I was lucky enough to be selected to trial this range thank you BR. I have very oily roots so was eager to see if this could make a difference. I typically have to wash my hair every second day.
This product comes in a round pottle with a screw lid. Its a really good size. The scent is strange but not horrible. The consistency is a thick light grey clay looking substance.
Before i hoped into the shower, i scooped out a small portion with my fingertips, I gently massaged onto my scalp (do in sections if your hair is thick) and left for the recommended five minutes to absorb any excess oils.
The clay dried and I jumped into the shower. While I was rinsing, I gently massaged my scalp again. I felt like it took awhile for the water to run clear.
My fair felt lovely and silky. I would highly recommend this product. I used it once per week (three times so far) and the pottle will last awhile so great value for money.
I am cursed with oily hair, that I need to wash to wash my hair every day, and at a stretch maybe every second day, which tends to be a bit greasy up top and frizzy elsewhere. So a product promising to help with this is exciting.
The Clay mask is designed to be used before washing your hair. The instructions suggest applying for up to five minutes before rinsing out, which is not that practical during a work day. Though for the trial, I just change my routine in the shower so that I washed my hair last.
It is like the texture of a body butter - quite thick and creamy. Applying it my roots was quite awkward a bit like applying hair colour, but not as easy. The first time I used it I tried to get full coverage, but it took too long and because it is quite sticky I ended up pulling a lot of my hair out. Other times I have focused on the top of the head and near the temples. It is however, easy to rinse out.
Overall I am not sure the clay mask added too much value. Didn't feel like there was any change. I will probably use once in a while (eg weekends) now rather than every time I wash my hair.
Not sure if on it's own it would help with oily roots but is designed to be used in conjunction with the shampoo, conditioner, and dry shampoo. For those reviews - check them out under those products.
Tips: The instructions are under the label on the lid.
