My new go to shampoo!

This shampoo delivers everything it promises plus much more! This stuff really brought the life back into my hair. It also has a really nice scent that isn’t too overpowering. It’s lathers up nicely and a little bit of product goes a long way. I feel so much more confident now that my hair doesn’t feel like an oil slick. My hair feels so lightweight and has a beautiful shine to it. The green bottle is very eye catching and easy to open, plus it’s great value for money. My search for the perfect product is finally over. Will definitely be purchasing again. Highly recommended to all.

Tips: You don’t need a whole heap of product as a little bit goes a long way.

New favourite!!

I have thick, shoulder length hair which gets oily quite quickly. This is the first affordable shampoo I have used in a long time that actually works! The smell is really nice, not overpowering, and stays in my hair for the first day. My only gripe is I need to wash my hair twice in order for it to feel cleaner. But then again that makes it smell a little more like coconut too so can't really complain!

Tips: Double wash if you have thick or oily hair and don't be afraid to use the conditioner either

Bouncy non-oily hair

I am very very happy with this shampoo and it is definitely going to be my go-to from now on. Roughly 6 months ago I had my hair cut to include a fringe and since then I've had more trouble with oily roots (yet dry ends due to colour damage). I also have a mid-range amount of curls in my hair, I have found that I have to be careful choosing my shampoo and conditioner because some products weigh my hair down and some lead to frizz. So with knowing all of that, here is my experience with this shampoo:

The bottle is simple and nice to look at, in a very bright green. I like that it is made of recyclable materials. The shampoo itself is a slightly thinner mixture than what I'm used to and it takes a bit more rubbing to get lathered (but give it time, because it does get there). The scent is very refreshing to me, not as coconut-y as expected, but I guess it is coconut water rather than milk. I found a second wash with a very small amount of extra shampoo (after rinsing) made my hair feel great.

This shampoo made my hair feel very clean and balanced (not dried out at all). It definitely improved my oils, as I was able to have 2 full days of non-oil-slicked hair between washes, without that annoying half day of looking terrible. I was very very impressed with how full my hair looked after using this shampoo, full and curly, because of this I was happy to wear my hair out for 2 days. My hair did knot easier than usual (something I contribute to both the shampoo and me being more free with my hair styling). All up a very lovable shampoo which helped the health and vitality of my hair!!

Side note: I love that this is a silicon free shampoo, something I've been looking for without having to break the bank for a while now. Great value shampoo right here.

Tips: Takes a bit of rubbing to lather properly, but it does get there. Also I found it useful to do a second wash with a very small amount of shampoo after the first wash/rinse.

Affordable and Effective

Garnier's new Coconut Water Shampoo is paraben and silicone free. It claims to cleanse, rebalance and purify the scalp and result in rebalaced hair with a clean scalp and hydrated ends that are not weighed down. So what were my impressions?

Let's start from the outside in. From the outside the packaging tells you what the product aims to achieve and puts forward the concept of Garnier being recycle friendly. The bottle itself is a standard shampoo bottle, which means I instantly get more shampoo than I need when I use the bottle. But it could be worse.

The product inside smells fruity which suggests to me that more fragrance is used than in perhaps needed.I expected it to have more of a coconut scent, given how coconut water is highlighted on the label.

In terms of effect, my roots feel clean and oil free for about 3 days. Which is fairly standard for my hair with a good shampoo. I'm not convinced that my scalp has been purified. But it is certainly clean. The top of my hair feels hydrated enough, but those dry ends are still there.

All in all I like the shampoo and it is an affordable option I would consider using again.

Tips: A serum to hydrate the ends is needed for dry ends along with the shampoo and conditioner.

Favourite of the 2!

I was lucky enough to receive this range to trial. The packaging is great - I love the vibrant green, that just looks clean and appealing. I also like the eco-friendly packaging and the lid opens well with wet hands in the shower and closes securely.

It smells fruity, and lathers well. I like the shampoo the most because I feel it give my hair a really good clean! Especially since my roots are often quite oily. It just leaves my hair clean, soft and feeling amazing! I did follow it up with the conditioner on a couple days, but I feel that the conditioner didn't do much when I used just the shampoo alone.

Overall, I would repurchase the shampoo again! For the price, it's a bargain, and is pretty much suitable for everyone because my family uses it too and love it.

Smells devine

I get bad dandruff and out of all the garnier range shampoos, this one doesn't dry out my scalp as bad, must be the coconut water. So if you LOVE the garnier range and have a sensitive scalp like me, try this one!

