L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo

After reading amazing things about the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo I was super excited to give it a go! My hair has been through the wars lately, after being coloured and heat treated lots, and it's become quite dry and brittle at the ends. Unfortunately I found this shampoo did very little to nurture and nourish my dry hair.

The packaging and presentation of this product was good, the bottle was a decent size and it was easy to disperse the amount of product needed.

The formula itself was good, too; this shampoo is creamy but not too thick in consistency. It lathered up very well in the shower, and had a subtle but pleasant scent. Washed out easily with no residue.

However, I just found this product did nothing to help my hair! My hair wasn't dried out or anything, but neither was it nourished or repaired like the product claimed.

Pretty unimpressed, won't be repurchasing, but would recommend for anyone looking for a simple, effective shampoo for cleansing your hair.

The total repair 5 shampoo smelled amazing and I had high expectations although unfortunately they didn't get met.

I found it to make my hair feel quite dry and almost tangled it more than it already was.

I didn't notice the shampoo strengthened my hair although when paired with the conditioner it did seem a bit shinier.

Really bubbly shampoo so you don't need much!

This shampoo first off has a really nice scent which does linger in the hair which is something i like in a shampoo, although that is where my praise for this product seems to come to a hault. This product was extremely drying to my hair (I have quite thin bleached hair). When i would apply this in my hair and lather it up it felt like a big matted mess on my head. once rinsed it feels very dry which surprised me as this product claims to make your hair feel stronger, look revitalized etc. I feel like maybe if you were a person with extremely oily hair or you use a lot products this would be a good product for you but my hair just did not like it.

L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo is a decent supermarket branded shampoo. I love the smell of the shampoo, it's typical of most of the Loral hair care range. I can't quite decipher the smell but it is pleasant with a mixture of floral and fruity scents.

The consistency of the shampoo L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo is creamy and foams up well but I needed more shampoo then i would typically use with other brands to get full coverage of the product.

I used L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo every 2-3 days for about a week and a half and I found that immediately after washing the shampoo out of my hair, my hair would become all matted and really dry (how that can even be possible when you are in the shower is beyond me!) but i found that using the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Conditioner in conjunction with the shampoo takes this problem away.

I also have the L'Oréal treatment mask and I tried using this after using the shampoo and conditioner once to compare the results and it worked wonders! My hair was left feeling fuller with more bounce. It also felt silkier. So this is one of those times where you really need to use the full product range to fully benefit from this product.

The only thing that I was not happy about was that I started to get flyaways since using L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo but I have found that by putting a little hair creme in towel dried hair solves this issue. KMS Freeshape Hot Flex Creme is perfect.

Overall, I would continue to use this product but would not go out of my way to buy this product, especially if it was full priced (RRP$8.99). I have seen it on special at the Pak N Save supermarket for $4.00 each and I think this is a more realistic price tag. but if you want to see the full results of this product it has to be used in conjunction with the conditioner and leave in conditioner.

I will say this product is only alright - good if your usual product is not available. It did not perform as well as my salon products in that it feels a bit like a gel and does not feel like it gets into my hair to clean it enough.

I'm very particular when it comes to my haircare because I have quite frizzy curls. This shampoo has the distinct hairdresser scent and lathers to a nice foam. It did a great job at removing my dandruff. However, I miss the fruity scent of other shampoos. It does do 3.5 out of 5. It felt stronger and looked voluminous, and was shinier.

Overall this was a pretty decent shampoo. Out of the 5 problems it claimed to fix it did the job for two of them, my hair was left looking more full and a lot more silkier. But in terms of damage repair and protection i feel that my hair has gotten more split ends and more damage than what I get with my regular shampoo. Over the few weeks i used this and L'Orea conditioner together my hair started looking very dry and brittle so I did stop using them (i think that it may have been the conditioner that wasn't very good). Overall i think that it is a good shampoo and definitely does it's job of cleaning your hair.

My hair is mid lenth, fine and dry and can be quite frizzy. It's damaged from salon colouring as I go lighter. This product claims to leave hair 1: feeling stronger - after two weeks I have noticed a slight improvement in the strength of my hair. It's not as brittle as it was and I'm noticing less breakage 2: looking fuller - haven't noticed my hair looking fuller however it seems more healthier so it's more sleek and dosnt boof out like it did before, which is good 3: looking revitalised - my hair does look more healthier then before, even after straightening and blow drying 4: silkier to touch - as my hair is feeling healthier it is smoother and does feel softer and smoother 5: with a healthier shine - my hair was very damaged but I am noticing some life coming back to my hair, and a slight shine This shampoo had a nice fragrance that wasn't over powering, foams up well and a little goes a long way. I think for a supermarket shampoo this is a good product with an also very good price tag which I will probably buy again.

I have been using this for about 2 weeks now and have mixed thoughts on it. I love the bottle and the fact it can rest on the lid ensuring you can get maximum out of it. I also like the colouring of this bottle...I think it looks nice in the bathroom against the white. The shampoo itself was creamy opaque colour which I found interesting as all my other shampoos have been clear colour. This foams quite a bit so you only need to use a minimal amount. It didn't really feel like it cleaned my hair all that well, although in saying that, my hair was definitely not greasy afterwards. I wash my hair on average twice a week and found that this was still ok using this shampoo. With other shampoos it feels quite squeaky clean after rinsing, but with this, it feels like you could almost skip the conditioner. Perhaps this has something to do with the repair element of this. The smell of this was nice the first time, but I found it to be a bit sickly by the last time I used it. Also, usually my husband will share my shampoo, but it was way too much of a feminine smell to this for him to use. Its hard to tell if my hair has been repaired much, but it does look sort of shiny and is soft after using this but not greatly different to other shampoos. I have found that my hair hasn't been falling out as much as it usually does. I would use this again but only if it was on special. At $9 a bottle, I think there are other cheaper products that would do just as good job.

This shampoo definitely made my hair feel smooth and silky and I really liked the smell of the shampoo. I think you have to take into consideration the price range of the shampoo and when doing this I would recommend this shampoo. I'm not sure that after the trial period my hair was stronger but it definitely didn't damage my hair further and my hair was silkier to to touch.
