My Holy Grail Foundation

Foundation is the one product I have never fallen in love with. I have tried them all – from Rimmel to Estee Lauder, Revlon to Clarins. I never understood the double wear hype, and I have far too many unfinished bottles of foundation. I have combination/oily skin and like a medium-full coverage foundation. I thought my search for the perfect foundation would never end, until I discovered Loreal True Match.

This isn’t a new foundation. Lauren Curtis raves about it and it’s everywhere in the US drug stores. It was on my list of foundations to try and I don’t know why it took me so long to actually get this brilliant product onto my face. The first thing that caught my attention was the shade selection, which is on the larger side. These are available in Farmers, so you can play all you like until you feel confident that you are walking away with the right shade. I have fair skin and fake tan, but still struggle to get a shade that doesn’t wash me out, yet isn’t too dark. Fake tanners face the dilemma between having a foundation that is golden, but not orange. Farmers had a buy one get one half price deal at the time, so I picked up two shades, which have both been perfect for my different stages of fake tan. This foundation is a standard NZ priced foundation, on par with Revlon. The packaging is sturdy with a pump that doesn’t dispense too much product.

When applying Loreal True Match foundation for the first time I noticed that I used a lot less product to achieve the coverage that I wanted, but without looking heavy or cakey. Because of this, the bottle will last me much longer than foundation has in the past. The foundation is thin and lightweight, but provides a medium, buildable to full coverage. It blends well, and provides even coverage over the skin, without breaking up or latching onto certain parts of the face. The end result without powder sits somewhere between matte and dewy, and can go either way if you use mattifying products, or creamy products for a dewy finish. I personally finish off with Australis Fresh and Flawless, because when I wear foundation I do like a complete, flawless and long lasting finish. I still can’t stop staring at my skin after applying this foundation and the best part.. it looks just as good when I arrive home for the day! I have been wearing Loreal True Match for a month now, and every evening I am still so impressed. Absolutely none of the foundation wears away, the coverage remains perfect, but it doesn’t feel heavy. It doesn’t oxidise or alter at all during the day. I do get shiny after 4-6 hours, so blotting or powdering once in the middle of the day is needed to keep the foundation perfect. This foundation has not affected my skin at all, and it has been prone to blemishes and dry patches caused by foundation in the past.

Loreal True Match has become my holy grail foundation – something that I never thought I would find. If you are looking for a flawless, all day finish then I 100% recommend.

Tips: Make sure to moisturise as this foundation dries quickly.

My go to foundation

This foundation is extremely versatile, I use a small amount for a light coverage daily, but because it is so build-able, I can also apply more and get a fuller coverage for a night out. I no longer need two foundations for these two uses as I have this one!! Secondly, the foundation feels light on the skin, and I don't notice I am wearing foundation until I look in the mirror. Lastly, the application is so simple, the formula makes it easy to blend out that I can apply it in under a minute!!

Tips: Use a Kabuki style brush to apply as it is faster and the formula allows for it :)

loreal true match super blendable foundation

this foundation comes in a small glass bottle, there is no pump which means it tips out fast and you need to be careful of spilling it.it comes to suit your skin tone eg neutral, warm or coll and numbered 1 to 5 ,1 being the lightest shade 5 being the darkest,i have a neutral skin tone so mine was n 5 (true beige)it is very blendable when applying to your skin, the coverage is full and its very buildable, and its spf17.i would buy it again, and i would recomend it if you want a full coverage ,blendable product, the only problem was theres no pump on the bottle.

Tips: apply with a damp sponge ot foundation brush, set with powder for a great matte finish

More than satisfied

This is a must have foundation. Its very versatile and can be used in small amounts to get enough coverage for a day look, or you can build it up for a night time look. Although i do have very oily skin and i found it didn't go too great with it and i found myself needing to use my setting powder which isnt too much of an issue! Overall gives a great finish and great coverage

Tips: Use with setting powder

Not for me

I had really big expectations for this foundation, coverage was good application was good but even after setting it it just seemed to move around a lot. I have normal to dry skin. Maybe I need to play around with some different primers. Any tips?

MY GO TO ABSOLUTE FAV!!!!!

So my skin tone is very strange as it gives off yellow, pink and neutral undertones making it hard for me to find a foundation that matches me perfectly without having to buy two shades and mixing them together to get my desired colour. this foundation has made this so much easier for me as it matches me perfectly!! Also giving me a flawless finish. It applies so evenly with only one coat needed and feels weightless on your skin. i would highly highly recommend this to EVERYBODY out there!

Match Made In Heaven

I thought I would try this foundation as heard it was really similar to my all time face MAC Studio fix and boy were people right. I LOVE IT, I’m on my third bottle of it and it’s definitely my every day foundation for work, it’s a lot runnier than the MAC one but the coverage is nearly the same, abit more natural not as high coverage which I prefer for daytime anyway. Im a W4 (MAC NC30) and it matches me perfectly. I apply it with a flat top kabuki brush and it applies so nicely, I’ve tried beauty blender with it as well and gives it a more of a natural light to medium coverage when done with that. The annoying thing however is once you’ve gotten near bottom of the bottle the pump stops working even though you still have about ¼ product left and would last you another month if you could get into the bottle, so a lot of product waste

Tips: prefer to apply it with a brush

True colour match

I'm on a mission to find that perfect foundation and I am getting rather annoyed with half bottles and trying every brand that is readily available. For years, before my skin was dry and manky and with the added bonus of lines I went through bottle after bottle of L'Oreal infallible. So was more than excited to try this one. I have W4 natural beige.

The bottle is a little 30ml with a screw top lid. It has no pump just a big opening where the foundation comes out (rather fast too)

One thing I really liked about this foundation is it has an SPF 17, we all know the effects the sun has on our skin so the more creams and foundations we put on ourselves with an SPF in it the better.

The foundation itself is really runny. It almost runs off the back of my hand while I'm trying to apply it. I apply it using a brush then a blender and it looks good it has a light to medium coverage but I can't build it up anymore otherwise it gets far too cakey, which is my problem with this foundation its cakey and settles in lines with only a light amount of it on my skin. And I can promise I have tried different bases, no base, just moisturiser and nothing works. I never use a setting powder because it makes my skin look even more dry so i need a dewy or satin finish foundation and this definitely leans towards a matte finish.

This is beyond disappointing because the colour is perfect and matches my skin perfectly and as well as that it goes on and stays on I do get 6-7 hours wear out of it and it doesn't change or move but it is easy to remove with make up remover. I really think this would be a great foundation if you have young normal skin with no lines. And with that my search still continues....

True Match

I really like this L'Oreal True match foundation. I have two versions one with the pump and one without which I think you can get from the US. The one with the pump is what we get here in NZ and I really like it.

The foundation has SPF 17 which is always great to have and the coverage is really good. You can build this up too for full coverage but overall, it's a great foundation.

The foundation isn't too liquidy and I like the finish. Not matte but not too dewy either. I have the shade N7 Amber with the pump which is good for summer and I have W3 Nude beige in the small bottle w/o a pumo which is a great match. I don't know why there are two versions of this foundation but they both work well.

In My Top 5 Favs!

The L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Foundation is one of my all time favourite drugstore foundations! I use the one without the pump as its cheaper to buy (online) It has a very runny consistency, I would say its a medium to full coverage very buildable foundation which I love! Its not super matte or drying but its definitely not dewy either. I don't use a powder over many of my foundations as I have very dry skin and I find this stays all day without a powder! Its for sure in my top 5 favs! I use a beauty blender or a flat top brush to apply and its easy to apply and blend with both!
