It's not a brush. It's not a flat iron. It's not a curling iron. It's the InStyler® rotating hot iron!

The InStyler rotating hot iron is a totally new styling and straightening tool unlike any hair styling product ever invented!

The secret to the InStyler iron lies in its rotating heated polishing cylinder, along with four rows of precision-aligned bristles.

Here's how it works when you run the InStyler rotating hot iron through your hair, the first set of bristles gently sort and separate your hair strands. Then the rotating heated polishing cylinder gently glides over your hair, smoothly polishing, straightening, and styling each strand. Finally, the second set of bristles puts the finishing touch on your hair, leaving you with shiny, silky, hair! It's truly amazing!

And the best part is, because of the InStyler rotating hot iron's patented design, your hair won't get smashed and baked by the super-intense heat of a flat iron or other "hot" tools. In fact, the InStyler rotating hot iron uses less heat than traditional hot tools, and delivers better results. How? Because the InStyler rotating hot iron's gentle heat in conjunction with the rotating motion of the polishing cylinder literally polishes your hair strands individually so it doesn't need extreme heat to get amazing results.

Your hair will be shinier, bouncier and full of lift and life!

Plus, the InStyler rotating hot iron does so much more than any styling tool out there. Get lift and fullness – right from the root! Get a sexy flip in seconds. Straighten even the toughest, most coarse hair – and still get fullness and style without the stick-straight "flatness" of a flat iron. Do a full style in 8 minutes – and change it again in two minutes! Wrap your hair around the rotating polishing cylinder – and get an amazing curl that lasts all day!

If you can hold it, you can do it with the InStyler rotating hot iron!

Dumbest contraption I've ever put near my head

Im not sure what it is, but maybe you need to be a rocket scientist to operate this contraption?? All I know is I tried to use it, and something happened? Maybe it's because I was using the mirror or held it in my hand the wrong way?? Because it spun in the opposite direction to my hair shaft and wrecked some of my hair. LOL I guess it's okayyyy if someone else does it, but for me.. I would NOT recommend it to anyone. Id rather use a straightener or a curler. I'm glad I tried my mums one n didn't buy one myself.

Tips: Don't buy it. Use a curler or straightener. For real. LOL

very disappointing!!

To start off I have fine hair almost down to my waist with a slight kink in it. Also my hair is dry and frizzy on some days.It is, quite possibly, the WORST styling tool i have ever used. The bristles on the brush are so short and have so little "hold" to them that they will do nothing to straighten your hair...that is the start of the problems...a quility blow dry with a round or flat brush, requires a quality (or decent quality) brush in order for it to look right...especially for us curly haired gals...this brush does NOTHING for that..they are nylon bristles, i believe, and all nylon does to curly hair is frizz it up.

Cutting to the chase...when i was done...the end of my hair looked fried (thank god just looked fried, but weren't actually that damaged)...and it did manage to pull out a good amount of hair...so not ok!....I had to go back over my whole head multiple times with a round brush/blow dryer to get it straight...

For the price, this is beyond a waste of money...invest in a quality brush and blowdryer or a a quality straightener, and I promise, you will have better results.

The infomercial is VERY, VERY decieving. I am very dissapointed.

I've seen a lot of ads for this on TV recently, they make it sound pretty amazing and it's had me wondering, I got a bit sucked in.. But after all of the negative reviews I've read, far more disappointment than satisfied customers, i'll leave it.

Takes some getting used to

The instyler is definitely not my favourite hair straightening/curling tool, and it takes a lot of patience and getting used to. You HAVE to section off your hair into small sections and do it bit by bit, so not ideal for a quick fix or a morning when you're running late for work. When the time is put in however, it does do an amazing job of straightening my hair and leaves it with a shine but it completely strips the volume out of my hair and leaves it very flat (which I happen to like anyway). I can only manage to do big, loose curls with it too, no matter the amount of practice and trial and errors! It also gets VERY hot, even on the low setting, and it has singed off my delicate hair by my bangs/fringe. I think possibly cause my hair is already fragile from years of colouring/bleach, and is very fine hair, so the heat damage certainly doesn't help and breaks the hair off. I can only use this 1-3 times a week or else my hair becomes too dry and brittle-- and this is with me using argan oil and heat protection products before using my instyler. So I still need a regular less damaging straightner for in between, making the instyler kind of pointless. I only gave it a 3/5 for using it again because now I own it, so I'm kind of stuck with it! For the price I paid, I'm not overly impressed.

Tips: If you have long hair or thick hair don't buy it!

I've been so tempted to buy one of these, my hair is waist length though and with four children I don't really have heaps of time to straighten my hair. I was hoping this would be a quick fix but I may have to rethink that!

I wish it worked

The first time I used this tool, it took me 3 hours to straighten my hair. It was flat and had no life. It was shiny at least but my hair usually is with any other straightener. I couldn't get close enough to my roots and I had to work on a tiny piece of hair for quite a while to finally straighten it. I tried using this another two times after the first but got the same results. I wish the in styler worked as it was a gift from my mum, she even bought two she thought it was going to be so good! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone and I definitely wouldn't use it again - totally not worth my time.

Great review! I've always wondered if those ads were anywhere near true. Now I know! My guess is they straighten/curl a section before filming the ad and then just pretend to do it with the instyler haha

Love it.

I have thin straight hair, and my mum has thick wavy hair. We love the instyler, and it seems to work great for us, we can curl and straighten our hair easily and our hair is always so shiny and soft after using it. The only problem ive had with the in-styler is occasionally burning myself by accident, that is my fault completely but you do have to be careful :)..

Belongs in the trash

The InStyler I bought is currently Out. Outside. In the trash. Such a waste of money. The barrel gets REALLY hot which leads to burnt fingers, ears and face and possibly burnt hair. The barrel only rolls in one direction so it makes it awkward to hold it on one side of your head. The brush is pointless. I get better curls from my flat iron - it's true! So in my opinion, don't go anywhere near the InStyler or any of the other "Stylers" whatever they are called.

Tips: DO NOT BUY THE INSTYLER.

Not as easy to use as it looks

I'm reasonably happy with it, I bought it for half price and feel like it was worth what I paid for it but not for full price. I've had a friend do my hair with it and it turned out amazing, but when I've tried to curl my own hair it hasn't worked out so well. But that's likely my lack of skill, not the tool itself! Straightening is easy to do though and works really well. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Tips: Easier to curl your hair if you have layers :)

Not recommended

Pretty easy to use if you are not good with your hair. Very damaging though. This tool gets very hot on the hair and because it is held in the hair longer than a straightening iron it really fries the hair.

Tips: If you love it and have to use it just sweep through the hair once very quickly. Don't use on foiled, bleached or chemically treated hair. Use a heat protecting product if you must use it but it will still fry your hair

Sadly Dissapointed

I received this as a gift and was so excited. I watched the DVD, read the information booklet and even went online and watched the tutorials. I have med-longish hair and thought it would give me lovely natural waves. How wrong was I. I couldn't even straighten my hair. It left kinks and when I tried to curl it they dropped out within a matter of minutes. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with hair longer than chin level.

Tips: Keep a steady tension on the unit.

Difficult to get the hang of but......

I like how my hair looks when i straighten it with the instyler, my hair has body and bounce its not dead flat on my head. I also like that i can do my hair on the lowest setting ( lower than straighteners) the instyler can be hard to get used to using as its very big in the hands and can hurt your wrists when trying to curl or flick the ends. But overall i like it and will keep using it.

Tips: To stop any fly always i use a moroccan spray after straightening to add shine and condition.
