Pretty good mattes

Really lovely colours and such great colour pay off, not all of the colours last all day but the more neutral shade last ages.

Tips: Make sure to prep your lips before use

Affordable POP!

I have never actually bought any colorpop but I have definitely fallen in love with the Matte Lipstick. I was given three gorgeous shades, Dr M which is a moss green colour, and Zipper which is a dark fuchsia and Privacy Please which is an electric lavender colour according to my eyes. I am all for bold in your face colours and these babies really deliver that in you face feeling.

Upon checking the price of them, they are one of the most affordable liquid mattes on the market which makes it so much better for someone like me who is on a budget. The packaging is simple but I like how you can see the colour you are buying through the clear tube. It has a silver lid which gives it a sense of bling. The applicator wand I have to admit is not my fave. It is a spongey feeling end which gathers too much product. It can be hard to get my lip lines straight without having to fix it with a makeup wipe, therefore, wiping off a bit of foundation in the process.

The formula can be quite thick and sticky but once I mastered the application process of less is more I got the hang of it. Once dry oh what a sight to behold! The colour is bold, it's true to the swatches and looks great on. I have worn it out on the town and out shopping. The stay power is actually really amazing. It has a small amount of wear as you would expect when eating and drinking but for the most part it is intact. The only thing that annoys me is when it flakes after wearing for more than 4 hours. The lipstick dries more and flakes off. Also it is quite drying on the lips so I make sure I use lipbalm underneath to prevent that and the flaking too.

In summary for the price and the awesome colour selection I would say this is top five of my fave liquid mattes. It definitely competes with the high end brands that I love which is surprising. It has all I want. Stay power check, boldness check, matte formula check, affordable check. I can't really go wrong here. Seriously give them a go!

Tips: Use a lipbalm either underneath or over top to help keep lips moisturised

Great matte for sharp lips

If you want a matte that dries down and doesn't overly dry out your lips then you need to try Colourpop's ultra matte lips. I have a huge selection of these now ranging from reds, purples, nudes to pinks. I love them all equally and have found that although they can get very dry my lips are not ravaged.

As routine I do scrub my lips daily to prevent build up of dead skin and keep them supply and smooth, this with a layer of balm under the matte helps to keep your lips in good condition, the matter still stays strong and doesn't slip all over the place.

Easily removed with an oil based cleanser, or just a dollop of oil on the lips. They are long wearing and only the centre wears down with the excessive use of mouth for talking, eating and drinking. Not objectifying to being topped up with more matte lip without pilling and flaky.

Almost kylie? Nah

Most people say that this is a dupe for Kylie's Matte Liquid Lipsticks but I think that its not. I own both Kylie and Colourpop and the formulation is really different.

Colourpop Ultramatte: - The formulation is not lightweight as compared to Kylie's - The smell is way different, this has a neutral scent while Kylie's has a sweet scent - This is more long lasting than Kylie's - It's drying compared to Kylie's - It's not true to its shades/colors compared to Kylie's, I suggest you go for 1 shade darker than what you see in their sample picture shade

Overall, this is a good product because it's affordable and fun to use. There are actually range of colors/shades compared to Kylie's collection. It gives a tint on your lips that makes it look long lasting. They also have a different formula which is the satin, this is a non drying formula so I suggest you give it a try if you love Colourpop Matte because you'd definitely love it too.

Tips: Use a lip balm or lip primer before using it because it will make your lips dry

Beautiful matte lippies

These are gorgeous, pigmented liquid lipstick that are definitely light weight. I’ve got lots or different colours including dark and bold colours. For the price they are amazing. They last all day but they tend to feel a bit drying on the lips. Wearing a creamy lip liner underneath does help a little bit with that though. Also some of the darker colours can tend to be a little bit streaky but I still find them super easy to use and I love them so much. Careful because the darker colours can stain the lips a bit and the shades tend to dry darker then what they look like in the bottle.

Tips: Definitely exfoliate lips, and use creamy lip liner so the lips don’t look flakey and lips don’t feel as dry.

Affordable matte liquid lipstick

The shade range is great and they do have some funky shades too for Halloween looks and party looks. The formula is a little on the dry side. ColourPop was my first liquid matte lip and when I had nothing to compare, I thought they were awesome. But now that I have tried others, their formula is certainly not the most comfortable. But seeing that they are at this price, what more do you ask for?

