Classic ivory

I was so looking forward to the arrival of this product ,it’s so hard to choose a new foundation in the shops and I often end up with one that just isn’t right for me .

I love loreal products in general so was hoping it lived up to my expectations . And wow it exceeded them .

Certainly ticks all my boxes .,and why I’ve rated it so high .

I loved the size of the tube ,so easy to slip into your handbag . It’s a lovely thin liquid ,not thick and glucky ,so easy to apply . At first I thought the colour might be a little light even for my pale complexion ,but that wasn’t the case ,once I blended it ,it was actually the best match I’ve ever found for my skin tone .

And yes it did give my skin a nice healthy glow to it .coverage was listed as moderate ,however it covered all my imperfections just fine .

I am very impressed with this foundation and have decided to change from my existing one .

Price wise it is reasonable too ,I’ve yet to see how it wears during the day ,but I can come back and let you know . I would highly recommend this to all my female friends and family . It is a must have for me . Thank you for this opportunity ,it had allowed me to finally find the right foundation for me .

I also love it has a SPF factor a plus In my books .

Tips: I found you don’t actually need a lot to get good coverage ,as it glides on and blends in very well ,so use it sparingly .

I found the foundation lasted as well as any other ,maybe a little longer ,my problem areas, my chin with broken veins needed a touch up ,but does with any foundation I use .

Initially I thought there was a glow to my skin but found that it doesn’t seem to be the foundation ,maybe lots of moisturiser underneath ,I feel it should add more of a glow as that what it states ,probably my only dissatisfaction of the product

I liked the coverage too - it evens out my complexion very well.

I was surprised at the level of coverage ,as I have redness in places ,a few age spots and broken veins ,it did a good job making my skin almost look flawless .

Also like to add shake the tube well before each application . I found the foundation stayed on as well as any of my others . When first applied it was very pale,I looked white ,but it tends to change ,after a few minutes .has yellowish tonings.

Love that glow!

I applied this foundation using F80 kabuki brush. It’s not the perfect shade for me but the product was very easy to blend, and gave me a medium coverage on one application. The consistency is quite runny, watery. The ‘glow’ this foundation gave is very nice and natural. I love a good glow and this foundation will make you glow all over .

I have combination skin with some dry patches on some parts of my face - this foundation did not accentuate the dry patches at all.

The past couple of days were very humid and I wore this foundation to work -a total of 10 hours , my blush/bronzer remained intact. I was sweating on and off (not heavily) but the foundation did not melt. I didn’t get shiny either.

Very lightweight, I did not feel that I have foundation on my face but when I touch my face, the foundation felt a bit tacky on my hand.

Con: limited shade range available in New Zealand unlike the Loreal true match.

Tips: A little goes a long way

Creamy Natural Glow

This product comes in a no-nonsense plastic tube. Simple, with a black screw top. On the back it describes which finish, wear time, coverage and texture relate to that product, which is very helpful if you’re looking at the range in a store. I didn’t read it before I tried the product (you don’t consult the map until you’re lost, right?). If I had, I would’ve noticed it said ‘radiant finish, 24 hours wear, medium coverage, and air-light texture’. And I would’ve been very happy with those claims.

So, the product colour I chose is creamy natural, which is ideal for my skin tone, which is light/medium, my skin type which is dry, and my complexion which is uneven but not overly so. It is kind-of pale brown and you can see it through the tube. The product is surprisingly thin. As I was applying it I was struck by how light it is and how much like CC cream the finish is. I use CC cream and usually tinted foundation every day, as I like to keep things as light as possible and that combination works well. I do use foundation for various occasions though. And I do sometimes just use CC cream if I’m not going too far that day. I found that this foundation covers both CC cream and tinted foundation in one so I can use it alone. The coverage isn’t heavy, so wouldn’t cover a lot of major blemishes, but that’s fine by me as it is perfectly able to cover my skin imperfections. I dot it on my face, as recommended on the pack, and roll it around with my beauty blender, for a smooth finish. The finish is radiant, as per the product claim.

I would say this foundation is ideal for anyone to use, but may be particularly suitable for young skin that doesn’t require heavy coverage, and mature skin that often looks unnatural under heavy foundation. But having said that, it really is ideal for anyone who likes or requires a light to moderate coverage and who likes the finish of a face that started with CC cream.

It lasts me all day at work, so 7am until 5.30pm, but I wash my face when I get home so don’t know how much longer it would last. It is as easily removed as any other foundation. I use a cleanser and wipes and it doesn’t leave any trace on my skin.

Another positive is that it is SPF15 rather than no SPF which is usual for the products I normally use. I really like it!

