BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette Review

This is a lovely palette full of 18 high quality shimmery baked eye shadows that are highly pigmented with great staying power, Each shadow is named after the contents of the galaxy sun, mars etc and the colours match the names. The packaging is purple strong cardboard which a magnet to keep it securely closed a mirror inside and the 18 shadows which are quite large they will last a long time. Its a great palette and the quality is amazing but its just not my eye shadow style its super bright I haven't been and don't see myself reaching for this often so I regret buying it for that reason alone.I brought this off Nzsale for $18

Amazing Colours!

I love this palette! The colours were so far out of my comfort zone orignally, but I love experimenting with them an creating some different looks

The shadows themselves are really highly pigmented, and I don't find they give too much fall out when applying them which is great! For a really affordable palette the quality of the shadows is great!

The palette is so versatile, you can create some really vibrant out there looks and I also like using another palette to do a neutral eye then using the Galaxy Palette to add that pop of colour under the bottom lash line!

There are so many different ways to play with this palette, and I love the variety of the similar colours!

Tips: Use a cream based shadow under them to make the colours pop even more!

Out of this world.

Galaxy eyeshadows packed in a beautiful, colourful and fun palette? Heck yes! As soon as I saw this I had to have it. I was intrigued by the colours and I really like baked eyeshadows. When this arrived it far exceeded my high expectations.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous. It is quite a large palette and is made out of cardboard. The lid of the palette features two cute astronaut girls and it has a large mirror on the inside.

It shuts with a magnetic closure and has 18 baked eyeshadows that are named after planets. Each shadow name is printed above each shadow.

A lot of the shadows have veining in them to represent a planet or have something to do with the galaxy. Each shadow is super shimmery and appear as follows;

Sun: This is the first shadow in the palette and looks like the sun! It is a warm gold shadow that has pretty red veins through it. It swatches out as a warm gold.

Jupiter (one of my faves): Jupiter is a deep pink (almost red), that swatches very similar to how it appears in the palette.

Prometheus: This appears as silver with red veins in the palette. When swatched out it appears silver with a slight red tinge.

Aphrodite: A deep red with slight pink shimmers in it. This swatches true to pan.

Milk Way: Similar to Aphrodite, this is silver with lilac veining. It swatches out to silver with pinkish shimmers.

Cosmic: A beautiful lilac shimmery shade that swatches as it appears in the palette.

Saturn: This is gold with red veining. When swatched it appears as a lighter gold than Sun, with red undertones.

Venus: A bright, pigmented, shimmery orange! Swatches exactly as it looks in pan.

Meteor: An ice blue with sky blue veining. This swatches out as a beautiful pale blue (almost silver), with a slightly deeper blue undertone.

Comet: A aqua/baby blue that swatches as it appears.

Earth: A silver base with light and dark blue veining. This swatches out to an incredible blue that mimics the colour of the sky.

Neptune: This appears as a mid tone blue and swatches out as such.

Mercury (another fave): A red brown with light blue veining - this swatched out to a gorgeous brown with a slight blue shimmer.

Mars: A red brown that appears red brown on the lid ;)

Asteroid: A cool brown with blue veining. This swatches out to a taupe that has a blue sheen.

Uranus: An ice blue colour that swatches out to a colour a polar bear would wear :P

Moon: This has a white/silvery/blue base with brown veining. This swatches out to a purplish taupe with a hint of blue.

Eclipse (yet another fave): An absolutely gorgeous blue/silver purple. This swatches out true to pan and is stunning.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. I think it is such a versatile and unique palette - you can create both wild and subdued looks. The price for what you are getting is amazing and the quality doesn't suffer whatsoever.

Tips: Be careful if traveling with this! It isn't travel friendly. I took this with me when going away for work and my 'Sun' and 'Jupiter' shadows broke :( I am guessing it is because they are so soft and buttery, that they can't handle any kind of trauma. Thankfully the shadows are still useable - they just don't look as pretty as they did when I first got it. If you are traveling with it, pack it carefully.

Out of this world beautiful

I've always tended to stick with neutral-toned eye shadows, earthy shades of brown with the odd metallic gold. Previous bad experience with poorly-suited eyeshadow left me incredibly wary of wearing colour, but after seeing how stunning this palette online and reading Kirstysays review, I had to have it!

The printed packaging of the Galaxy Chic Palette is so fun and eye-catching, I think it perfectly suits the bright and sparkling eyeshadow selection. It's quite large but perfectly smooth and flat so easy to store and handle. The magnetic closure makes it easy to open and close, and I like the mirror on the inside lid as it's a pretty decent size so has come in handy for me at times. What I also really like that my other palettes don't have is names of each shadow have been printed above them.

