shimmer.

This is a product that stands out and grabs attention because of the flashy gold packaging with the X logo printed on the cap, it's also etched on the lipstick itself which is a nice touch, very professional looking.

The lipstick formula is as one would imagine based on the reputation of the brand and the fancy packaging, great quality that it is. It's creamy, highly pigmented, keeps lips supple, and glides on smoothly. Staying power is average, after eating and drinking reapplication is called for.

After wearing this lipstick a few times I decided that the shade just wasn't for me so i've passed it on, unfortunately for me as it's a lovely lipstick. I'd consider buying it if I saw it in a shade that I loved and it was on special, but otherwise while it's a quality product boasting a beautiful formula it doesn't stand out to me as being anything out of the ordinary as far as a good lipstick goes.