$40 is certainly a fair price for this product. I’ve found some great foundations via BR over the years, but this one is amongst the best for my skin colour and type, because of its lightness and the ‘CC’effect. I highly recommend it.

Tips: Apply to clean, moisturised, skin with a beauty blender and blend blend blend for a radiant smooth finish.

Dewy Skin Dream!

If you are someone who loves a full coverage matte finish, then this is NOT the foundation for you. However, if you love natural glowing skin, get excited!

I am somebody who loves to mix my foundations with strobe cream or similar, to make it lighter consistency and to add a glow to my skin. I particularly like to do this in the summer when I have a more tanned face, and it's so warm, heavy makeup would otherwise sweat off! The Pro Glow is essentially a pre-mixed foundation and strobe cream - perfect for me!

This foundation comes in a similar size bottle to the Infallible Matte, except it's more flat then round. The formula is really runny, my first time using it I squeezed out way too much because I wasn't expecting it to be such a thin liquid-type consistency.

it's so easy to apply, smooth and light, it glides on. I prefer to apply foundation with a dense flat top brush, and these types of brushes are perfect for buffing in this foundation. I haven't tried it with a beauty blender.

I have tried applying this over a few different primers; Becca Backlight Primer, Too Faced Hangover X and MAC Strobe Cream - all very hydrating and brightening primers to enhance the finish. Personally I wouldn't use this over a mattifying primer, because I think that defeats the purpose.

My skin looks so smooth and healthy, I have received lots of compliments. Once you have set your under-eyes, bronzed etc, you are left with a really soft, natural glow - not a shiny or greasy finish.

I don't know that I agree with a 24 hour lasting power - does anyone wear makeup for that long? However my skin still looks good at the end of the day, so that's a thumbs up from me!

Tips: Don't set your entire face with powder, just the areas that you need (e.g. under-eyes and any areas you get oily) otherwise that can mattify the glow!

Matched My Winter Skin

L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation I think would be the most natural foundation I have ever tried. My neck does seem capable of naturally tanning, so I often have to work the product into my neckline to match this white bit of skin. But this product (shade 201, Classic Ivory) did match that skin perfectly. I have never seen such a perfect match. The downside was, it hid the slight tan I'd managed to get on my face.

Bringing it back to the product, the packaging fitted in with the rest of the infallible line, but I prefer the design of the matte tube, which has a nozzle to control the product flow. Because this was quite a liquid-y foundation, I was concerned about how much product was coming out when. Although because I was careful I had no mishaps.

In terms of that 24hr glow, the finish is described as radiant, I would describe it more as natural. The coverage is said to be medium, I would overall agree, though I have encountered heavier mediums. And the texture is described as air-light. I would totally agree. If you don't like a heavy foundation, you should try this. And in terms of 24 hours. I think 8 hours would be closer to accurate. The foundation is also described as never dull, never greasy. I tend to agree with that as well.

I love the infallible range, but I prefer other foundations in the range that are more heavy in terms of coverage and the punch they pack. But I think this is a great addition for the people who don't want a pound of foundation on their face.

Tips: If you are pale and struggle to find a foundation pale enough, Classic Ivory from this range may be your new HG.

Finally a dry skin foundation!

I did not know what to expect with this foundation when it arrived at my door but I have been pleasantly surprised by it.

As a person with dry skin I've found so many product cater to oily skin for foundation but this L'oreal Paris Pro-Glow promised to hydrate my skin and leave a natural looking glow. Although the product itself is a very liquid-type formula which I found it applied well. After trying application with a brush, my fingers and a beauty blender it was clear that the beauty blender worked best. The foundation was a true medium coverage as a step up from a BB/CC cream but not an 'airbrush' flawless look. I enjoyed the natural look it gave it and healthy glow as the colour was a great match for my own skin. In terms of '24hr long lasting' I didn't test this promise in full but on a hot, sweaty night out it stayed on really well. This product is a fantastic substitute for an expensive MAC one with similar results.

Tips: Apply with a beauty blender for best finish as the product isn't mousse-like!

L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

I am light/fair skinned, it is usually dry and I get occasional dry and flaky patches.

I got the colour 202 Creamy Natural and although it was the best colour match (after checking out the colour range at Farmers), I found that this shade looked slightly grey after applying it on to my face. However, after applying concealer and bronzer, the greyness was less noticeable.

The formula was very runny and blended well into my skin. The packaging recommends using a rolling motion so I tried using my fingers, and a damp beauty blender and found that a damp beauty blender worked the best for me as it gave the most natural and even finish and also dries to the touch. The coverage is buildable but I'd say more towards the light end.

