Mixed opinions

My review of the regime is mixed as my hair really didn't respond well to the shampoo at all, but the conditioner was fine, so in future I would only use the conditioner and not the regime together. The shampoo and conditioner both come beautifully packaged in semi-transparent blue pump bottles. I thought the packaging for the regime was stunning for supermarket products and the pump bottles made the regime so user-friendly in the shower and ensured no wastage of products. The fragrance unfortunately, wasn't my favourite. The shampoo and conditioner have the same basic scent, which I can only describe as reminding me of like acne/face-wash products that have that kind of strange artificial cleaning scent, which isn't the kind of aroma I enjoy on my hair. In the shampoo was the scent was very strong, but it was quite subtle in the conditioner thankfully. I have my hair bleached to blonde, so it's more sensitive to hair products, and unfortunately the shampoo was not a match for my hair, although the conditioner was fine. The shampoo I think might have over-cleaned my hair, it lathered up well but straight away my hair felt super dry and straw like and I ended up with frizzy roots. It was so drying I don't think after the trial I would use it again. The conditioner was able to resolve some of the drying out the shampoo did to my hair, but not all of it. The conditioner did a decent job, it did everything a conditioner should do and it didn't dry my hair out, but it definitely wasn't the best supermarket conditioner I've tried and I didn't have any particularly special results from it. I think it's definitely a conditioner you can purchase and you won't go wrong with, but it just wasn't anything to be amazed about. I've given the regime 2 out of 5 on all ratings as the shampoo brought the regime down for me, I would score the conditioner a 3 on all scoring points, but I had such a bad time with the smell of the shampoo and its effects on my hair that I can't score the regime much higher. I caution my review though with the fact my hair is bleached and that undyed or bleached hair would probably have fine results with this, my hair is definitely more sensitive and the regime promised to be gentle, and I think the shampoo just wasn't as gentle as it promised to be.

Tips: A small amount of both the shampoo and conditioner go a long way, so use sparingly.

Not as good as I'd hoped

Disclaimer - this is a first impressions review. I received the products on Thursday, and started using them on Friday. This review was written Sunday. I'll be coming back to update this at some stage soon! :)

Hair situation: Mine is shoulder length, and half year-old dye, half my natural silver grey.

Both: the packaging is attractive - I love the shorter squatter bottle shape. The pumps are securely locked initially, and when released dispense a good amount of product easily. I like the colouring, it vibes clean, fresh and modern. I absolutely hate the pointless extra labels that pop up - removed them immediately, and was mad at them for existing. Neither the shampoo nor the conditioner have a discernable scent. My hair dried (with a drier) pretty quickly after using this range, and blow dried reasonably smooth. After using my straightener it needed serum but looked good.

Shampoo: clear in colour, which distinguishes it from the conditioner easily and stops the moment of picking it up in the shower to check which is which. Lathers to quite a lot of foam, and the foam is quite light and airy. On first use the dyed ends of my hair felt a little dry after this, but we'll persevere. The non dyed upper parts felt nicer, so could just be the nature of the two parts of my hair. Washed out really easily from my hair, and didn't leave a scent. I use two pumps.

Conditioner: thick and white, but needed 2-3x more conditioner than I did shampoo per use. This is pretty usual for supermarket brands, in my experience. I usually double condition my hair, but on the first use of this range I chose to use just this conditioner and see what happened. It coats hair well when you have enough of it, and has a slightly slippery texture to it that helps it move through hair well but made me wonder if it was sitting on my hair or actually soaking in. It's a little harder to wash out than the shampoo, again due to the texture of the product, i think, but only a little and still rinsed out cleanly. My hair didn't feel QUITE as hydrated as with my usual products, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.

After washing, drying and straightening my hair, it felt nice - clean and soft - but had definitely gone a tiny bit frizzy and dry looking, and needed a serum to calm down. This continued through the 2nd and 3rd washes, but didn't get any worse. I'll likely stick to using this every 2nd or third wash, with the more hydrating products in the middle. The non dyed part of my hair seems to like this a lot better than the dyed part, so it could well be that this isn't a hydrating enough range for the dyed parts of my hair. I'm a major micellar skincare fan and was keen to see what it did for hair, but...... meh.

Tips: I got better results applying conditioner to the lengths to protect them from the shampoo when washing my roots, then rinsing it all out and re-conditioning lengths :)

Update: shampoo bad, conditioner okay. Have given the regime away so someone else can try it. The shampoo dried my hair out more and more.

Not overly impressed

After using this only a couple of times, I believe these products would be gentle enough to use everyday. They smell great and the pumps on the bottles is a great feature. I used 2 pumps of each product per wash and my hair felt clean and well conditioned. I did find that my hair was fluffy and extremely knotty after washing and conditioning. For the price I don't think I would purchase these as I would rather use my usual brand.

Not spectacular!!

I don’t normally use Pantene as they are known for the sulphates which is a drying substance but I was surprised by what I got out of it.

The shampoo has the consistency of a gel and it has a very strong floral scent, lathers well in the hair and rinses very easy as well.

After I had used the shampoo for the first time (which lathered well), my hair felt nice. I used the shampoo a few more times just in case to see if there was any change and it dulled my colour and dried my hair out but not as bad as I expected to be honest.

I wouldn’t use again as I don’t want dry hair but I’ll put aside and will try again at another time.

