L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo Review

I was very fortunate to receive the shampoo the day I had my hair cut and coloured.

The shampoo comes in a attractive red container, very easy to use.

The fragrance of the shampoo is pleasant and lasts most of the day.

I found that I did not need to use much shampoo as it lathers very well.

After washing, conditioning and drying my hair, I found my hair was nice and soft.

My colour has not faded, and still has the same appearance as it was when I left the hairdressers

Container: A red 250ml plastic "tube" like bottle. The lid is a flip lid that opens on the top. It is flat so should you want to you could stand the shampoo on the top.

Appearance: The red of the container is bright and attractive. The writing on the front is in gold, orange and white.

Information: The label is clear and informative. It has a clear list of ingredients, a clear and informative paragraph about the aim of the shampoo. Overall for the container/packaging I would give it a 4/5. There is nothing that I can fault the package and presentation on. It is attractive and informative.

The Product: A sweet smelling white cream like shampoo. The shampoo smells delicious. A teaspoon lathered up and offered a good foam that felt like it was cleaning my hair.

To begin I followed all the instructions, it worked brilliantly. I also used it as I would use my normal shampoo - without conditioning and I found that once again I was not disappointed. The shampoo cleaned my hair without leaving it feeling dry or "squeaky". My hair was a little more controllable and has a little less fuzz using this shampoo. I can say that my hair was coloured a week before receiving the shampoo. It is a copper colour which tends to fade, with this shampoo I have not been disappointed my colour has lasted and my hair feels silky smooth.

I am delighted with the results and will definitely purchase this shampoo in the future. It offers a salon like smooth finish to your hair and although it was for protecting my colour I have noticed that my hair is far more manageable!

For the fragrance I would give it a 5/5. For the texture/thickness of the shampoo I would give it a 5/5. For the results I would give it a 5/5. Using the shampoo with the conditioner I would give it a 5/5, using just the shampoo the results are not as fantastic but good as with the conditioner.

BRILLIANT.

I have to admit here that I'm a bit of a shampoo snob, I only ever buy from my hairdresser. Suffice to say I was sceptical about any benefits this shampoo would bring. I was so wrong! The first thing I noticed was the delicious smell, then how clean my scalp felt (I'd just had a sweaty session at the gym so was really putting it through it's paces). Over time I have noticed how great my colour looks, I've got blondish highlights which look soft and fresh. This shampoo snob is definitely converted!

I received this as part of the trial and So far I am really impressed with this product. I've recently recoloured my hair mahogany with bright red highlights so the timing was perfect. The first thing I noticed was that when I lathered up my hair, the foam didn't turn pink like it has done with other products. I also loved the feel of the foam, really soft and silky. It leaves my hair feeling really clean and soft. Although the one time I thought I could get away with only 1 wash, my hair was greasy and dull the next day.

I have been using these products for 2 weeks now, I applied the shampoo with my hands, it smelt great. Making sure to massage it through my hair and onto my scalp, it was easy to rinse. I must say I usually have a slightly irritated scalp. My scalp did not like this product much, it began to itch inbetween the daily washes.. My hair did seem to be more greasy, although it wasn't from left over product ,as I made sure I rinsed it out. Overall I didn't like he product as it irritated my sensitive scalp more.

I was really looking forward to this trial because I typically dye my hair more...unusual colours. At the moment I have been rocking the purple but I had a slight dye mishap leaving me with green hair which I have to slowly cut out due to it being permanent which means I couldn't test this shampoo as well as I wanted to in terms of how long the colour lasted.

In saying that I do find that my green hair does seem to be much more vibrant from using this shampoo. It has a pleasant smell and while my hair was a bit knotty after washing it out my hair tends to always be like that if I don't use a conditioner.

I think I will put it aside and use it retrial it again when I can redye my hair just to test it properly but overall I do like it

I received my shampoo in the post very quickly thank you BR team, and I was really looking forward to using this product as I have changed my hair colour from dark brown to light brown with blonde highlights.

I liked the smell of the shampoo, and the packaging is pleasing on the eye, it is a nice slim shape to help with storage in the bathroom.

I have very curly hair and quite dry,and I found as I was washing my hair with this shampoo, it was making me hair all matted and knotted up and felt like straw.

I tried different ways of washing my hair, but still found the same result, matted hair and all knotty, not a nice feeling. No matter how much or how little I used of the product.

I did not notice any difference to my hair colour at all. The colour faded as much as it has done before, and it certainly was not looking radiant or shiny as it claims.

My hair felt quite dry after washing, and when I was blow drying my hair, I found my hair was becoming more frizzy.

The positive comment on this product, is that it did not make my hair oily at the roots at all, even after 3 days, unlike some other colour shampoos I have tried. This is a great bonus, as it means less hair washing for me.

My hair was not looking any shinier and was not feeling any softer, even though it claims to do so.

I found that it does not nourish the hair enough for me to want to buy this particular product in the future, but I would not be put off trying other L'Oreal shampoos, as I feel I need to maybe try a shampoo for dry hair instead.

This is an affordable shampoo that everyone can use, and easily found in all supermarkets.

I've been testing out a few colour protect shampoos to see if any are helpful for retaining my temporary colours just a little bit longer. This is one of the better ones I have used. I really enjoyed the smell of it, and I found that I didn't need a lot to lather nicely for washing. It's difficult to judge on the colour retention factor, but I did find that it washed out around the same amount or less on the first wash after dying, so that seems good in my opinion!

After dying my hair to Ombre shades I was more than happy to give this shampoo and conditioner a go! I really feel like my hair has improved since using these every second day. The shampoo- Smells amazing which lasted right through to the next wash (sometimes longer than 2nd day). Foamed up nicely and didn't leave my hair feeling dry like a lot of shampoos do. I have noticed my hair a little more frizzy on the top of my head but it hasn't bothered me as my hair is frizzy anyway, so doesn't effect my review. I love the bottle how you can turn it upside down to get the most out of the product, and I love the professional vibrent red packaging, it really stands out! As far as shampoos go, I would repurchase for the price! When used with the conditioner I was looking closely at the colouring of my hair, I haven't noticed much difference with colour fade, but maybe over time once I have finished the bottles I will be able to see how the colour looks.