There are eighteen beautiful, shimmery shadows in total, each representing a a different planet or star. So much thought has been put into them, with beautiful veining through a lot of the shadows. The colour selection is really complementary allowing you to use several shades together in an easy look, perfect for beginners like myself. My personal favourites so far have been Cosmic, Milky Way and Aphrodite, glittering shades of purple.

The colours are really long-lasting, even without primer although I would still suggest wearing them with it. I am so in love with this palette and incredibly happy that I took the chance to purchase it online from BH Cosmetics directly, it was such a bargain and the service was fantastic. I can't recommend this palette highly enough, it really is astronomical!

Tips: For a quick pop of colour dampen a thin brush with a setting spray or water and apply the shadow wet along the lash line for a more intense look.

Galaxy Gold

I originally purchased this purely for the AWESOME design. I absolutely love the galaxy theme and just 'had to' get it. I purchased mine from dollmeup.co.nz and am happy I did as I absolutely love it (for more than just its cute design).

First of all the baked shadows in planet appropriate colours are just too cute for words and the packaging is one of my favourites of the many palettes I own. It is sturdy and bigger than I expected also which is cool.

The palette includes 18 shades which I would describe as:

Sun - A warm frosty gold

Jupiter - A warm frosty pink

Prometheus - Frosty white with a reddish hint

Aphrodite - A warm frosty red pink toned shade

Milky way - Frosty pale cool toned pink

Cosmic - Frosty lilac

Saturn - Pale frosty warm toned gold

Venus - Bright frosty orange

Meteor - Pale Frosty white with hint of blue

Comet - Frosty aqua blue

Earth - Frosty ocean blue

Neptune - Frosty darker blue (not quite as dark as a navy)

Mercury - Frosty cool toned light brown

Mars - Frosty warm toned medium brown/coppery shade

Asteroid - Frosty cool toned Taupe

Uranus - Frosty icy blue

Moon - Frosty cool toned taupe with a purple hue

Eclipse - Frosty cool toned darker purple

I love that all shades even with the multiple coloured shades mix to a lovely wearable shadow. I particularly like the shade moon and think it is a pretty unique but awesome neutral taupe shade.

I am super impressed with the quality of these shadows too considering the price I paid for the palette. The shades are beautifully pigmented, long lasting and don't give me issues with fall out.

I think most of the shades are very wearable and I will get a lot of use out of many of the shades (but, maybe not Venus (the orange), as I really don't like orange in general). It would have been cool to see a few matte shades included but even without them I am pretty happy.

I would definitely recommend this palette as it is not only super fun and cute but contains some really nice shades of great quality that look great on the lid. It is definitely a value for money kind of palette. Obviously if your not a fan of shimmery shadows though this would not be your cup of tea, but, to all my fellow shimmer fans...what are you waiting for!

Tips: Apply wet for a more vibrant look. Use a primer to help with longevity, pigmentation and fallout.

Great review - these look stunning and $30 for 18 shadows seems really reasonable! I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.

Fun in so many ways

I adore this baked eyeshadow palette, it has such an array of colours and its just so beautiful to look at!

My favourites are definitely the blues and greens in this palette, Neptune is a gorgeous metallic bright blue, Comet is a shimmery mint green like a snifter and I adore Cosmic a glistening lavender colour.

They have a smooth texture with fantastic pigmentation. They are very easy to work with and are build-able for a darker shade, and they just blend together beautifully All shades in this palette are shimmery/metallic.

I had no problem with these shadows fading throughout the day especially with the addition of an eyeshadow primer. I got a good 6-8 hours wear till i washed my face. Love using them wet to create some amazing eyeliner colours or face paint, such a fun bright palette and the possibilities of looks are endless, I haven't tried out all the colours yet but I'm super excited to try them all :)

For the price this is a fantastic versatile palette

Fun shades

This palette is fun, it has a great range of shades and as the shadows are baked the colours are well pigmented so you don't need to use a lot to get a great depth of colour.

Tips: Prime your lids to ensure the product stays all day!

My first BH cosmetics pallete and I fell in love. This pallete is so unquie with its colours and creativity. I enjoyed most colours of this pallete. Highly pigmented and easy to blend. Very affordable.

2 Thumbs Up!

This was one of the first ever eyeshadow palettes I ever purchased and for the price, it is an amazing quality.

Shadows are quite creamy and quite pigmented like all other BH cosmetic products. I really enjoy the different colour options within the one palette, you're forever spoilt for choice. The colours do look a tad different in the palette then on the skin, so it would be best to swatch them on your hand first just to check it's the colour you want.

As the shadows are baked, they're quite shimmery so if you don't like your whole eye look to be shimmery, I would definitely incorporate some matte shadows too.

I also use some of the really light shades as a highlight every now and then, as the shimmer is quite fine so if you can find a colour that suits you as a highlight, then I would definitely recommend you use it.

Tips: There is some fallout when applying, mostly from blending so would recommend doing your eyes first before the rest of your face or using shadow shields.
