Reviews
This cleanser comes in a 130ml squeezy tube, with a flip-top lid - generous size, and easy application. It's sort of a gel/cream consistency. It smells really nice, like watermelon, although the smell doesn't really linger.
To start with, I thought I was reactimg badly to this, as I was getting a few pimples. However, I think I just wasn't using a large enough amount, and perhaps wasn't lathering it in enough. I increased the amount from a pea-sized dollop to a 20 cent-sized dollop, made sure to work it in to my face really well, and the pimples cleared up.
I find this does clean my skin really well, although I first use the Garnier Micellar Water to remove makeup. I have combination skin, which can get dehydrated in the colder weather, so this is a great option for me. It leaves my skin feeling nice and hydrated, not stripped of moisture.
I have seen this product recently appear at Pak n Save, and it's a great price, so would repurchase for sure!
Tips: Make sure to lather it up well.
I expected this cleanser to come out of the tube as a white milky texture but infact was a clear jelly like consistency but lathered up milky. The watermelon smell is not sweet which I like, very suttle.
My face was left feeling fresh and plump, the hyaluronic acid and watermelon helped to rejuvenate my skin. I usually find products with hyaluronic acid leaves the skin feeling tight but this did not. It also works well to remove makeup, I always find removing foundation difficult but this worked a treat.
I will continue to use this as a face cleanser daily
Tips: A little goes a long way
First of all this product comes in a 130ml tube, which is so much bigger than my other cleansers and you only need to smallest amount to do the job so I know this will last me a really long time which is great for my bank account. Smells so nice too, if you love watermelon scent you will love this product. Comes out in a gel consistency which you just rub in gentle circular motions on your face and neck, also works really well at getting off your make up and even water proof mascara which can be a nightmare to remove. It is vegan friendly and made from recycled materials which we all love! Haven't noticed much of a difference in my fine lines yet but it has only been just over a week in using this product but I definitely have noticed a difference in my skins hydration and not being so dry looking and coming into winter this product will be a life saver for my skin.
Tips: Wet face, apply small amount to finger tips and work into your skin in circular motions and then rinse off in warm warm or with a wet warm cloth. If wearing mascara I find using a cloth gently over the eyes is the best method to get most of it off.
I am really liking this cleanser. I was expecting a more creamy product due to the name but it is a gel cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh and not tight which can happen with gel cleansers. The fragrance is nice a subtle. Too early to really say if it is improving my fine lines but I have high hopes.
Tips: A little goes a long way so don't squeeze out too much!
This cleanser comes in a generous and sturdy tube with a strong flip lid, I found the packaging pleasing. The consistency of the cleanser comes out similar to thick clear jelly, however once it has contact with water (i.e. - once you massage it onto damp skin) it turns into a white milky texture.
You don't need a lot for this milky cleanser to do its job! I found it effective in cleansing my face with or without makeup on, easy to rinse off with just your hands or with a face cloth.
Afterwards, my face doesn't feel too 'stripped' or tight, it feels clean and hydrated as the product claims to do. I think it's a good choice for the colder season seeing as it's designed for dehydrated skin.
I don't think I used it for long enough to notice any difference to my fine lines but overall I was happy using this cleanser. It's one that would last you awhile and would be good value for money, if you don't need all the bells and whistles with your cleanser. Would recommend for younger or normal/combination skin.
Tips: Everyone is different in how rich a lather they need to work up in their facial cleanser, but I found that a little goes a long way once mixed with water on your skin. :)
Garnier green labs Smoothing Milky Wash with hyaluronic acid and watermelon and targets dehydrated skin and fine lines.
The wash is kind of like a milky colored gel and works like any other gel cleanser I’ve used.
The wash claims to remove makeup and impurities for smooth glowing skin without the tight dry feel. I felt it did have a slight tight feeling, but overall it was insignificant. As a makeup remover it did well however.
It also claims to leave skin bouncier over time. So far I can’t say I’ve noticed any change.
Garnier has marketed this product under their green labs label. As such, the packaging is made with 20% recyclable material, while the product is vegan, has no sulfates, microbeads, parabens or dyes, and it is made at a plant that uses renewable energy.
I really love to see big brands like Garnier making an environmental difference, so the green labs concept is a winner for me, but would love to see them continue to build on that until their packaging is made of 100% recyclable material.
Tips: Remember: a cleanse a day keeps the impurities away.
Usually Garnier really impress me with their products, They do what they say they’re going to do with no frills or fanfare, but I just don’t love this one. It’s by no means bad, and it is a nice cleanser however I thought it would do more considering they’re branching out to include things like Hyaluronic acid. The branding was “milky” however I felt it was more of a gel or cream cleanser, the consistency was quite thick and I struggled to get it out of the lid. The smell was pleasant and the product size was very generous. I will say that a little goes a long way so you would get a lot of washes out of this, BUT I often felt like I needed to double cleanse, which I personally do not usually need to do. Following use, I did feel nice and hydrated which is a bonus. Overall this product was not bad, but did not wow me like I had hoped. It cleanses as it says but I did not notice any increases smoothness or change to fine lines as it implies.
Tips: If using to remove makeup, be prepared for a double cleanse.
This cleanser was not what I expected. I was excited to see my skin really full of moisture and it did the exact opposite. It actually made my skin really dry. I used it every second day after this due to it making my skin feel really tight. Even after adding the serum it was still quite dry. I am so disappointed as I was super excited to try this product. There are some good things about it. I did like the smell as it was a nice watermelon scent. I liked the consistency of the cleanser as well. I really liked the packaging as well. Really cute colourings and would go well in the bathroom. I would use this possibly every second or third day and alternate with another cleanser. I have combination skin so it might work better with normal skin.
Tips: Use a heavy moisturizer after use. Make sure you also use sunscreen!
Oh man, I really wanted to love this... The name implies a milky formula, but it's definitely a gel formula that kinda liquifies when you mix it with water. Gel based formulas are best for oily skins as they can be quite drying, which is how I found this cleanser. I didn't find it hydrating at all! In fact, sometimes after using it, my skin would look flaky. I don't even have dry skin normally, I'm a combo/oily t-zone.
I do like the scent though. It smells like my car air freshener haha, but a lot more mild. It is an artificial melon scent, so if you don't like artificial scents, you probably won't like this.
Tips: Avoid if you have dry or dehydrated skin. Follow up with a super hydrating cream.