Tips: ColourPop often has special offers and occasions free shipping (international too!), so be in their mailing list and just keep checking. Use a heavy lip balm before using this matte lip, wipe it off before applying the product.

really good! totally addicted

so, i got on this matte lipstick train at a late time (after the crazy has kinda passed). but i have no regrets, it gave me the opportunity to get my head around the product and save and get heaps all at once hahaha. so i got quite a few...about 15 to be exact. mostly nudes and pinks.

now these mattes are interesting. they look great in the tube. they look ok on your arm swatch. then it looks completely different when you apply to your lips. so that's a bit annoying lol. the pigment in my lips darkens the colour and i'm not too keen in the bold dark lip anymore. also...they are VERY drying on me. i constantly have peeling flaking lips.

Tips: * put a lip balm or primer on before applying these * pale out your lips with foundation or a concealer * do a gentle lip scrub when you take it off at the end of the day

Bigger, Bolder Lips.. Guarenteed!

I own the shades, Creeper (the perfect red, bright, vibrant.. to die for) and LAX (a deep, rich, red toned brown/maroon-ey colour).

PROS: The PIGMENT IS EVERYTHING. These Lipstick's have the most incredible colour pay off - one swatch or brush against your lip and, BOOM, colour in all it's vibrancy. The quality of the colour is unreal for what you pay for these lipsticks. I have had so many compliments on both shades. LONGWEARING: Well folks, they certainly do as they say... these bad boys are incredibly long wearing and they don't transfer unless they get wet (either with a drink or I notice towards the inner of my lips where the saliva is). I actually just wore Creeper yesterday and it lasted all day, every time I went to the mirror thinking I needed a touch up, it was still looking fantastic and no touch up was required (so technically, you're saving product and therefore money!) EASY TO USE: These bad boys are fantastic and easy to apply, the applicator that it comes with is easy to create a nice clean line around your lips and if needed using a smaller detail brush is easy too as although the product dries quickly, it's not so quick that you don't have enough time to work with it.

CONS: The only con is that the lipsticks are quite drying... but that is the risk with any Matte Lipstick.. let's be real. However, it's not drying to the point of peeling/crumbling after time which is a pet hate of mine. So, although it is drying, it's something that I can cope with and doesn't stop me from reaching for these lipsticks over and over again.

CONLUSION: DO IT, it's worth the money, it's worth your time. These lipsticks are QUALITY, I can't actually wrap my head around how cheap they are for the fantastic product you are getting.

Tips: Lip scrub/exfoliate and a nice deep lip moisturiser with help with application and your lips not drying out too much.

Bumble and Notion

I have two of these liquid matte lipsticks and I am just itching for more!!

Bumble is hands down the best matte lipstick I have ever tried. The colour is a dusky rosey pink which glides on perfectly and dries to a perfect matte. It doesn't bleed and it doesn't transfer. It wears well throughout the whole day with only the smallest amount of wear on the inside edge of my lips.

HOWEVER...Notion is the second colour I own in the ultra matte lipstick. It has a very deep purpley pink (described as deepened raspberry on Colour Pop's site, though I feel like it's too purple for raspberries). It has the same consistency, it applies and wears very well. But here's the kicker: it transfers a lot and it bleeds a little. It's still become one of my favourite lip colours to wear and I endure it's downfalls for that reason. Removing it was quite hard as the deep colour somewhat stained my lips and slid AROUND my lips to slightly stain my face... not cool... but with a few extra minutes work and some extra wipes I was able to get rid of it all. So BE CAREFUL.

All up I think each colour of the ultra mattes are going to be different, but I have faith that they'll all give you that snap chat worthy pout you're looking for.

Tips: 1. Buy Bumble, it is amazing. 2. Some of them might be hard to remove / slide over your face when you go to remove them, so be extra careful when wiping or using makeup balm. Especially if you have a very bold colour.

colourpop

I was obsessed with this liquid lipstick and as crazy as it may seem but I do have about 80% of the liquid lipstick colours!!! from matte to satin to metallic and lippiestix. Its great how it doesn't come easily or doesn't transfer. It does make your lips a bit dry depending on the lipstick you're using and the content of it. But for the price, its so cheap and its good for everyday use.