New Pantene micellar shampoo and conditioner

Thank you for the opportunity to review these products. I really am a fan of silicon free conditioner in particular and am pleased with this one I feel Pantene got a negative view from alot of people in the past because of what was in their products and the affects on the hair so development of a silicone dye and paraben free option is given me high hopes for their reputation now and I think this series will be great marketing and appealing to customers. I have learned more about micelles / micellar water skin and hair products as a result of being able to trial these products because it inspired me to find out about them for the review and interest. I am keen to see what their next micellar and or silicone free line is like and I do like this conditioner. I like the shampoo too but will stick to using it once a week as I found it too harsh and I got an itchy scalp from frequent use. It is a shampoo that deep cleans like a clarifying one but for me I disagree that it is gentle enough for daily use. Micelles combined with other alcohol agents in the shampoo are quite drying and may take too much natural oils from your hair like sulphates. So while the two products are designed to be used as a set I will try the conditioner with my other shampoos / more frequently than the shampoo. I possibly would re purchase the conditioner. I like the scent 8f the conditioner it scent seems strong enough. Often I find matching conditioners smell faint compared to its partnering shampoo. I dislike the packaging of the products as I think while the extra sticker is there to grab attention they should just write what's on the sticker on the original label. The pump dispensers can be closed but you need to push them down to do this then screw them shut and this is fiddly, causes product waste and doesn't make the products travel friendly for me. The pro vitamin b5 is what I think loyal pantene users love and reading up about it makes it sound very appealing to hair and I like that it is also in this new micellar product. The sea minerals / salt will help boost circulation of the scalp supporting hair growth, purify and help hair to keep its natural shape for example help emphasize and maintain natural curls and waves in the hair. Be aware that continues use of sea salt products is drying too though. To conclude; so far I'm enjoying the conditioner and I think if your into micellar products you might like to try these. Also if your hair is weighed down and you feel like a scalp and hair detox consider trying the shampoo. I do not recommend it if you have sensitive or dry scalp. If you prefer warm heavier sweet musky scents to fresh than you may not like the scent of this.

A bit more hype than result

I had never heard of micellar products for hair before but genius! The packaging is beautiful and maybe I am biased as blue is my fave colour but it is appealing and decent sized bottles. I like that they have pumps however I do find this frustrating near the end of a product when you cannot get the last remaining amount out. The consistency is as you expect shampoo and conditioner to be and it spreads really easily as well as rinses out quickly and easily. The coverage is great, you really do not need to use too much at a time. The scent is pleasant however it does not smell like anything in particular. I did not open the bottle and have that moment of, "Ooh, this smells nice!" It was not unpleasant but I prefer a product to leave a nice smell in my hair after I have washed it and this doesn't have that effect. The cost of the product seems expensive but is on par with other micellar hair products. It is not a price I would generally pay for shampoo and conditioner unless it gave me really shiny and smooth results. I expected this product to do just that but it let me down there. It felt nice in my hair just after washing at night but by the following day, I did not find it partiularly shiny or smooth or nice like other products do and this was fairly disappointing. I do not think I would recommend it as I personally would not buy it myself due to the lack of result I got. I was really excited to try this product but I think the hype was a lot more than the actual result.

A Really Decent Regime

The product packaging is cute. Pale blue circular, pump top bottles. Easy to control the amount of product dispersed. Has a light scent, I don't know what it is but it's nice. Not overpowering.

The shampoo is great for oily roots! It really does clarify the scalp gently and leaves it clean. I also noticed the usual day to day build up between wash days was a lot less than usual. I do feel like the shampoo helped with this. The conditioner is quite moisturising and leaves my hair super soft.

Both products together are a good option. I really do enjoy and prefer at this point the shampoo as I feel there is a bigger improvement compared to the before condition. The conditioner is still a good option but I feel that my frizzy curly/wavy hair needs more moisture than what this provides.

I do think further use over the coming month could show better results. Which I will update. At this point I think this regime could best suit fine hair with oily roots.

UPDATE: Have used for over a month and hair feels softer with each wash. Have noticed a bit of improvement with manageability. However it doesn't help at all with my flyaways. Definitely can get away with a few days between washing.

Great for oily hair

I have oily hair with dry ends and have been trying for years to find the right shampoo and conditioner regime to address this. While I don't think I've found my holy grail regime with the Pantene Pro V Blends Micellar range, I do think this is an affordable substitute that others might enjoy. I felt my hair was really clean after using the products, which I really like. However I don't think it can be used everyday because of the sulphates in the shampoo which caused my scalp to itch after the second or third use.

Tips: Try not to use everyday as the sulphates can detrimentally strip away the natural oils in the hair that keep it healthy

Great Hair Regime

I have enjoyed using the Pantene Micellar regime and would recommend this to others. Both products had a good consistency to them and they were simple and easy to use with the pump system. I though they both gave good coverage , better than my current regime for the product used. I liked the look of the packaging. I was happy with the results - my hair was shiny after use and didn't need to be washed again for 3+ days. My hair can be frizzy on the day I wash my hair and i felt it was less frizzy after using the Pantene Range. I did find the smell of the product to be quite strong and little overpowering, but this while only while washing, and enjoyed the smell after use. I would recommend and will buy again.

Tips: You don't need a lot of product one pump or one and half will do.

Pantene pro v blends micellar regime

These products work really well together! Once my hair is dried it looks and feels fantastic.. I do have to brush knots out of my hair after its washed and conditioned which I am disappointed about. The bottles are great in the shower but I do find them difficult to tell apart as my eyesight isn't great without my glasses on. Overall I would definitely recommend them!
