In the ballpark of salon quality

I've been using this serum since about June last year, and the time resignates like alarm bells in my head because I ran into countdown (or was it NW?) with a hair crisis, that this serum magically helped me with!

My hair is extremely (no actually beyond extremely) dry, coarse, rebellious, stubborn and throws tantrums. People dont often believe me but that's because I drown my hair in such products to help with dryness and then I murder the dryness away with a blow dryer and GHD. (I cant stress enough the importance of a good blowdryer and straightner for dry hair!)

After washing my hair I towel my hair until its drier than damp and then use about 3 pumps in my hands and distribute it from my mid section of the hair concentrating on the ends especially. It may sound like heaps to you guys but trust me, my hair needs it. I turn my hair into a bun while damp for about 30 minutes to let my hair and serum get along and play nice with each other.

Blow drying is so much easier because my hair turns out smooth and not fried on the ends like they would if I didnt use a serum. After blowdrying, I use another pump on the ends of my hair and then GHD my hair. Trust me, I need it! This serum really helps to take out all the dry and coarse bits out of my hair and my hair is left shiny and manageable.

Is it as good as morocon oil? Yes! I use morocon and argan oil in my hair collection and this serum definitely stacks up. Would I choose this over my salon Kerastase? No! Dont get me wrong I love this serum but theres something about Kerastase that just gives my hair 10% more love than this serum.

My hair hates it when I use the same products over and over so I would say within a month I would use this serum about thrice and my Kerastase all the other times, but thats just my hair needs and you ladies might be able to use one product every time you wash your hair.

If you're someone with dry hair, and you're not quite able to splash out salon products this is definitely a cheap, effective and very hydrating serum that you have to try. I will keep this serum in my hair product because it hasnt let my hair down and I've had no negative reactions to this whatsoever.

Tips: I need tonnes of serum for my very dry hair so I wouldnt recommend using the same amount as I do. 2 pumps should be great for somebody with slighty dry hair.

To get most action out of this serum, dont blow dry your immediately when applying to damp hair. Tie your up and let your take some time to absorb all the nutrients from the serum. Your hair will thank you for doing that :)

HG Hair Product

Having long, thick, dry, and bleached hair, I've tried numerous hair serums that all claim to do the same, and this stacks up to the rest of them! Prior to using this I used Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Spray, but I wasn't happy paying top dollar for something I wasn't 100% happy with. This does the exact same job, if not a BETTER one than my Macadamia spray did and at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommend this!

Tips: Apply it while your hair is wet, then add an extra pump once dry just before you go out to add extra silkiness and shine.

Great serum

Considering this is a "Dove" product, it is a very good serum. It is light enough to not weigh your hair down, and it smells good too. I have used a lot of greasy serums, and this one is light and silky. My mom got me some for my birthday in May, along with a basket of new beauty products. Thiswas definitely something I will always thank her for! Other serums are always so expensive, so its nice to have one that does the exact same thing, for way less money. Those are the best products in the world!! The ones that cost less, and do the same as the higher priced brands.

Love it!

This oil is great! I brought it on a whim a while back and I have been loving it ever since! It reduces frizz and leaves my hair nice and smooth! I have also tried the macadamia healing oil treatment and personally I like this better and it's cheaper! I would definitely recommend this and would definitely repurchase this product!

Nourishing therapy

Well I need hair products, I have longish hair, hair with age, 50% grey and it's lightened and I blow dry and straighten it then proceed to tie it up in quite a high hard pulled back ponytail. I also wash it every day.

I am very mean and even nasty to my hair I would say I'm lucky to still have it on my head. But in my favour I use lovely hair masks and try so many hair products.

Well it says that hair needs more than moisture it needs esentuial nutrients to smooth and shine, so this serum is full of coconut and almond oils that are absorbed by the hair doesn't sit on top and leave your hair greasy.

Ok so a lovely tube shape plastic bottle, you can see the yellow dewy coloured serum,it is quite a nice feeling oil, has quite a strong nearly jasmine sent to it.

