Good, but not in love

My hair is long (down to the middle of my back), very thick, blonde, and quite dry. I have half head highlights.

This product comes in a handy tube that is easily squeezed out.

It is quite a thin, runny formula unlike other treatments I have tried which are very thick. It has a pleasant, not overpowering smell.

Out of the tube, I got 2 treatments out of it, and I tried it two different ways.

The first time I tried it, I did what I usually do with treatments which is shampoo my hair, towel dry it, apply the treatment, comb it through, and leave it in for 15-20mins.

Doing it this way I found it impossible to comb through, and quite hard to apply.

The second time, I applied it as per the directions (shampoo, rinse, apply treatment, rinse straight away) It says that the treatment works straight away.

I found this way much better as it goes into wet hair much easier.

After rinsing the treatment out (both times), my hair felt quite dry and hard to manage, and had lots of knots.

I then towel dried my hair, used my tangle teezer to get the knots out, and blow dried it.

This treatment promises 5 proven results.

The first is restored. It definitely felt softer, however I do not believe you can restore hair, only cover up the damage, which I think it does a reasonably good job at doing.

The second is stronger. This is quite hard to measure, and I think you may have to use it quite a few times to really see a difference, however I did see a little bit of a difference.

The third is vitality. I think it does make the hair more vitalized.

The fourth is silky to touch. This product definitely made my hair nice and silky. Feels divine after straightening it too.

And the fifth is Healthy Shine. My hair definitely looked more shiny.

So my overall thoughts on this product is that I am quite happy with it, however it does not do an as good of a job as my professional salon treatments, and the downside is that it contains silicone. Silicone just coats the hair and makes it appear healthier rather than working inside the hair shaft, and silicone can weigh the hair down after a while.

If this was on special at the supermarket, I may pick some up, but for now I will probably just stick with my salon products.

Tips: Use it as directed.

Also, after you wash your hair the next time, the effects are gone

Hair treatment- in 60seconds

I have long, dyed, dark brown hair. I straighten it most days and the ends are dry.

I found this treatment to be slightly thinner then previous hair treatments I have used, but texture is no problem at all, it makes it easy to apply and easy to squeeze out of the bottle.

You get a really decent amount of product, so big value for money with this product.

I have used the treatment for the last 2 weeks and have noticed slight changes over that time. I used it every second day when I wash my hair, at first I noticed my hair was really knotted the next day after using it, this isn't normal for my hair. I carried on using it as I truly wanted to see the results from this product. Over the past two weeks I have noticed slow, and slight changes. The ends of my hair have become slightly less dry, less tangled and knotted which I experienced the first few times. And it seems to straighten a lot easier and smoother.

Overall I think it is a good, easily accessible, reasonably priced hair treatment. I am going to continue using the bottle so I can see how long it will last, and the progress my ends make with this product.

Did the job

I have a two year old so I was keen to try something that didn't mean I had to wait in the shower for 10 minutes to let it do it's thing.

The product is quite thin - was expecting more of a thicker consistency, like a masque. It went on my hair well and was easy to run through although it didn't feel like I had a treatment on. It had a pleasant fragrance, although I do wish that some of these bigger brands would use some more natural type fragrances - this was a pleasant but chemically fragrance. My normal hair products are an organic one I get from my hairsalon and they have such gorgeous natural lavender and orange fragrances!! I digress...I normally wash my hair then leave conditioner on while I am washing face etc so I did the same with this and left it on even though it said to rinse off straight away. I did try that once and it didn't seem to be much different so you are probably good to just rinse straight away anyway.

I did find that my hair felt soft and silky once I'd washed it off. Also my hair seemed to dry a bit faster than normal and it felt light and soft once it was dry. I only used it on the ends of my hair as I tend to get quite oily roots.

I did like this product and it was a good quick treatment, however I will probably look for something a bit more natural/organic in the future.

Tips: Squeeze as much water out of your hair as possible before applying as otherwise it kind of just drips off.

Surprisingly good!

I try for a hair mask every weekend - a luxurious routine involving a nose pore strip and a face mask too. But this is the perfect top up during the week when I don't have more than 4 minutes in the shower. I like the smell although the colour is a little odd (same colour as the bottle), but the feel of my hair after I've put it in is lovely. I'm not sure if it's silicone based or not and would be interested to know but it sure does do the trick. Doesn't weight down hair and leaves it feeling silky for the next day. Excellent for my thick, dry mane.

Tips: Even though it isn't necessary, I do think leaving it in for even 2 minutes makes a real difference.

Helping hand rather than a miracle.

My dry, damaged blonde hair was screaming out for the Loreal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Instant Miracle treatment to arrive on my doorstep. Previously, I had been using the Loreal Professional Absolue treatment and I was very interested to see how these two products, with significantly different price tags, would compare. As we all know, price is often a good indicator of quality, with the exception of a few little beauties.

