MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Review

I don’t blame anyone making a face at the price when they see how small the bottle is but this is one of those products that is worth the investment and will last you some time. I can’t recall how long I’ve had this product but it’s definitely been a long time and I’ve finally just got under the half way mark so don’t be fooled by the small size. I bought this from MAC US (via Shipito) in the shade NC35 to use on my skintone NC42-44.

I don’t really have dark circles under my eyes to conceal so I use this product more so for highlighting under my eyes, up on the planes of my cheeks and down the sides of my nose. It has quite a thick consistency so it does require more blending than my other favourite concealers. I use a makeup sponge spritzed with Fix+ to blend the concealer into my skin and sometimes regardless of how well I blend, there is still slight creasing under my eyes. When this happens, I always avoid setting (my undereyes) with powder because it just looks ghastly.

The product has amazing coverage but I don’t know about it being lightweight?? I do find this the most “heavy duty” concealer I own but I guess it depends on how much you use and how well you blend it out. When I set the concealer in other areas on my face it generally lasts well into the afternoon; however without setting it, it generally begins to break up by the afternoon so not so sure about this "pro longwear" business. It’s not a noticeable difference to others but on my oily skin it’s not too hard to tell which is why I put in the effort to blend it well.

One thing I dislike about the product is the pump dispenser! Try as you might; you’ll most likely dispense way too much for what you need. I seriously need half the amount that is dispensed so it’s frustrating knowing that I need to try and make use of the ‘extra’ product. You can’t put it back into the bottle and I’m not one who likes to store excess product outside of it’s normal packaging because I feel like this product is as good as it is thanks to the packaging.

I would definitely repurchase this product but recommend going into MAC to ask for a sample so you can see what shade will work for you best. I used online swatches to figure mine out but nothing beats the real thing.

I held off buying this for ages as I thought I couldn't justify the price for a little bottle of product. BUT I caved and purchased it after hearing so many rave reviews about it and after trying so many concealers that creased on me. This stuff is AMAZING. It doesn't crease and is the only concealer I have found that doesn't. Perfect for the under eye area and also to use as an eyelid primer.

This is my holy grail concealer for under my eyes! It goes on so easy covers my dark circles and the best thing about it is that it doesn't crease!! Also you only need to use a tiny bit so the bottle lasts ages. i defiantly think this product is worth the price tag! Love Love Love

This was my first Mac product and damn am I impressed! I never really believed in spending ridiculous amounts of money on fancy make-up products until this! This changed my life :-P It covers up so well and is so blendable! It never creases under my eyes at all which is awesome. When it says 'pro long wear' it really does mean long wear! This stuff stays on super well. It's perfect for summer when you're face is a little more oily than normal and for when you're swimming or in the water as it stays on and doesn't come off at all (until you use a good make-up remover). One thing I didn't like at all about this product was the packaging.. Definitely needs improvement! The pump squirts out far more than what I use in one go so I feel like I'm wasting product. Also, why the glass bottle? Mine fell off my counter top and smashed on the floor.. Yay :-( Nonetheless, holy grail make-up item <3

After hearing so much about this, I purchased it, and I must say i'm not overwhelmed. Its a good concealer, its just not amazing, I don't like the packaging, you cant get a small amount out, just a huge squirt which you ending up wasting, and the colour doesn't particularly match my skin tone either. I don't really understand what all the hype is about.

Very expensive for what it is- but then again I guess all MAC products are expensive. This product is not for me. As a concealer I need a lot of coverage because I have black freckles all around my lips. It find that for me it doesn't give good enough coverage and it doesn't stay on for long enough. I find that a cream type of concealer is a lot better for me. I found that it was a bit of a waste of my money.

This concealer has become my holy grail for blemish coverage. I love the way that it can easily cover up pimples and redness without being thick and cakey. The mixture is very smooth while still providing high coverage, and a little bit goes a long way. I am yet to find a perfect concealer for my under eye area, but this is pretty close! I like the colour correcting I get from it under my eyes, but it sits in my fine lines a little more than I would like. Although it's pricey, a little goes a long way, and it does exactly what it says it will do!

Great product, AMAZING coverage and I love it so much I'm on my second round of this product. It's great in the under eye area and it's also great as a concealer to cover redness/blemishes (and it doesn't make me break out - bonus). My two irritations are: 1) The pump sucks. It squirts out far too much product which is wasteful! I can't always master a teeny press on the pump to get the perfect amount. 2) I can't get quite the right colour. I've got NW20 and NW25. One is too light, the other too dark, so I have to mix them up. dumb! That aside, this is the best concealer I've used.
