L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Conditioner Review

I really loved this product especially when paired with the shampoo. I have fine curly hair and most of the conditioners don't deliver what they say on the anti frizz side of things, but if must say this really did I was able to wash my hair every second day with this product which I can't normally do, not only did it leave my hair nice and soft it really did seem to have the anti frizz factor that I needed. My curls are lovely not all frizzy which I really like, I definitely recommend this product and will defiantly be using this as my new conditioner option.

I was left rather underwhelmed by this product. The packaging was attractive, clear and easy to read, and the conditioner had a pleasant smell to it, but I found I needed to use a lot of it and the conditioner had run out whilst I still had half a bottle of shampoo left. However, it didn't deliver the results I had expected from it. I have very long and wavy hair, frizz is a problem I battle with a LOT! I had high hopes that this conditioner (and the shampoo) would ease my frizz woes and tame my hair. It didn't. If anything, it made it worse - my normal shampoo/conditioner does a much better job than this! I was disappointed with the overall results, and I wouldn't use it again.

Hey girlies! This is the Elvive conditioner I got from BR for the review. So I thought I would do a little bit “technical and to the point” review rather than my typical bla bla.

Consistency - It has a good consistency going more on the thick side. But less thicker than I prefer. I like really creamy and thick conditioners.

Application and coverage - I have long, coarse and thick hair, so I use a palmful of product. Usually, I leave the conditioner on my hair for about 5 minutes, so it has enough time to soak into my hair. I sometimes had to conditioner twice with this, especially since Elvive Smooth Intense shampoo tends to make the hair a bit coarse.

Fragrance - Fragrance of this conditioner is very summery, same as its shampoo. It’s a very pleasant smell that lasts even after couple of days. My husband loves the smell. ;)

Usage and longevity - First I used this regularly for a week. Then, once every other day for another week. I also left my hair unwashed for three days and then used this. So I only have about 1/4 of conditioner left. I tend to use a bit more product and I sometimes used this twice in a row. So it ended up pretty quickly. Therefore, as a whole I think this conditioner will last me for about 1 month.

Price - Similar to the shampoo, this conditioner is pretty cheap compared to other products. I noticed this for $3 something on Pack N Save.

Packaging - What I love about its design is that it is meant to place on its cap - like most of the conditioners these days - which comes in very handy when it comes to taking the product out as it ends. Unfortunately the body of this bottle is not see-through as the shampoo bottle. This also has a tight cap that closed up properly. I even dropped it on the tile floor like I did with the shampoo, and it didn't break off. :D

Results - I tried to use this conditioner paired with its shampoo as much as possible within the time period I had and in different ways. On the week I used the pair regularly, I had to conditioner my hair twice to get it to be silky. On the week I washed my hair once every two days, I only conditioned once. I also tried this with other shampoos, for example head and shoulders. With head and shoulders shampoo that doesn’t leave my hair dry, this conditioner is perfect to be used. Personally, I think with every shampoo and conditioner pair, it’s the shampoo that cleans the hair and scalp leaving them dry or else and the conditioner is the product that helps to get the hair to look shiny or go silky or add volumn, etc. So I believe that it’s this conditioner that helps lessen the frizzy effect my hair has. It’s still winter so my hair tends to go a little crazy with the added moisture in the air. But I think in the summer time this conditioner will flawlessly take care of the frizz.

I like the bottle design, they stay standing in my shower and upside down which means not having to shake and tap the bottle when getting to the end. I found the formula was great not too thick and very easy to rub through evenly. Didn't notice less frizz first couple of washes but did by the 3rd - the first couple of washes my hair was so smooth it seemed to be more frizzy but by the 3rd time using it i had a nice balance of smooth, less frizzy hair. I have medium to long length hair and found I only needed to use a small amount so love that I'm getting more washes than usual out of the conditioner. After towel drying my hair, the hair brush goes through my hair so smoothly no tangles at all.

As the shampoo didn't really work wonders for me the conditioner I didn't hold high hopes for.

Its rather thick in consistency which is a good thing to see however when applied it seemed to go rather watery... which I thought was rather weird. I always apply my conditioner to dry hair (being a hair dresser that what we get taught towel dry hair before applying any conditioner) It seemed to just disappear in my hair, later not really achieving what was promised and it didn't aid really or assist with the shampoo even when used with another shampoo first.

Its brilliant in another way as it didn't make my hair greasy or oily and it did seem to hydrate a little more than a cheaper brand I used as a comparative.

I think in an all I would use this conditioner with a more suited shampoo for my hair type.

The colour I found was rather weird aswell and was a nice honeycomb colour different to see thats for sure. The packaging you cant see through unlike the shampoo, so is hard to see whether the product is nearing the end of not.

The only way this conditioner worked for me was when it was teamed with the shampoo and the serum which I went out and purchased. My hair was slightly less frizzy, but not dramatically. The conditioner did not have the best smell to it either.

My hair is so silky! Started using this a few weeks back. My ends are amazing and smooth. Even my boyfriend has noticed the difference. The frizz is no longer causing me a frown!

I was pretty sceptical that this Conditioner could do what it claimed as I have tried so many before it, but I was very suprised!

I have been using this Conditioner for the last couple of weeks and wow I am impressed!!!! The formula is super nice and creamy, and smells great!!! It claims to leave you wish frizz free hair, and it really does do that!

Normally after washing my hair, the frizz is horrible and I have to either coat it in product or tie it up for the first day, but not with this! My hair is super silky and smooth straight after washing, and paired with the matching Shampoo I don't get ANY frizz whatsoever!

This Conditioner is what i've been looking for for ages now, and the fact you can get it from the supermarket without the hefty salon pricetag = love!

This is my new go to Shampoo/Conditioner combo and I will definitely be purchasing this from now on!!!

This was a good product, Definately made a visible difference to my hair.

It made it harder to style my hair at times tho.

This conditioner has a gorgeous scent and the consistency makes it super easy to apply. I found that my hair was absolutely smoother than with other products I have used and yet it did not feel weighed down with product. A great conditioner.
