Rimmel Stay Matte Primer Review

I have used this primer many times,as its matte this is why I purchased it,I dot it over my skin then use a small blending eyeshadow brush to buff it into my skin around my nose,cheeks and forehead,this gets the product into my pores and when I place my foundation on over the top it's a clear canvas,I have high end primers but this Rimmal one does just a good job as them,I still have some as I am typing this as I can rely on it for a matte finish with a matte foundation

Oily skinned gals you need to give this a try! I have naturally very oily skin which is great for me in the ageing department but makes it horrible for applying base makeup. The thing I love most about this primer is that it has no silicone feel, that's what I loathe about mattifying primers - they're so slippery and greasy feeling, like do I want to add that to my already oil slick face?! No. So this beauty is fantastic! It's semi thick, creamy white and blends out smoothly (leaves behind no white cast either). Any foundation I choose to use will work over this, the product doesn't ball up, look patchy, cakey or streaky like with the silicone feeling ones. Whether you're on a budget or not you should definitely give this a try, foundation wear time is prolonged, application is flawless and the finish is beautiful for hours!

Throughout the day my skin is seriously oily and I mean seriously oily. You can literally see the oil on my face and my makeup is just sliding off and patchy, so after looking around I decided I would try a primer to help make my makeup last and face less oily.

What more can I say other than I flipping love this product! It has honestly changed the way my makeup looks because it actually stays on my face whereas before I may as well not even worn any it looked so bad. It keeps my face matte, it doesn't get oily and so, therefore, my makeup lasts all day.

The product itself was smaller than I expected, it's only 30ml but the price is pretty good and it's worth it regardless! I haven't noticed that my makeup goes on smoother, it's just keeping it matte. This product is also great because you can also apply it over top of your makeup if you forget or think that you didn't apply enough, and it doesn't leave marks or mess up your foundation at all. I just used a stippling brush and dabbed it on all over when I tried this and it worked really well.

Would I recommend this product or repurchase? Hell yes! If you have oily skin, you need this in your life. I have no idea how I lived so long without haha. But seriously, it's worth a shot if you've tried other primers and haven't had any luck.

I had never used a primer up till a few weeks ago, studying beauty therapy opens me up to lots of new products and regimes id never tried, but when i learnt about primer i thought id give it a try. I wear Rimmel foundation so went for their primer also, it feels silky smooth when you apply it and my foundation goes on beautifully every day after using this primer. My skin stays matte all day which i love and my makeup looks beautifully applied everytime, i would not be without this product anymore, i love it.

So after searching for months for a primer that stops my skin becoming oily I found this product and have never looked back! I love to wear this on its own when I work and it stops my skin becoming shiny and with foundation, omg, it just helps your make up stay out all day.

I bought a bottle of Rimmel Stay Matte Primer from The Warehouse when I ran out of NYX Shine Killer and I was quite surprised the first time I used it.

The primer is packaged in Rimmel's signature white and purple 30ml plastic squeeze tube (white tube with purple writing and a purple lid) and the first time I used it, I thought I'd accidentally bought a moisturiser and was applying that. All the primers I've used in the past have had a clear, gel-like consistency, whereas this one is white and it looks and feels exactly like moisturiser, until it sinks in and dries to a matte finish.

A little goes a long way, and the ultra lightweight skin-perfecting primer definitely helps to control shine and disguise the appearance of large pores underneath foundation. I've found that waiting a few minutes between make-up steps gives me the best results, so what I do is I cleanse and moisturise, then let that sink in while I'm having breakfast, I apply primer and go brush my teeth, and then I start applying foundation and the rest of my make-up. This seems to give the moisturiser time to sink in, so it doesn't end up being mixed with the primer (and affect the mattifying abilities of the primer), and it gives the primer time to settle before having foundation applied on top.

I've tried a few different mattifying primers in the past and they all do pretty much the same thing, although this is one of the more affordable ones that I've tried so far, and I feel it works just as well, if not better, than NYX's Shine Killer. I'll definitely be repurchasing this when I (eventually) finish the tube.

I do like this product. The packaging is matte to the touch and I think that's a nice addition as the product is matte.. My skin feels soft and smooth after putting this on. It definitely is matte and it definitely blurs pores. It does help control my oils throughout the day under makeup; My makeup sits nicely on top of this.

I was on the hunt for an oil free matte primer, as my previous one appeared to be discontinued. I admit, I bought this out of desperation, but wow was I surprised with this! The thing that attracted me was the price, it is cheap as chips, and easy to find, so no worries for re-purchasing. The matte primer comes in a 30ml tube and has the consistency of a creamy moisturiser, it is not a light watery lotion, which is surprising as it is a mattifying product. The primer is white, and does not smell of anything that I can notice, I use this on my T zone, as well as my drier cheeks, and it works well on the skin, despite the combination skin I have. It melts into the skin and doesn't leave a residue, give it a minute to sink in, then apply the rest of your face! Super easy to use, I have repurchased this several times, works well in both winter and the hotter summer months, I highly recommend this if you need a mattifying primer on a budget

I'm very new to primers and when I saw this on love my makeup website I for a great price of $11 I added it to my cart.

The tube is a white 30ml tube, a very generous size. Purple writing and a purple screw top lid. Sqeeze it and out comes the product.

The primer is just a bit thicker than moisturizer and you can instantly feel the matte once it is on your fingertips. Glides on well and drys super fast. Reduces the apperence of my pores and doesn't over dry my skin.

Applying my foundation on top of this product j find if I use a sponge and pat it on I get a flawless finish. Using a brush I get a streaky look unfortunately.

I find I can use 3 of my 4 foundations with this product. 1 just doesn't sit well on my face with this primer. With all 3 foundations I wind up with a matte and flawless finish.

It lasts really well, I do find on hot days my makeup doesn't last all day with this primer but if u add a setting spray on top it doesn't move.

This product is worth the price I will continue to use this item but I am also in the market for a new one too