Cool as a Coconut

I really enjoyed trying this shampoo as I have natural tendency for oily roots and as my ends have been bleached they can often be dry feeling.

The packaging is sleek and I prefer the new click lids on these bottles versus the old design. The bottle now stands up sturdy in my shower and closed with an audible click so no chance of leaks. I do however miss the signature neon green bottle that was easy to spot on the shelf. The text is clearly written and it's easy to see which variant you are buying. I think the word shampoo should be larger however to distinguish the two bottles more obviously. I don't like that standing the bottle up on the lid means the design is then upside down, but that is more my tendency for order than an issue.

The smell is absolutely delicious, I loved showering with this and made me want to wash my hair daily.

Texture was nice and sleek, the colour is a pearlescent white and it's frothed up really easily.

It definitely cleaned my hair really well without feeling like it stripped my scalp of all the oil leaving it dry and more likely to make more! I even noticed less hair fall during this week :) My ends felt more nourished and very soft! However it didn't seem to help their frizzy nature.

Overall I like this shampoo, it's a good affordable price and i will continue to finish the bottle and see if it improves my hair over more time. I would repurchase this product.

Good option for a silicone free shampoo

Overall I thought this was a pretty decent shampoo. I have quite oily hair and it'll usually need a wash on the second day. I thought this shampoo had a funny smell at first but I actually quite liked it as it's quite fruity. The smell does actually linger on till the next day but not as much as I like. The positives of this shampoo is definitely being silicone and paraben free as excess build up of silicone can make your hair more oily, so going silicone free is definitely a good change to make in your hair products. I think it did a pretty good job at washing and my hair definitely felt nice straight afterwards and the day after. One thing I found quite odd was that it wasn't as sudsy as a would've liked and I did feel like I had to use a bit more compared to other shampoos. I'd say it's probably not as good as other shampoos out there but it's a good option if you have oily hair and need a bit of lifting at the ends.

Lovely shampoo

I loved this shampoo! I have tried quite a few shampoos and this is right up there for a supermarket brand. I have thick hair so from the outright i knew i would need more product then normal.

First of all the packaging is great, it is a reasonable sized product and price compared to the organic brands in the supermarket. It is easy to access and stands well on the shelf.

The smell is beautiful not overly fruity and not coco nutty at all. I had to shampoo twice due to thick hair, but thankfully my hair didnt feel like it had been stripped which i have experienced with other shampoos.

It lathers really well and rinses quickly as well.

I have managed to go three days between shampoos and my hair once straightened held for a lot longer as well.

So two thumbs up on this product, will buy again!!

Garnier Fructis Coconut Water Shampoo Review

This shampoo is differently scented compared to the matching conditioner. Personally I think the scent of the coconut water conditioner is nicer. I like that this product is without parabens which are linked to cancers but I do note that there is still sulfates in this product. Sulfates are what make the bubbles and foam when you wash they can often strip too much of the natural oils in your hair making it dry and less shiny as well as potential to dry out and irritate your scalp. Sulfates can even get through to the hair cortex which can lead to dull fizzy looking hair because they can powerfully strip your hair and skin of its natural protective oil this allows the bad things like pollution, pathogens harmful microbes so you are at higher risk of getting sick. Even though the additive in this product can be argued to not be a true sulfate (due to being short an atom or two) it is just as damaging. Aside from all this and I must mention that sulfates are in most shampoos and beauty products so this product brand is in no way alone in that aspect. A positive for this shampoo is along with the coconut water which helps hydrate, the fruit extracts in this product may help nourish the hair, give hair volume, help prevent hair thinning/falling out and combat dandruff. Now for the performance of the shampoo: The product lathers decently but soon afterwards all the bubbles disappear as if my hair absorbed all the foam up. Because the foam or bubbles disappeared on my hair with this shampoo, I then felt the need to add more of the shampoo to get the bubbles back and "properly" wash my hair. So I feel the consumer of this product may feel inclined to do the same as without bubbles it does not seem like efficient cleaning if that makes sense. This is not the first shampoo I have used that has this affect and It will be something to do with the chemical composition. My hair felt soft after use but I did use with conditioner it did seem a bit frizzy at the ends at first but the next day the ends had settled down and actually curved nicely. The thing about this product brand is that will make me repurchase in the future they have modified the plastic packaging to make it more friendly to the earth I will be keen to try some of the other types from this brand.
