The best temporary hair colour I've used

I love this product!

It's a great affordable price, is easy to use alone, smells lovely and leaves your hair feeling soft and silky and looking beautifully glossy.

I used several different brown shades of Casting Creme Gloss, I loved it because it was ammonia free and didn't damage my hair. The instructions are easy to follow and the formula doesn't run everywhere. The colour lasts reasonably well and doesn't fade to an ugly dull colour like an ammonia formula would. It just transitions back nicely - I would top up every 2 or 3 months.

The included treatment conditioner smells awesome and makes your hair feel great too. I wish it could be bought separately!

If you've been tossing up between brands for a colour, I'd highly recommend this product.

Tips: Even if you don't want a big (or any!) colour change, this colour is like a hair treatment as it leaves your hair so shiny and beautiful. Recommended :)

Beautiful shiny colour =)

This is my favourite hair colour, it's super easy and the colours are gorgeous with such a wide range! It lasts really well but of course that depends what you expose your hair to!

Tips: Shop around as some places charge a lot more for this product than others!

It works nicely

I had had a really bad hair disaster and in which the hairdresser messed up my ombre hair and had instead bleached it dry. So I decided to buy the truffle brown colour to sort of fix it. It stayed in for quite a long time by my standards. I dyed my hair about 2-3 months ago and it's still good now, though fading a tad. The bee jelly shampoo and conditioner is lovely and gives you a healthy shine and moisturises your hair well afterwards.

Tips: It IS semi-permanent so just be aware of that. It does smell a bit.

Best brand

I would definitely recommend this if you were thinking of dying your own hair at home. I tend to only go to a salon for my hair colour now however when it comes to at home hair colour, I would definitely say that pretty much all of the l'Oreal ones are the best. Especially for going dark. Obviously there is only so much you can achieve with at home hair colour.

Tips: If you can, try to only colour your regrowth for subsequent applications otherwise you end up with colour build up that is difficult to get rid of if you are looking to change your colour.

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

L'0real casting Creme is easy to use. It gives a natural colour with natural looking variations to the hair colour. It leaves my hair feeling soft and healthy and is easy to reapply every few weeks. I use a range of colour in the 5 range and this keeps the hair colour looking very natural.

Tips: Check face after you have applied the colour and wipe off any excess that could stain the skin. Don't leave on longer than the recommended time

Works a treat

This is a great home haircolour to use - obviously nothing will match getting your hair done professionally but this comes a very close 2nd. The colours from Casting are gorgeous, really vibrant and natural, and leave your hair feeling lovely and healthy.

Casting Creme Gloss

When I first started dying my hair, I was looking for an option where it would wash out in the event that I didn’t like it (or the school didn’t like it). Before my rebellious highlighted days, this was the brand I would turn to, to dye my hair Mahogany Red. That’s the colour I have in my diary. These days I am no longer on the 28-wash wagon, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t have a soft spot for this.

Usually when I coloured my hair, it would last me about 24-30 washes, or six to eight weeks, maybe a bit longer depending on the colour. The colour would be vibrant and shiny and it wouldn’t really start to fade until about the tenth wash. There are a lot of cheaper alternatives on the market, but I had insisted on buying this, because the others contained ammonia and it burnt my scalp. Because there’s no ammonia in it, it’s an almost pleasant smell. You don’t have to worry about staining either, because it comes off quite easy enough. If you don’t want the permanence of other products, I’d suggest this one. Some colours are a bit harder to get out, but it does come out eventually.

Great Product

I am a Hairdresser and dont really like home die kits, My mum brought this for me to apply to her hair as she doesnt like paying all the time at the salon as her regrowth is white and needs doing every few weeks. I found it a lovely product and easy to apply, we used 5.15 and found it covered the greys/whites lovely and almost blends them so as the hair grows out its not as noticable. Also leaves the hair lovely and shiney and silkey.

Tips: Remove any colour from the hairline/face straight away for absolutely no stainage

Have used more than once

This is my preferred home hair colour if I'm doing it myself. I use the darkest brown colour pack, and it's great. Colour comes out as stated, and I find it very easy to use. Doesn't have quite as bad of a smell as some do either, which is a bonus. I have sensitive skin and have gotten mild irritation from different brands at times, however I have never had an issue with this brand. I also find that my hair is super soft and shiny afterwards, another added bonus! Although this is a temporary hair colour kit (which I used to avoid), I find that it lasts extremely well.

Pearl Blonde

Back before I started visiting the hair dresser to get my hair done I used to use at home blonde colours on my natural light-medium blonde hair. My hair is quite fine but theres a lot of it. I wanted to try a semi-permanent colour as I didn’t want to permanently stain my hair or have to grow it out. I picked the Pearl Blonde as my skin tone is fair but with a cool base and the ash and violet tones work best with my skin. This was super easy to apply , the mixture was a little bit runny so make sure you have all areas covered that you wouldn’t want any splatter on !. I tend to splat it around somehow (im not even sure how I did it) so it pays to cover everything as I did manage to stain my vanity (just a small dot but I still see it !). Aside from this it wasn’t difficult to apply at all and I did this by myself. I bought two packets as most dyes say two packets for hair that is longer than shoulder length however I easily got away with one packet – given my hair is quite fine. To me it smelled like all other dyes but not like that horrible peroxide/amonia smell you get with blonde hair colour – you don’t need to open your window for fear of suffocating in the peroxidey smell, so that was a nice change. The smell wasn’t overpouring and didn’t linger for a long time. This was easy to rinse out and after using the royal jelly conditioner it left my hair feeling fabulous when I got out (often home dying blonde hair does not leave your hair feeling this way). I really loved the soft silky feel I got with this dye. One downside to this product for me was the colour the pearl blonde on me came out extremely ashy – I do like ashy but this was borderline grey on my hair unfortunately – a very very shiny silky grey I might add but the colour was not right for me. I perhaps should have tried the ice blonde or something different. This lasted longer than I thought a semi permanent would and it didn’t dissapear completely it definitely changed my colour a little bit – but this wasn’t a bad thing. This is very reasonably priced and if it wasn’t for the fact that I picked the wrong colour I would have been really happy with this product. I would definitely recommend this to a friend I would just perhaps advise blondes to be more careful with their colour choices – although I think that’s normally the case blonde is hard to get right with home dyes.

Tips: Blondes careful on your colour choices :)
