I brought the original pink version with the cleanser for around $48 The price initially put me off buying for a long time however I definitely don't regret it. Without proper tools to apply make-up even the most expensive foundation will look cheap and this is why you need to invest in the beauty blender.
The sponge is a good size and fits nicely into the palm of my hand. It is very simple to use, simply fill with water, squeeze out excess and away you go! It feel almost like a marshmallow which I like as it's very gentle on your skin, never tugs or feels rough.
I use the wider base of the sponge for larger areas of my face, like the forehead and cheeks, and the pointed tip works best for precise, hard-to-reach spots like underneath your eyes or around your nose. This really does give you the most flawless skin. I have noticed some pink dye leaks out when cleaning the sponge however this is normal. Probably the only negative about this sponge is you do tend to use a bit more product.
Whether or not you are someone who invests in their make-up brushes or not, or even if you use your hands to apply your make up, I guarantee that once you try the beauty blender you will wonder what you did before it.
I use the round end to apply my foundation, I put the foundation straight into the sponge and dab it onto my skin until blended evenly. I then apply my concealer/highlighter with a brush and use the pointed end of the sponge to blend it in.
The finish I achieve is so flawless, and because I am dabbing with the sponge it sucks away any excess product and avoids brush strokes.
The sponge is very soft with almost a rubbery feel to it, when damp it becomes a lot more 'squishy'. It's best to use it when it's damp as it stops it absorbing too much make-up.
Tips: Use warm water and a little liquid soap to clean your beauty blender and once a month sit in a bowl, cover with boiling water and put in the microwave for a couple of minutes to kill any germs
