Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

All things aside, the first thing I have to say about this product is that the light colour is much too dark for me, despite the fact that I am not overly pale. However, colour aside, I can see how this product is good for oily skin. As the winter months are coming on, my skin has become much drier, so the product doesn't work overly well for me, but it absorbs any oil that is on my skin, which makes it good for oily skin. The consistency is quite watery, so when I opened the product, it kinda went everywhere. It was however, easy to apply and blend, and sat nicely on the skin, I would say medium coverage. It has a slightly powdery finish, which I am not a fan of, but it did last nicely over the course of the day, wearing out as the day went on. I would say I much prefer the normal formula to this one, and probably wouldn't purchase again.

I am a huge fan of Garniers BB Creams but this particular one just didn't work as well for me on its own. Firstly I prefer the 'standard' packaging with the shorter, wider tube for storage (this one is a tall skinny tube - with less product). I also found the pointy 'applicator' messy and hard to control the product. It didn't help that this BB Cream was very watery, it came out quickly and I often ended up with too much. It also has a very strong chemical scent which I did not like. Compared to other varieties I thought this one had the greatest coverage with one application - still a very light coverage but I was pleasantly surprised and didn't need as much powder as I usually did. I chose the light shade and felt it was a bit too light, but was easy to fix with a bit of powder and bronzer. What really disappointed me about this product was that it dried to matte very quickly - I loved the matte finish, but felt I didn't have long enough to blend the product in before it dried and appeared rather patchy. I absolutely loved this product as a base for foundation. it definitely reduced my pores and controlled the shine from coming through. I will continue to use this product as a base but will stick to a 'normal' BB cream for daily use.

I was very sceptical about wearing just a BB cream in place of a regular foundation as I am normally a full coverage girl. I trialled the product in the days immediately following the birth of my baby, when you don't have the time or energy to put on a full face of makeup. While it didn't cover many blemishes, it did even out my skin tone and help give my face a fresher, less tired look. If you had relatively clear skin, this product would be perfect. If you had only minor blemishes or uneven skin tone, this would be a suitable substitute for foundation when you just wanted something to even out your skin a bit, but would probably need to use a touch of concealer. This product does not do much for acne sufferers or those with blemishes and I probably would not wear this myself if going out, but would around home to look slightly decent if visitors popped by.

I have combination skin and found the consistency and finish of the cream lovely. It was light and easy to apply with my fingertips (like a moisturizer), and had a reasonably matte finish. As I am fair I had to be vigilant in blending around the hairline and jaw as it did look a bit orange. It had a very unobtrusive, moisturizer like fragrance and was non-irrative. When put on in the morning it lasted fairly well throughout the day, although I did reapply in T-zone in early afternoon. The BB cream is packaged in a squeezey tube and as it is quite liquidy you do have to be careful to only squeeze gently so as to not end up with an excess of product that can't be put back in the tube. I wouldn't call this a miracle cream as it still left imperfections visible, more like a step above a tinted moisturizer. I imagine people with clear skin, who just need a little something extra would quite enjoy the light coverage it provides. My teenage daughter liked the idea of wearing it to school as it doesn't sit heavy like a foundation but unfortunately even the light was too dark for her fair skin.

Ok product for the price, which seems fairly standard.

I would recommend this product for people who like a sheer coverage or who don't normally wear makeup.

I was excited to try this product and used it as soon as it arrived! I love the fact that it goes on easily and you can apply it with your fingers or a blender, it feels quite light on the skin. It does tend to come out of the tube very quickly and makes a bit of a mess in the lid, this maybe because it is quite a runny product. I used it on its on with two applications and it lasted all day at work, I found the medium color to be a perfect match to my skin tone and love the matte finish. I would recommend this to people that are looking for a light coverage but still one that covers imperfections

I loved this BB cream, great coverage for a BB cream and managed to cover all my red spots. Not great coverage on my under eye area although good for a BB cream. The matte finish was perfect for my oily skin and managed to last the day. A little goes a long way so I know the BB will last me a while, I only use a pea size amount an that managed to cover my whole face! Blends really well using my foundation brush and almost instant matte coverage. I don't believe it helped clear my skin or prevent breakouts, although it did not cause any breakouts or make my skin worse. This BB is great if you are after a natural look as the coverage is great without being too thick. I would recommend only using a little bit. I did not need to use a powder after apply either. This product is well priced and I will definately continue to purchase this product. The packaging is not that appealing and I feel it needs to be much more simple without looking like an advertisement. I will defiately be recommending this as a great daily BB to girls with oily skin. Love this!!

I have been looking for something for over a year that's not oily and this product has ticked all the boxes. It's so easy to use and the colour is a perfect match for me. This will definitely be in my make up bag from now on. Hope others enjoy this as much as I do!

This is my first time using a BB Cream and can i just say i absolutely love it. It is so easy to apply, the texture is very smooth and light gives me a flawless medium coverage without looking like a foundation. I love how it looks with everyday eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. Even without any other makeup it is great for just applying then starting your day. It gives a very natural appearance to my skin with the bonus of concealing any spots i don't like on my face. If you wanted a more fuller coverage you can just apply more. I have an oily t-zone so i was worried that shiny look would come thru without touching up with a powder, but this bb cream has exceeded my expectations and lasted me all day without having to apply anything so its a 10/10 for me :)

My two main criticisms of this BB cream is that the 'Light' shade isn't all that light. I wear NW13 in MAC Studio Fix and it was too orange for me. I had to work with the product on my neck to avoid orange splotches/foundation line. My second criticism is that the formula is very thin, thinner than most moisturisers. I guess it comes down to personal preference, but if you prefer a thicker BB cream/foundation, then this probably isn't the best product for you.

That being said, the BB cream did wear exceptionally well on my (oily) skin. It also did this without being too drying which, in winter, is very important. The product stayed on all day both with and without a setting powder. When I wore it without a powder there was naturally more of a shine to my face but nothing that was a major problem. It evened out my skin and covered my redness, it didn't cover blemishes but concealer fixed that. It also didn't wrinkle under my eyes which was a major plus. I also tried it out under MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation and it held up extremely well. The foundation helped balance out the colour also.

Overall, I wouldn't re-purchase this product because I personally prefer a thicker BB cream but again that's just my preference. The colour might match me better in summer so I'll try it again later in the year.

I always need a foundation with good coverage due to my big pores and redness. I thought i would try the bb cream on my day off so i could keep an eye on how well it covered me. I was quite surprised how much coverage i did get from how thin and lightly it applied. I did have to reapply to my chin and cheeks every couple of hours and did get a bit shiny through out the day too. Definatly my go to make up for days at home but not enough coverage to wear to work. I like the big long tube also, its easy to find in my make up bag.

I tried Garniers BB cream last year and was not impressed my face felt greasy and heavy.Now having tried the product again in the oil free version I understand why everybody seems to love it. It is perfect for everyday wear because it is light and easy to apply.You receive the coverage without that caking feeling of foundation and leaves the skin feeling soft and healthy.Its a cheap alternative and will last a long time if used sparingly (still have mine from last year).It is make-up for the non make-up wearer.