I have managed to squeeze this product into my routine five times since its arrival. I apply it after washing and conditioning my hair (for cleanness and knots) and squeezing as much water from my hair as possible. This method ensures that the treatment is sitting on my hair, rather than dripping down the drain. Because my hair is quite damaged and doesn't become oily, I applied it about 2 inches from the roots downwards, focusing on the ends of my hair. I did need to use a significant amount of product to cover the hair, however the size of the tube is reflective of this. The texture of the product is very similar to a conditioner, only slightly thicker. This product claims to be a 60 second treatment, however 2-5 minutes did ensure a better result.

After blowdrying my hair, I noticed that it was slightly softer, smoother and shinier, without loosing any volume. It didn't meet the standard of the "full of vitality and incredibly soft to touch" claim, but like I said, my hair is reasonably dry and damaged. The visible result was pleasing, but not particularly impressive. My hair was left fresh and clean, with a very, very subtle 'salon smell'.

I will continue to use this product in my routine, and I am interested to see the condition of my hair after a longer period of time. Perhaps this product is doing more deeper repairing, rather than covering the hair in a slippery soft coating.

For such a teeny price tag ($8.99) this would be a great addition to the hair care routine of someone on a budget or someone with only minor damage who is looking for a boost. For myself, I will be sticking with the Loreal Professional treatment, as I would rather pay the extra money for a significant difference to my hair. In the meantime, the Loreal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Instant Miracle treatment will continue to have a place in my bathroom.

Tips: Remove as much water from the hair as possible before applying. This ensures that the product remains in the hair, rather than down the drain.

Miracle? Not quite.

The title is not really fair as I do really like this product, I'm just a bit sick of hype words that all beauty brands use. I have very long slightly lightened hair via the wild ombre kit that was reviewed a wee while ago, so my hair was in need of a little TLC.

The first time I used this product I was surprised at how it felt when I put it in my hair, I was expecting a creamy consistency similar to conditioner or other keratin products I have used but instead it seemed to "vanish" into my hair. I liked this as I felt like my hair was absorbing more of this than other product I have used which just coat the hair in oils. After I rinsed it out I couldn't notice anything immediately with the texture of my hair, but after air drying and straightening with a GHD (something I do rarely) I could really see an improvement. My hair was silkier and smoother and I needed a lot less serum afterwards.

Now I didn't notice an increased improvement with continued use, but my hair was very nice directly after use. I had a friend complaining about the condition of her hair after dying it so I bought her some miracle and it worked well for her as well she has very fine, mid length hair.

All in all I would recommend this product, it's a great temporary solution to damaged hair

Instant repair

The product does what it says - Instant repair. From the very first use itself, it fixed my fizzy hair. The damaged look of my hair was gone. But after a 2 days, it made my hair sticky and oily and I had to shampoo again. I liked the product, its probably the first product that has helped me fix my damaged hair. What I liked in particular is that you need not wait for long time in the shower. You can wash it off immediately. First I was a bit doubtful if it will work or not as the instructions says that I can was it off immediately. But surprisingly it does work. Very very time saving. I will definitely use this again. Worth putting money on this one.

Tips: Shampoo after 2 days to avoid stickiness of the hair.

Seems like a pretty good idea

At first impressions I really liked this product - it smells nice, is a cool pink colour and the idea of it is great - a quick extra conditioner which you can put on and rinse out. My hair feels super nice and smooth once I rinse it out - like really, really nice! However there is no difference with using this product on how my hair feels once it's dry, it doesn't feel or look smoother than usual or feel any more moisturised then it normally would. So I really like the idea of it, but I'm not sure if it is actually doing any lasting good to my hair.

Tips: Don't apply from roots to tips as the instructions say if you have greasy or oily hair

Soft, silky hair.

My GHD's are my BFF so my blonde hair does suffer. I was very skeptical of what this product claimed to do. First impression, I was very surprised it states that it soaks in straight away so doesn't need to be left in for 5 mins. For people in a hurry fantastic! Now it did soak in, it felt storage almost like it coated my hair. The smell is faux floral. Rinse out and my hair did feel instantly silky. On drying and straightening my hair it did appear smoother and silkier to touch. I didn't notice shine, but having blonde hair it does naturally lack shine. I did give this treatment a real work out after colouring my hair, instead of the treatment provided. It did leave it soft, shinny, tangle free. It does what it claims to do!! I 'll be keeping it stocked up.

Loreal Elvive Total Repair 5 Instant Miracle

I don't usually go for supermarket haircare, but I was lucky enough to receive this treatment through a BR trial and thought why not give it a whirl! So for starters, I have fine hair which is foiled blonde regularly, some damage but not extreme. Attractive packaging. The product itself is a creamy texture and smells delish! I was a bit sceptical on how this treatment would work in my hair, and honestly the first few times I used this treatment I didn't notice any real change in the texture or softness of my hair. I persisted with it and started noticing positive changes. My hair was a lot softer and smoother. Putting conditioner on before applying the product is a must. I noticed I needed quite a bit of product to get a decent application on my hair, but still think the bottle would last a long time. I can use this each time I was my hair and don't notice and extra oiliness which is a big plus for me. Overall a good product for soft silky hair and affordable.