So freshly washed slightly damp hair I work four or five squirts of it through my hair starting at the ends, I sort of massage it in, work the serum into it. I also put a we bit on when my hair is dry. It says use it every day. It doesn't weigh my hair down but my hair doesn't get a shine with it but it does help contain the frizz, I don't feel like my hair is conditioned anymore for using it. So not so much nourishing going on for my hair.

For a supermarket product it's ok.

Tips: I would say work it through the ends of you hair when your hair is damp. Let your hair decide the amount you should use.

Dove Hair Nourishing Oil Care Nutri-Oil Serum

I LOVE this stuff!

I use it almost every time I wash my hair. Half blow dry, and use one pump per half side of my head and get it all in.

You really don't need to use much - a little goes a long way! And because its an oil, just keep running your fingers through you hair to make sure it gets all over (but, see tip below.)

I then finish blow drying and find that my hair is smoother, softer and easier to manage, with less fly-aways!

It doesn't have a scent, so no fear of that and it lasts a long time because you only need such a small amount.

Your hair will be nice and shiny until your next wash!

Tips: Do NOT apply to your roots. As this is an oil, it will make your hair look greasy and like it needs a wash, which you don't need to do!

Don't get the fuss, didn't stack up to claims!

My head of hair is an interesting mop! With the right products it looks fabulous.. With products that don't agree.. Well quite frankly I look like a crazy lady who has stuck her finger in a light socket.

I have long mermaid wave hair.. Prone to a lil bit of dryness and can get a little bit wild with frizz!

I was very grateful to receive this as a gift and very excited to use it based on claims. I had a friend that actually told me this was an affordable substitute for Argan oil.. At the time being new to Argan oil and recently purchasing Hask I was so excited to have this big bottle in my possession..

Unfortunately I am not a fan and my hair HATED this product.

First test was air drying.. I am a huge fan of this and with Argan oil have no problem combing it through and letting it dry.. This did absolutely nothing for my hair and if anything it dried it out and made it dryer and more unruly than ever before.. My hair literally felt disgusting. The ends were looking tatty and seriously moisture deprived, my hair was frizzy and I literally looked like I don't take care of my hair. You wouldn't have believed I had product in my hair.. Especially one which makes claims like this one does!

The result with blow drying right after towel drying and applying was no better.. My hair had fly-aways, frizz and looked extremely dry.

Not for me.. I don't get what the fuss is about and I genuinely don't believe the claims. Perhaps I had a bad batch? My hair isn't THAT hard to please. Was seriously let down!

Tips: If you have hair like mine as described above.. I would recommend sticking with Argan oil!

Dove Hair Oil

This was a great product for dry hair. I fund it worked well on clean dry hair, rubbed between the palms and pressed over hair to stop flyaways. It has a divine smell. It also works well to smooth into the ends of hair to help with dryness. It feels like a luxury product but isn't very expensive. I highly recommend it.

Another great dove product.

I looove this product. I am a absolute fan of Dove products and after trying this I am even more of a fan! I have used this about 3-4 times now and have only tried it massaging into damp hair but I can definitely see and feel a difference. If you have dry etc hair definite must have! Match with Dove Intensive Repair Treatment Mask, and the doe intensive repair shampoo and conditioner for perfect results ! You will definitely not be dissapointed

Not so sure...

I got given this as a gift and was pretty eager to try it as i have really dry and damaged hair from a year of straightening every day (bad idea!! Proud to say my hair is completely heat free now) However when i used it i was somewhat disapointed... First of all the smell is just too strong! There is a fine line between smelling nice and just wayyyy too much!! The smell is just overpowering and i found myself getting a headache from the oil being on my hair. Not good! Next is the fact that the oil itself is just really heavy and has the tendency too look quite greasy in your hair. This oil is reasonably priced but it just did not live up to my expectations! There are far better alternatives in my opinion. For example the wella enrich or wella finish oils are both nicely fragrenced but not too strongly and they both work great. Sorry Dove but it's just not for me.

Tips: Try other oils on the market. Perhaps the Wella range as i mentioned before or maybe even Morrocan Argon Oil if you are willing to pay that much. That stuff is well worth it's weight in gold.
