BRBB Score

I was rather pleased to see a brush in the last BRBB and got into straight away. It's a nicely shaped and sits in your hand well.

I have found it not to be my favourite for contouring as the bristles are quite short and dense, in my opinion I prefer something with a bit more "fluff" to it as I find that easier to distribute and blend the contour powder on my cheekbones. My end result was a bit harsh looking for my taste.

What I have found it better for is applying foundation and will continue to use it for that.

For its price tag it's not a bad brush, just not for me. I feel it would be best suited to someone just starting out with make-up who doesn't have a great deal of money to spend on brushes that they aren't sure whether they will get much use out of.

It seemed to wash up pretty well and that's encouraging. No shedding and it dried well.

Sorry Cameo, I won't be re-purchasing.

Contour? Not so much. Foundation? Absolutely!!

I love makeup brushes, so it was really exciting to see this in my BRBB, especially given it’s from an inexpensive and easily found brand. So far it’s actually surpassed expectations, although I’m using it differently to how the name suggests.

In terms of how this looks and feels it definitely isn’t super luxurious – simple silver plastic handle, metal ferrule, and tan synthetic bristles. It’s not super heavy, but the bristles are nice and soft. However, it’s not ugly, it’s just no-fuss, which is fine by me.

I tried using this for contouring, but I prefer using a really fluffy brush so I don’t pick up too much product. I found this, while being a nice shape and size to fit in the hollows of my cheeks (or at least where they should be if I had any haha), was pretty dense, and meant that I had to blend heaps and heaps to get my bronzer/contour shade diffused enough for my liking. I did use it a few times for applying highlighter, which I liked, but again, I already have brushes I like to use for that.

The way I’ve really loved using this is as a foundation brush. The angled flat top means that I can buff liquid foundation out really quickly and easily, and the synthetic bristles mean it doesn’t soak up too much product. I have been really impressed in that it doesn’t leave any brush streaks whatsoever, and to be honest, I’ve enjoyed the finish even more than the one I get when I use my RT buffing brush (shock horror!). Using this brush, I can apply my foundation perfectly even more quickly than if I use my fingers.

I’ve cleaned this a number of times now, using my Bossy brush cleaning kit, and I haven’t experienced any bristles falling out. It does take a wee while to dry, because the bristles are so densely packed, but once it is dry it’s as soft and ready to go as ever.

This really has been a gem of a find, and I’m so thankful it was included the Beauty Box. For the price and quality, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to try a buffing-style foundation brush.

Great little brush

I've never had a brush like this before. I mainly use it to apply and blend highlighter and blush. Its definately better than a normal 'blush brush' as it gives you a little more control over application. It has short bristles but a lot of them and it gives a really nice coverage. I'd certainly buy another one, have really enjoyed using it. :-)

Tips: First time users go easy and apply more as you go otherwise you will end up with distinct lines from your product.

Yes! Yes! an affordable and decent brush

I received this in the most recent BRBB and was a little excited to say the least as I'm forever trying to find that one brush that is the right size and density for my cheek area as I have a small framed faced most blush brushes are too big and I end up with product all over the place.

Packaging, well this isn't much packaging to a brush other than it's handle makeup which is a silver toned grey plastic solid number with a silver tone metallic barrel attaching the soft camel brown toned bristles that are short but densely packed.

Being short but angled with the bristles all gathering into a tight circle I found that although the brush is designed for contouring it worked brilliantly as a cheek blush applicator and highlighter for strobing. Soft bristles means your don't have to work really hard to get a nice even blend and deposit a good coverage of colour.

I didn't encounter any fall out or poking from bristles, there is no harshness to it at all. After washing it at the weekend there was no movement or loosening of bristles and none fell out. It quite happily kept its shape during wash and whilst drying. Making it as good as new.

Highly impressed from such a low end priced company would recommend.

I have never contoured but am excited to try it for blush, I loathe brushes that loose bristles (except in their old age) so I'm glad to hear this one is pretty decent. I might even try it with a highlighter- when I get me one of those!

I'm finding it really good too Kirsty, and I wasn't sure it would be so good given the economical price.

A Lovely, Multi Purpose Brush

I really love the Cameo Angled Contour Brush, which I got from the latest Beauty Vault. The design is simple yet sleek, and the brush is super soft and of excellent quality which you can feel without even having to use it. I don't contour my face, but have used this brush several times for my liquid foundation and have found that it is absolutely amazing. It makes application super easy, and creates a soft, flawless finish within seconds. Honestly so impressed by the overall effect which this brush gives. Would absolutely recommend for anyone after a new foundation brush.

Contour Brush

I received this in the last Beauty Box and was really pleased as I wanted to experiment with a brush instead of a sponge.

The packaging, is very basic with a cardboard backing covered with sealed plastic. The brush has a metallic barrel attaching brown toned bristles . The brush is quite firm and is cut on an angle. With the PP of $10 it is very reasonable compared to a lot of other brands on the market. I found the brush easy to hold but found it left streaks on my face where I had applied make up.I had to use my sponge to smooth out the marks. I am inexperienced at using brushes so possibly some of the problem is my technique so I will persevere and perhaps wash a few times to soften the bristles which may improve the end result. I was pleased to have the opportunity to trial this and will comment further if I find the brush softens with use so marks are not left. No bristles fell out during use or washing but up to date washing has not improved the result for me.

Cameo Angled Contour Brush

I purchased this with the points I had earned from this site! I use as a contour brush some times to help me get those sculpted cheek bones. I have not tried a large variety of brush brands but I like this one it is not too scratchy and the angle on it helps with the definition for the contouring and dispersing of lots of product so have to go light handed. I think this can work as a foundation brush for liquids too by patting on the product. I am happy with this purchase and like the brush. It has lasted long too.

Contouring? Maybe not.

I had received the Cameo contour brush in the recent BRBB and I was delighted to try this. It is quite compact for a brush, it has a silver handle and has slanted bristles. I was interested at how dense this brush was and wondered how it would go with applying my makeup.

I found it hard to use when I used powder contour kits, the brush would pick up the product with ease but applying it evenly was a hard task. I would be left with patches all over my skin, and blending the products out would either make them look muddy or patchy.

I really liked how dense this brush was and started using it to cream contour which I found so much easier to do! Using the angled tip to precisely products and blending it out was so much easier than using powder.

I also found this did a great job at applying liquid foundation, the brush is small but compact so you focus on small amounts of your face. It leaves a really flawless application.

Overall I would repurchase this brush but only for cream contouring or applying foundation. Using this brush to apply powdered contour was near impossible for me!

I like it for blush

I don't normally use brushes when applying make up but I picked this up in an earlier vault and I really like it for applying translucent powder and blush (because I don't contour). It picks up a good amount of product and disperses it evenly.

The brush is so soft and blends powder out easily! Easy to clean too.
