Needs a bit more

Such a big bottle, such a nice scent but this product really didn't do anything for me. I feel like it needs to have a lot more moisture in it like some of the other Elvive products. I have long fine hair but I found this didn't really give my ends that curl and smooth feel I'm used to. I tried it both on dry ends and while it was still damp after a shampoo and I still have split ends!

not-so-dreamy lengths but dreamy fragrance

I have very fine hair. Love the fragrance (it is divine) but not so happy with the product and wonder if I would need to try whole dream lengths range to achieve results. Doesn't seal up my split ends and makes my hair feel weighed down/can feel product still in my hair. A few years ago L'oreal had this amazing oil spray I used to use in my hair... a gold-ish bottle but can't remember the name. They discontinued the product and I was devastated as it was the best thing I had ever used on my hair.

Tips: If you buy it, don't use much and don't expect great results.

Hair reviver

For me personally I didn’t really like using this product it made my hair feel a bit hard when it dried and made my hair knotty. It does smell really good though. And I believe it could just be my hair type.

Not for me

I was lucky enough to be sent the set as part of a trial team.

I have long hair that has been lightened so the ends are really quite damaged. I am determined to grow my hair out, so hate cutting it, but hate the shaggy dry look too! I was super excited to see that this promises to seal the ends and improve the look of those long lengths and split ends.

This is the leave in product in the trio. It can be used on either damp or dry hair. It has a lift squirt bottle lid (not sure if that’s what the pros call it?!), that makes dispensing the cream easy – but will be a nuisance when the product is running low.

The product itself is a browny/grey colour. It was a little surprising seeing this colour, but presumably there’s a reason. It’s quite thick so I found it a little tricky to get just on the ends. It has a nice soft scent, nothing too overpowering and dried nicely on the ends with no greasiness.

This is where I came unstuck – the first time I used it, I had my hair tied up so didn’t notice any issue. The next time I had my hair down, and by the end of the day I had a rash/irritation all around my jawline and neck. After washing my hair out that night, the irritation cleared up and hasn’t happened since, so I can only assume it was the product.

Unfortunately this is a no for me, but will pass to my daughter to try it and see what she thinks.

A little heavy on the hair....

I have been using this after the L’Oréal dream lengths shampoo and conditioner and applied all through the hair and combed through.

My first thought was this smells AMAZING and even better than the shampoo and conditioner smells. It’s so fruity and tropical smelling and the scent lingers which is fantastic.

I found it quite heavy on my fine hair and unfortunately did not notice any difference to my split ends, but I did slightly notice a reduce in breakage.

Tips: Match with the L’Oréal dream lengths shampoo and conditioner for the ultimate smelling hair

Smooth Strands

The cream smelt lovely and the cream wasn't sticky or greesy. It went on well and absorbed well. My hair felt soft but I think it needs to be used for longer to get the full effect.

It’s a nice product, but there are some issues.

I received this product to trial, and I was really intrigued by it, who doesn’t want to go to the hairdresser less and lose half your hair length??

The packaging on this product is a nice colour and feels nice to the touch. The cap seals really well, and it dispenses product really well. The label is really hard to read, so if you actually want to read the ingredients, I recommend a magnifying glass!!

The pros: absorbs really well into wet or dry hair. I first tried this just on the ends of my dry hair using around a 10 cent size blob, and it smoothed the frizz really well.

I used a bit more (probably too much in hindsight!) on wet hair, probably around a 50 cent blob), and while it absorbed really well, the scent of the product became really apparent, leading me to-

The cons: really just one, but it’s a bit of a dealbreaker in my house, this product doesn’t smell the best. I personally don’t mind it, but my partner pretty much refused to come near me until the following day because he really hated it, so maybe best to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to chemical scents.

As a product, it seems to do what it says on the bottle, and I’ll keep using it through dry hair where the scent is less noticeable. Impossible to tell if I’ll have fewer splits, or need for a hair trim after a week trial, but it’s promising so far, and my hair definitely drinks it in. Not sure if I’ll purchase it, as it’s pretty polarising in my house, and I still love my argan oil which smells better!!

Shiny and soft

I don't usually use leave in creams as i prefer oils since creams make my hair feel gross but not this one.

It came in an easy squeeze orange bottle with a pink lid. The scent was nice, slightly sweet. The consistency of the product was kind of runny but not so runny it would slip off your hand.

It stated on the bottle it could be used in wet or dry hair but i only tired it in wet hair, i found the cream distributed really well in wet hair and a little went a long way. I let my hair air dry after using it although it did say it had heat protection so it probably works well with hair dryers. I did decide to straighten my hair which i don't usually do and i found it to be much shinier and softer and didn't tangle the same way it used too.

I would buy this again just for the fact that it would mean i can straighten my hair more often without it looking dull and tangly.

Bit of a strong claim!

I started using this leave-in because I have basically worn my hair in a bun in the same spot using hair ties for the last 2 years and have got a bit of breakage around where the hair tie usually sits. I don't necessarily think you'd need less hair cuts but what I have noticed is my hair feels pretty soft, I have less fly aways, the bits of my hair that curl look pretty good and when I do straighten it, it stays straight around the crown for a bit longer than usual. I have frizzy, wavy hair. My partner always comments that I smell nice when I use it, though I find the smell at first to be pretty strong.

Tips: Don't over load your hair or it may get a bit crunchy and dull.

Leave-in conditioner

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial the new Dream Lengths Detanging Conditioner from L’Oreal. My hair is dry and fine. It is drier than it should be because I have damaged it by lightening it. This past year I have been growing my hair, so it is now down past my shoulders.

The Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream comes in a cute, opaque peach-coloured bottle with a bright pink pop-up top. The bottle is 200ml. The top is easy to pop-up, and you squeeze the bottle to get the product out. The bottle is easy enough to squeeze, but I recommend giving it a shake beforehand so the product flows out better. The product itself is a creamy off-white colour with a mild peach scent. It is essentially a leave-in conditioner and it promises to seal split ends, and to strengthen lengths and tips. Directions say to apply to wet or to dry hair.

I used this on towel-dried hair after using the Dream Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner. I applied from near my scalp, down the length of my hair, and into the ends. It absorbed well, and did not feel heavy on my fine hair. The bottle also claims that this conditioner can protect your hair up to 180 Celsius, so it is good to apply before using heat appliances. I used my hair dryer on my hair afterwards, and my hair stayed soft, shiny and conditioned. I enjoyed using this, and I will continue to use it once the trial is over.

Tips: Give the bottle a couple of shakes before trying to squeeze the product out.
