Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks Review

After hearing so much hype about these liquid lipsticks, I finally decided to give them a try. I am a bit wary of liquid lipsticks because they are often much more drying than bullet lipsticks, but I kept hearing about how great Star's formula is so I thought I must give these a try.

The first one I bought on sale because I liked the colour, and now I own five! I have: Masochist, Doll Parts, Calabasas, Flamboyant, and No Tea, No Shade.

They come packaged in shiny cardboard boxes that are normally pink with stars on them (unless they are a special edition). The lipsticks themselves are in wide, clear glass tubes so you can easily see the colour. The lids are normally pink, with pink stars on them, and Jeffree Star written in pink letters prominently on the side. The lids close with a click, so you definitely know you have closed the tube. The packaging does not feel cheap. It feels like good quality, and looks like something fun.

The formula is amazing! I have tried a few liquid lipstick brands, but this one is definitely the best, both for staying power and for lip comfort. The lipstick really does stay put all day. I do not have to reapply unless I have eaten something oily.

You can also wear these lipsticks everyday without destroying your lips through dryness. Unlike other formulas I have tried, where you need to take days off from wearing them otherwise your lips get too dry and sore.

The lipsticks are very easy to apply. The doe foot applicator feels like a sponge on your lips, and the formula is so light, and goes on so evenly, that it feels like a soft souffle.

These are called "Velour liquid lipsticks" on the tubes, and they dry down to a matte finish, although there are more metallic ones in the range, such as Flamboyant, which maintain a bit of shine. The matte ones, I have found, have the greatest staying power - they barely budge - whereas the ones with shine wear off a little more and require a bit more touch up throughout the day.

So I am now a Jeffree Star convert. These are so good that I already have more on order, and I will keep my eye out for any new releases and special editions.

I saw these gorgeous lipsticks by Jeffree Star and really wanted them. Had to talk myself into going out of my comfort zone but the colour just sang out to me and so I purchased one in the colour Dreamhouse - the colour description is that of Barbie's Blood lol.

Packaging: Comes in the most gorgeous tube and because the tube is transparent you can see the true colour and it pretty much shows up that colour on your lips. Hope that warble made sense ha ha ha.

Formula: I find this a gorgeous creamy consistency and a really big bonus for me is that it isn't sticky. I hate that so much. Also once it is applied it goes matte so it stays put on your lips.

Usability: Very user friendly, just your usual standard (although super pretty) lipstick tube with the lip applicator. Glides on easily but I would recommend you glide the applicator on the tube top to get some of the formula off as a little goes a long way and ends up too thick on your lips.

Scent or Flavour: I don't remember it having a scent or fragrance of any kind which is great if you prefer your lip products to be unflavoured or unscented.

Pigmentation: Wow, the pigmentation and shade is amazing. Such a pretty bright pink with a slight shimmer in it. Staying power is pretty good too.

A future purchase? Most definitely, the price is pretty good especially when it is on special. I would love to try a couple of other colours too.

These liquid lippies are gorgeously pigmented, there are lots of out there shades for those creative types and the apply beautifully to the lips. The aplicator is pretty easy to use in my opinion and the product is easy to work with. They aren’t too drying which is also good.

Okay so I got my first jeffree Starr lipstick a couple of years ago and I instantly fell in love. The formula is incredible and so smooth on the lips. It smells amazing and the applicator is really easy to use. I currently have about 10 of his lipsticks and I don't think I reach for any other ones at all. I highly recommend these.

These are the best liquid lipsticks on the market right now. The color range is amazing and they apply so beautifully. They leave no dry patches, as long as you exfoliate like you should before any liquid lipstick. They last through drinking and kissing and everything. The smell is actually not bad at all which is refreshing. Definitely a must have!

This has to be my favorite liquid lipstick line to date – practically half of my lipstick collection is from Jeffree Star’s Velour Liquid Lipstick. All of his lipsticks come in the same type of tube and applicator. The applicator is tapered to one side at the top which makes it easy to use, and I sometimes use the tip to line my lips when I don’t have my lip liner. The Velour Liquid Lipstick collection has a really good shade range, especially nude shades.

In terms of formula consistency and staying power, it really differs depending on the shade. The formula is light and glides on the lips easily for the nude/light shades, while the formula is thicker and needs more than 1 dip for the darker/richer shades. In terms of staying power, I won’t say that it’s the most long-lasting in the market but it does last me a good 5 to 6 hours if I don’t eat anything oily or if I don’t talk too much. The lipstick looks stunning after it ‘dries’ and does not look or feel dehydrating to the lips which I like. I have a problem with other liquid lippies because they dry out badly on my lips and make it looked really cracked even with lip balm. I don’t have this problem with Jeffree’s liquid lipstick. In saying that, it does not fully dry on your lips so if you press and swipe your finger you would get a bit of color on your skin. This may be a problem when you’re wearing the richer red shades like Designer Blood or Masochist as it tends to transfer to your cups and fingers, especially when you don’t leave them to dry after application.

It doesn’t have a strong smell which I like because my nose is sensitive to strong scents. In fact I don’t smell it at all unless I put the applicator very close to my nose.

I think Jeffree Star's Liquid lipsticks are the absolute best on the market and I've tried a lot of different brands. The colour range is amazing and they don't dry out the lips. The staying power is amazing, they really do last on the lips even after eating and drinking. I also love that they are vegan and cruelty free. These even look great without a lip liner!

I usually don't wear very bold bright lip colours, I don't really feel like the school run warrants it usually - but I kept seeing these gorgeous lipsticks appearing on instagram and then began seeing reviews on how wonderful they were, and I started thinking about them, and then when I saw on an online store that there were only 3 Prom night left, before I knew it I'd bought one. When it arrived I fell in love with the box it was packaged in, hot pink, gold stars, gorgeous! Then I opened it and what was inside the box was every bit as wonderful as I'd imagined. I took note of the directions and gave my lips a quick exfoliation, made sure they were dry and began to apply - it was easy to apply without getting it everywhere, which is something I was worried about, having not used a liquid lipstick before, but the formula is just thick enough to give you good control over it. The pigmentation is fantastic, the pink I got really is a gorgeous hot pink and very opaque. Just like it says on the box, it was dry in about 30s, didn't feel drying at all, and was pretty transfer proof from the get-go. The first day I wore it from about 9 am to 11 pm and didn't have to touch it up at all, which is unbelievably impressive in my books!
