olia

terrible in my opinion! I bought it because it was on sale and I liked the fact that it contained no ammonia. It didn't turn out the colour on the box, waaaaay lighter and it wasn't very permanent either. it looked like it washed out almost straight away

Not long lasting as it promises

I purchased No. 6.60 in deep red and it promised me long lasting colour with shine, healthy hair and no fading.

The colouring experience was very pleasant because not having ammonia in home hair dye makes a world of difference, not only your scalp but your ability to breathe through the application process.

The amount of product in 1 box was more than enough for my thick, mid length hair and my head was completely saturated after application which I was very pleased about.

I loved the conditioner that accompanied the dye and 60ml was wonderful for use over the weeks preceeding colouring. I loved the richness, creamy texture and lovely smell. My hair felt amazing upon application and comb through was a breeze. No tangled hair, just soft and manageable.

Rinising the dye out of my hair was a nightmare, as it about 4 good shampoos to rinse all colour and residue out of my hair and in the end it didnt appear as if my hair was even coloured.

After blow drying my hair, the colour result was very disappointing as a my hair just had a tinge of red but nothing noticeable. The little bit of red I was able to achieve washed out so quickly so the promise of permanent hair colour was a fail. My hair however felt very nourished and healthy after colouring.

I dont feel the price matches the quality of the hair dye as there as many cheaper hair dyes that actually DO deliver permanent, long lasting hair colour.

Disappointing result

Being an at-home colour queen, I was really excited to be able to test drive this new Garnier product. My natural colour is 90% grey, so a hair dye that promises to cover the grey is of utmost importance to me. I usually dye my hair every 4-6 weeks to keep the grey under control, and because I dye it a dark brown the grey regrowth is really obvious. For the trial, I opted to try the Dark Beige Blonde, expecting the actual colour of my hair to be a light golden brown (as per the colour chart on the box). Instead, after using the Garnier Olia, the colour of my hair hasn't changed from the dark brown, and the coverage of grey was really disappointing. The grey roots were still visible when I washed the dye out! For this reason alone, I would not use this product again.

What I did like about the product: 1. No strong smell - the smell of the dye while applying was subtle and pleasant. 2. The formulation - it was creamy and thick. 3. It did leave my hair feeling softer and smoother than usual after dying.

What I didn't like: 1. The bottle - found the shape of the bottle difficult to control, especially once I had dye on the gloves, it made the bottle quite slippery. 2. The lack of grey coverage.

Thanks BR for the opportunity to trial this product, however it's now back to my old faithful, Garnier Nutrisse!

Tips: The instruction leaflet advises leaving the product in your hair for 30 minutes development time, but I would suggest it needs to stay in longer, perhaps 40 minutes.

First and last time to dyed hair at home.

This is my first time dyed hair at home so i cant compare this with another permanent hair color. This review is base on my personal reference. All you need for dying hair are comes in the box. The color is easy to mix and the bottle is practicle enought to spread the color. The instruction that comes with is cleary enought and easy to follow. After I did exactly from struction the result is very dispointing. My hair color have not change at all . My hair have been dyed from black to light brown and the color that i got is light brown. My root been grow for 4months, but this hair color did not do its job at all

Garnier Olia - Violet

I Tired this colour after seeing it on this site and thinking it might be kinder on my hair than standard permanent colours .

I have previously had highlights and had been dying my hair with a different permanent dye of a similar shade, I had regrowth and needed to touch up.

I have thick hair so I purchased 2 packs to get good coverage in case the shade was drastically different to my existing shade.

The product mixed well and the instructions were easy to follow, but for me it stopped there.

I found the product really hard to work through my hair, I ended up with massive knots and what looked like a giant dreadlock.

The coverage was not good despite buying two packs. After washing out my hair the colour was really patchy and not intense like the box and after 5 washes has faded dramatically.

Unfortunately this product didn't pass the cut and I wont be using it again.

Not vibrant enough

I usually use Swarzkopf hair dye (hypnotic red) but i wanted to try this brand as it wouldnt have been as harmful to my hair - I dye my hair red. I tried the 6.60 Intense Red. After I washed my hair, I noticed that the colour wasnt as vibrant or as shiny as the Swarzkopf and the colour didnt wear as long. I usually get 4 weeks with Swarzkopf and i found i needed to recolour after 3. I definately wont be trying this again.

Olia? Ehh..

I tried this about a week and a half ago mainly because it was on special at Countdown and I never like to spend too much on my box dyes. I was not impressed at all, I'm already looking at my roots and seeing evidence of greys and the colour is not at all how it was portrayed on the box. Don't get me wrong it was super easy to use, the packaging is very appealing and its not at all expensive (even when not on sale) I was just not that fussed over the final result. I applied as directed and was promised grey coverage. As a 26 year old who already has greys you can imagine this is very important but at just over a week and a half after dying I should not be having to think about redoing my roots. I'm not one to complain usually but I am seriously considering getting in touch with Garnier as their products are usually spot on. Long story short, don't bother.. I'll be sticking to my Napro Palette from now on ($8 bucks on special and lasts at least 5 weeks!!)

Not permanent

I used this brand for the dark blonde colour and it is not permanent. It comes to a faded colour after about 3 washes. I even try to leave it in for as long as I can however it seems to make no difference, I still end up seeing my light blonde hair underneath it. I would definitely recommend a different permanent dye if you want it to last.

Garnier Olia

I had been using Garner Olia in the coolest light blonde shade for about a year when I first heard about it. It sounded like a miracle product that wouldn't damage my hair as much as other hair dyes I've used in the past. However the last few times I used it to do my roots it ended up leaving my hair blue and purple! I was shocked and very upset! I immediatly became turned off to this product. After a week the purple color began to fade but it wasn't worth the wait.

Tips: If you are a blonde or going blonde with this product make sure you know there's a possibility that your hair won't react positively.