On the skin, the foundation felt very light, which I really liked. The finish to look quite dewy and natural. It isn't quite highlighter-level glow but nice for everyday use. I found that because my skin can be quite dry, I could get away with not using a setting powder and/or setting spray but using them helped a the foundation last a bit longer throughout the day. I can't be sure if it would last 24 hours, but for a normal 8-10 hour day, it held up for me.

In terms of its hydrating effect, I still found that I preferred to wear a light moisturiser underneath. I had a dry patch on my cheek while testing this and I was very impressed that it did not emphasise the flakiness, especially after applying and setting my make up. At the end of my day, the area did start to get a little dry but overall, I couldn't really tell. I also haven't had any issues with breakouts so far.

The packaging nice and simple, the bottle is nice and slim. The bottle says to shake well but because the formula is so runny, it does tend to leak out into the lid - regardless of whether it is shaken or not, so that when you open the lid the end is is covered in foundation. This means it can be a little messy if left on the table with the lid off.

Tips: Using a damp beauty blender and a rolling/dabbing motion helps when trying to build up coverage.

Infallible Star

In a compact plastic tub L’Oreal claims some enticing qualities for me including: broad spectrum SPF, hydrating, up to 24 hr, radiant finish & having a air light texture. I usually would be drawn but with being Pro-Glow too I’d give it a miss....I have been proven wrong. I would be concerned about the thin nature settling into my fine lines but it didn’t any more than any other foundation.

I am not a lover of “glow”, I do prefer matt. I can describe the glow as more natural which has been a refreshing look during these hot days so am 100% proven wrong. I see they have a matt version in the line too so will try that one during the cooler months.

It complimented the L’Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Serum which I use as a primer.

During weekend just one layer with just mascara and lip gloss, looked so casual but photo happy. Weekday two layers & a little more time with blush etc... Was surprised too how it gave me that great in-between look, again lasted fine for the day.

I was also delighted at how easy it was to apply down jaw line with no streaking etc...

I wouldn’t describe it as air light but more on the thin side & was surprised that I could apply with my finger tips. It didn’t come out of the tube too quickly (which I thought it might be quite thin). Absorbed very quickly into skin and a little went a long way. I did think the tube seemed small but looking at some of my other foundations 30ml is standard. This packaging is simple and slim, no pump so I’ll be able to utilise every last drop. A great take away size....sometimes it’s just the simple things that get my tick (so annoying with larger glass bottles when going away).

Wouldn’t work for an evening look but happy to have it in my cupboard. Especially quick and easy to pop on if you are having one of those “rush out quickly” mornings.

Thanks BeautyReview for sending review my way, I am especially enjoying L’Oreal at the moment and find the table breakdown on back of their packaging quite handy. It indicates Finish, Wear time, Coverage and Texture.

Tips: Shake well before use & best applied with fingers or/& a blending sponge (didn't work that good with my brush).

Not for me (or my mum!)

I thought my skin was ready for a hydrating foundation but this just looked shiny and greasy on me. I gave it to my mum to try to see how it performed on drier skin than mine but she hated how it made her wrinkles look.

The consistency is very runny even after the recommended shaking but it means a little bit goes a long way.

It smells like sunscreen but that fades very quickly.

I thought the medium coverage was good but I don't think the 24 hour wear claim stands up as I noticed some wearing off after 8 hours.

So unless you have very dry skin or like looking really dewy I would steer clear.

Tips: Store upside down so excess product doesn't come pouring out when you squeeze it.

L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

Oh my goodness, new Holy Grail foundation! This is so amazing beyond words. Though I have always been a fan of L’Oreal foundations. I love the squeeze tube packaging that it comes in – it’s always so easy to get the product out and I find it to be mess free. The amount of foundation received was decent too, it is sure to last a good amount of time.

The foundation itself is so light and it applies to the face so softly, and goes on so evenly. It is basically liquid gold. It stays on all day and the dewy glow it gives to the skin is just amazing – it was so noticeable – it’s a glow that makes your skin look healthy and radiant, not overpowering. I have a normal skin type and it is just perfect, extremely easy to apply, and doesn’t cake at all on my skin.

It has a medium coverage – it doesn’t hide everything, but I truly believe it still makes your skin still look flawless but also natural. It does layer well to. Pair it with some concealer and a light dusting of powder on top and this will help with the coverage.

I definitely find this foundation lasted the day and when I come home from work my foundation still looks great. It sinks into the skin so well. I have not had any break outs since using this product either.

Highly recommend and I will definitely be repurchasing!

Tips: Just buy it and give it a go, you wont regret it!
