MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Review

It was love at first pump for myself and MACs pro longwear concealer. It gives damn good coverage with a tiny amount of product, yet doesn't look heavy or cakey.

Prior to purchasing MAC pro longwear concealer I had tried a few drugstore concealers, from Maybelline, Loreal and Thin Lizzy. These certainly all concealed, but they did look heavy and cakey. My main concern is undereye darkness and redness on my cheeks and chin. After my latest tube of Thin Lizzy had run out, I decided to try MACs pro longwear concealer, mainly to see what the hype was about, but without particularly high expectations. I slipped it in with a Nordstrom order, so it cost me $25.

The packaging is well, MAC. Sleek and functional. It is glass, so I certainly don't keep it in the bathroom as I can imagine it would break easily. The product is dispensed through a pump, which is hygienic and mess free. The product itself is slightly thicker than foundation, but thinner than the Maybelline and Thin Lizzy concealers. It is creamy and very easy to blend. Somehow this product manages to be both lightweight and full coverage, and that is what sets it apart from other concealers. It covers dark circles, redness and acne scarring with minimal amount of product, but leaves a flawless yet natural finish. It is not heavy or cakey and doesn't add a heavy feel to the skin. This holds its coverage throughout the day and does not crease or oxidise.

This product is totally worth the hype and I will be repurchasing.

I'm a longtime fan of many MAC products but had never tried the Pro Longwear Concealer. A friend recommended it to me when we were away together, so when I visited MAC Manukau to have my makeup done for an engagement photo shoot I asked the MAC makeup artist to applied it. I was won over immediately by how easily it applied and how well it concealed the big black circles under my eyes (my fiance said it looked like I had two black eyes!) that I had to purchase it.

I love the small packaging which incorporates a pump and clear bottle like a foundation bottle so you can easily see how much product you have left. The pump allows you to pump out just the right amount of product.

I have a lot of acne scarring and still suffer from the odd breakout, combined with those dark circles! On a daily basis I use this under my eyes and then a touch on any big breakouts, then when I want full coverage I'll blend this onto any other blemish poking through my foundation.

I have oily skin so need long-wearing makeup and this really does the job. This concealer has held up like no other and will definately be on my MAC repurchase list.

I am all for bargains (Online shoppaholic) but if I have to this is one product that I will go instore and buy. In NZ Mac Stores these retail for $40. They are of thick consistency and have a really full coverage so are perfect for my under eye circles and also good for brightening as well. It also has a matte finish which is perfect for oily skin and can also work great as a eye primer to make your eyeshadow pop. It doesn't crease which for me is a biggie as I have really bad lines under my eyes and this concealer helps cover it all up. The only con about this product is that sometimes I tend to pump more than what I need but other than that this is one product I will keep with me all the time. (Tend to use leftover concealer for defining my lips and brows) The product also lasts a lifetime. I have half left and I brought it almost 8 month ago. Highly recommend.

This concealer is an all time favourite! It is full coverage and is a thick liquid formula that is great to use on the bags under your eyes and for spots as well!

It has a nice tacky finish so that it clings onto the face but it also works really well as an eyeshadow base as it removes discolouration and the eyeshadow can stick to it. It blends out nicely onto any foundation but you will need to set it with a powder!

The only thing that is a bit frustrating is the pump. you cant do half a pump and I find that a full pump is waaayyy too much product and I have ended up wasting some.

$40 for $9mls sounds like a lot of money but because you only need a tiny bit and its a full coverage concealer, I definitely think its worth it!

This is my favourite under eye concealer. it doesnt settle into my fine lines and it works wonders on my under eye circles! i find its a full coverage for me. i do alway use a setting powder (elf HD under eye setting powder) and it literally last all day without budging. and even thought is small packaging it last me forever.

Holy Grail. This Concealer is amazing. This concealer sets matte, it doesn't crease, awesome coverage, besides the price ($40NZD) its just perfect. To be completely honest, I haven't found a drugstore concealer that does a better job. That's why to me, its worth purchasing. It is very long lasting, the only thing that I would be careful with, is placing this on areas with large pores, it doesn't really minimize the size of them. But where ever you put it, its guaranteed to last. If you do have an oily T-ZONE, i do recommend putting a small amount of setting powder on top. Just to ensure it will last all day. The Bottle is so convenient, small (for a liquid) and it has a pump which allows for easy, hygienic use. It comes in lots of shades. If you're like me (Very fair) I'm sure you'll find a shade that suits you. Overall, I would really recommend this product for all skin types.

I have dark acne scars on either cheek which can't quite be covered by foundation, I dab Pro Longwear on these areas and they disappear! It doesn't look cakey, crease or wear throughout the day and it's the perfect match for my Studio Fix! It's well worth the price if you can afford it, a little goes a long way so the small tube lasts a long time.

Again, I purchased this based on online reviews raving about it. I have always been a bit useless at applying concealer under the eye area but this one really tested me. I tried several different techniques to get this one to work well - flat top brush, Real Techniques sponge, fluffy brush, fingers. Fluffy brush and fingers, a Wayne Goss technique, seems to work the best for me a my 28 year old fine lines! You need to work quickly with this product and blend it out, but when you get it right it is flawless and stunning.

Best concealer I have ever used. Blends easily and you don't need much to get full coverage. 9 mls doesn't sound or look like much, but for the amount of product you actually use, it will last you for ages!

A friend tried this product on my skin as a makeup trial for my wedding makeup. It resulted in red blotches that stung for over a week later. I think the reaction scared me off the product a bit. I'm sure it's fine in general, but if you have fair, sensitive skin, be sure to use very soft brushes or sponges for blending and maybe test this product before applying it all over your face
