My skin is dry or prone to flakiness in the morning, and an oil slick by lunch time. Therefore, when seeking out a primer I’m always on the lookout for one that will give me a matte finish as well as helping my makeup go on smoothly. This primer, like others I have tried, did give me a nice smooth base that allowed me to then apply my foundation on afterwards without it getting stuck on any dry patches.
Unfortunately I didn’t see any real difference in terms of how matte my skin looked directly after applying or throughout the day whether I used this primer or not. It also didn’t minimise the appearance of pores (which I’m pretty sceptical any product can truly do anyway). It did deliver on its promise to not feel greasy or heavy - however I’m left wondering if maybe the texture did need to be slightly heavier in order to provide more of a matte base? It is reasonably priced though, so I would recommend it if you have normal to slightly oily skin. However, I’m still on the search for a primer that will truly help mattify my skin.
Full disclosure: This is the only face primer I've ever tried.
Applying this product before foundation has greatly reduced the occurrence of breakouts, pimples etc.
The consistency is light and it feels light when wearing it.
It has a weird smell but that's a minor inconvenience.
My skin is not particularly shiny to begin with, but I would say that it minimises shine resulting from foundation.
I have dry skin and found that this product worked great in terms of hydration levels. However, I would apply my day cream beforehand as I do every morning so that may be factor as well.
I recommend this product to others.
