I'm very new to eye shadow primer. Had a theme wedding to attend that I knew was going to require more makeup than I normally wear and I didn't want to be touching up every hour or two so I did some research, and this product was highly recommended. For me, first impression was great - love the packaging. Secondly, product did exactly what it said it would. My eyeshadow stayed put for the entire wedding and helped ensure that the colours didn't crease or fade. It's five stars from me, would definitely purchase again.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Review
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is THE most legendary primer in the beauty industry. Eyeshadow Primer Potion is coveted by makeup artists and makeup junkies alike because it guarantees more vibrant eyeshadow that lasts for 24 hours and NEVER CREASES!
Once you experience its powers (plus how smoothly it glides on – an added bonus) you'll never want to live without it. Original formula dries down invisibly, while Eden, Sin and Greed are shades that can also be worn as shadows or highlighters!

I received a mini bottle of this in a set and loved it so much I bought a full-sized.
This primer is a must-have when creating dramatic eye looks, or even if you just want that bit of reassurance that your eye makeup will last all day.
A little goes a long way and it is very easy to blend. Eyeshadows are more vibrant and last the whole day without creasing.
You need to use mascara after using this though, as it turns your eyelashes white if it gets on them, which is hard to avoid.
Tips: Squeeze a small dot onto your fingertip and blend onto eyelid. Sets immediately so you can apply makeup straight away!
I don't think I will ever use another eye shadow primer! This stuff is SO good. I have long understood the importance of eye primer and used different brands, they certainly made a difference and I would sing the song of the eye primer birds BUT this stuff is a whole new level!
At the moment I am using the 'Original' shade but I can't wait to get my hands on 'Eden'.
The formula is soft and silky and really easy to apply, it spreads a long way and does not feel tacky at all. It comes with a doe foot applicator, I tend to use this to put it on the lid then smooth out with my finger.
I have tested out an eye shadow palette using the same shades, one day with the primer and one day without. The difference was huge, when using this product my eyeshadow looked the same at the end of the day as when I applied it. Still as pigmented and not smudged at all, even after 12 hours.
Sometimes I find eye primer can make eye shadow harder to blend but that was not the case with this brand.
This is now my holy grail!!
I love my primer potion! I have the original one and use it all the time. It comes out as a thick but light nude cream and disappears on the lid.
You can really tell the difference when you use primer potion as a base, the eyeshadow sticks more meaning less fall out. Over time there's less or no creasing on the lid and the colour stays more vibrant. I find this so handy as it means I can use the eyeshadows I have that don't have great longitivity on their own.
Tips: Apply to a raised blemish before concealing to make the concealer stick all day!
I love to wear eyeshadow but I have to fix it every hour due to it all moving into my crease. I started using this product and I don't think I will ever not use it again! It hold it's perfectly, it doesn't budge. I no longer need to make a conscious effort to remember to keep an eye on my eyes when I go out because I know they'll be looking good all day/night
I was expecting miracles with the primer potion, I really was. I mean, every YouTuber and their grandmother raves about UD primer potion to go underneath eyeshadows. And it works, it totally does. I just do not see any difference between the primer potions (I've tried all four) and any other eyeshadow primer out there. I honestly prefer a MAC paint pot or a NYX jumbo pencil, or even my foundation of the day to the primer potions. Maybe I was doing something wrong, although primers seem pretty straightforward to me. Anyway, yes they work. No, they don't work miracles. Sad face.
This is a great eye primer! I always try the products I buy on myself before I use it on my clients. I can't say enough about this primer. It does make the eyeshadow more vibrant and last longer.
I was given a sample pack of the eyeshadow primer. There were four different types but they all did basically the same thing. When was anti-aging, one was shimmery, one was basic, and one was matte. They all made my eyeshadow pop. My shadow lasted hours through BBQs and get-togethers all-summer-long last year. I really liked the shimmery one to add a little Sparkle to Flat eyeshadows. I was even able to go swimming and my eyeshadow was still on. I didn't submerge myself underwater but I was splashed a few times. The only thing is it seemed like if you left the package open for very long, the primers all seem to dry out quickly. I guess just keep them tightly capped. This is a really good primer but it's also an expensive primer so I would recommend if you can find sample sizes for sale to buy those instead of the full size.
Tips: Do not let this dry out. It does not work the same if it gets dry. It will crumble and pill.
I have the anti-aging version because I am now officially in my late 30s. It comes in a pretty purple tube with a doe foot applicator. After applying, I like to blend in with my finger.
It is creamy, not oily; easy to apply, and dries down quickly on my eyelids. It keeps my eye makeup on for hours without creasing which is great, because I don't really do subtle eye shadow looks.
I really like this primer. I'd buy it again.
I brought this eyeshadow primer in the original eyeshadow version.
Its a reasonable thick formula but is creamy and glides on my eyelids easily. It looks just like a concealer. It can take a minute or so to dry properly, so to save time I usually apply the primer after doing my foundation and then move onto applying something else before doing my eyeshadow.
The sponge applicator is reasonably flexible but I find to much comes out of the tube and when you wipe off the excess it ends up going everywhere, wasting some primer.
It does an excellent job of helping prep your eyelids for eyeshadow. It doesnt crease and helps my eyeshadow stay on longer. I highly recommend this and look forward to trying the other versions.
