Another dry shampoo disappointment

During the trial for this range the Dry Shampoo is what I was most excited to try, but unfortunately this was a flop for me. This claims to be specifically for oily thin hair, which mine is on my top half of my hair. Due to my oily roots I need to wash my hair everyday, but due to my damaged ends I usually succumb to tying it up for 2 days then washing. I so desperately wanted this to be the answer to my hairs woes. I can't honestly say that it made my hair feel refreshed in any other way than smelling good. I sprayed this into my roots, massaged it in, left it a couple if minutes and gently brushed it out, as recommend. I was left with hair that looked stale, weighed down and somewhat dull where it was applied, but hey it smelt good. The cost of this product is maybe a telling sign, for $7 bucks a can it is a nice cheap scent for the hair but nothing more. I won't be purchasing this again & my hunt for the perfect product between washes continues.

L'Oreal Clay Dry Shampoo

I was super excited to try this dry shampoo, more than any of the other products in the range, but I just couldn't fall in love with it, I was so gutted.

The best bit about this dry shampoo is the scent, it did leave my hair smelling fresh which I loved because the scent lasted all day, but in terms of taking away the oiliness it juts didn't work for me. I did like how it wasn't white and powdery like some other brands, but maybe because it isn't as powdery it doesn't take the oil away? I wouldn't buy this product as I know there are others out there which do the trick for me.

A dry shampoo fail

I have very oily hair and I’ve never tried dry shampoo before, so I was excited to get chosen to try the L’oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Dry Shampoo. It comes in a 150ml bottle and it also has a lovely scent. The texture is like a light hair spray.

I wash my hair everyday second day, so I used the dry shampoo on days I haven’t washed my hair. I followed the instructions on the bottle. I shook the bottle well and sprayed it to my roots from 15cm above my hair. I did this to each section of my hair, only targeting the roots and let it soak in for 2 minutes. Once it has set, I lightly brushed it with a comb.

I was very disappointed and unimpressed with this dry shampoo. The dry shampoo didn’t absorb the oil like it said it would, instead made my hair very greasy, sticky and even oilier. The worst part was my scalp got very itchy, but I did have nice smelling hair.

Tips: Cover your face when spraying it onto your hair

L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Clay Dry Shampoo

After using the rest of the product range with great results, I had high hopes for this product. I was quite disappointed. I regularly use dry shampoo in my hair, so I am no stranger to how this sort of product should work. This one failed to deliver. On the third day after washing my hair, some oil started to show on my roots. I applied this dry shampoo as I normally would, and it didn't really make much of a difference. I still had a lot of oil on my roots, and my hair seemed to lose some of its shine where the product was applied. I tried again the next day when more oil appeared, but my hair still looked like an oil slick so I had to give in and wash it that night. Usually dry shampoo can tide me over for about 3 more days before washing. I won't be using this product again.

Dry Shampoo

Again, I like the packaging colour, other than that it's pretty standard. The product itself comes out as more of a fine mist than the normal dry shampoo I am used to. This scent is way too strong for me.

I was impressed with the rest of the range and looked forward to using this. It took awhile to be able to use it since the other products do their job so well.

I'm glad I waited. It let me down. My hair had built up a decent amount of oil, but nothing more than my normal 2 day build up. I read the instructions and though they were a little different I followed them. I sprayed it in, left it for a bit and then brushed it. I assumed that the spray was collecting up the oil or something and then might get brushed out? But I noticed no difference. I tried again, this time messing my hair up with my fingers straight after - this made a slight difference, some of the oil seemed to be gone. Across my part was still pretty oily though.

I tried again a few days later, knowing I was going to wash my hair that night anyway and I had the same results. It just didn't do enough. A normal dry shampoo can get me through another day, but I had to wash instead of using this.

Tips: I don't have any tips for this as it didn't work for me at all.

Worst dry shampoo I've used

I received, gratefully, this whole Elvive Clay range from BR to review. I'm a massive advocate of dry shampoo and I was pumped to try this out. That's about where my excitement ended. I sprayed this product on my oily roots (day 2 after using the hair mask, shampoo and conditioner... I wasn't expecting oily roots!) and... Nothing. My hair was coated in a fine mist, that was slightly damp. "Maybe it dries" I thought. It dried, excellent. But I still had oily roots. I shook the bottle again, and sprayed. I still had oily roots. "Maybe it's me I thought". I tried the next day (day 3 since washing) and it didn't work: I headed in the shower to wash my hair. I tried again the following day - same result. I ended up using my Bastiste dry shampoo! I tried again for the third and fourth time, and have had to admit defeat. I can't get this work to work for me, at all. I've tried a LOT of different dry shampoos on the market (maybe up to 10 brands), this would come in, frankly, at the bottom of the rankings.

Tips: No suggestions, this didn't work for me at all!
