I bought the smaller size of this on the mac cosmetics official website. I was so excited to get it as I have always heard good things about it and its what everyone I youtubed was using to set their makeup. The first time I sprayed it, it didn't come out in a fine mist it came out like in tiny droplets. I was disappointed for sure then after I kept using it, it would spray a lot better. It was very nice and refreshing and left my skin looking more natural after using a setting powder. It definitely made my makeup last a lot longer. Would buy this product again for sure.

I feel like there is a secret with this product that I don't know yet, because I just don't find it as epic as all the reviewers below do. Still, this isn't uncommon for me with M.A.C (their Strobe Cream for example just doesn't agree with my face!) so maybe that's why.
I picked up a 30ml of this passing through duty free in Hong Kong, which was about $16 NZ. For that price, it was totally worth a try.
The packaging is the typical classy simple M.A.C - black writing on the plastic bottle which in this case is a see through silvery white with a black cap. I like that the cap locks with a simple twist, and that the see through bottle allows you to see how much product is left effortlessly.
When I spray this I have to literally hold it at arms length, otherwise the spray is too heavy. I feel like in order to be more effective the mist needs to be finer. It smells okay - perhaps a little on the 'cleansing product' side scent wise, and I would prefer that it were lightly scented (think Anna Sui florals) or totally unscented if I'm spraying it on my face.
It seems to give makeup a nice finish and increase the staying power, but so do other, cheaper ones I've tried.
All in all, I'll happily use this up, and would consider buying this size at that price again, but there is absolutely no way, ever, I'd pay full price for a full size unless someone lets me in on the secret I'm clearly missing out on!
Tips: If you can get your hands on a smaller one, do so to try it out. I hope you do love it.... I seem to be in a teeny minority of those who don't!
I love MAC in general, and this is one of my favourite products! I use it as a primer, a setting spray, on my beauty blender and even if im not wearing makeup I use it just to hydrate. It's multi purpose which I love, and it's great on all skin types!
Tips: Use to moisten a beauty blender. To hydrate. Set makeup. Prime makeup.
I don't know how I used to walk out of the house and think my make up was looking good and on point before I purchased this spray. Now I can't leave the house without spraying this on my face! I feel like a powder ball without spritzing this on my face.
I never thought it would make the difference that it does to the appearance of my skin, it's honestly liquid gold in a bottle. It smells heavenly, the mist is so finely milled and fresh feeling on the skin but the best part of all is the way it makes your skin look. Honestly flawless. It soaks up every little bit of excess powder off of your skin and gives it the most beautiful dewy look. I think for what the product is and the brand MAC, $38nzd is such a great price for what it is and what it does. Flawless!
Tips: Don't spray this product too close too your face like the instructions state, I made the mistake of forgetting how far away to hold it from your face and I melted away all the powder on my face and it was dripping away hahaha worst mistake of my life! I have definitely learnt my lesson! 2-3 spritz for my whole face about 30 cms away from the face is perfect!
Love the packaging and the spray pump. Smells really good. I use this after I moisturise the face before pore filling etc and it does a great job of helping get the skin ready for makeup. I don't use this product after Iv done makeup as it wasn't made to prolong makeup wear. Yes it sets your powders but there are sprays like the bridal setting spray from skinidinavia that set your powders and makes your makeup last longer.
Love this as a pre spray before makeup for hydration on myself and clients, fresh, refreshing smell! Also great for getting rid of the cake look if too much powder is applied and can be used on a shadow brush to intensify pigment!
Tips: Do not spray too close to the face otherwise your face may drip in fix plus haha
This is by far my favourite makeup mist. I initially first tried the limited edition coconut scented one and my mind was blown. with every pump if was like spraying a little peice of tropical island on my face.
It comes in a very practical container, with a locking lid so as to not waste product in your makeup bag etc.
The regular one doesn't have a scent to me and the formula appears to be the same. I love to prime my face normally and let that sink in and then douse myself in fix+ and let that dry before applying my makeup. I just feel it adds some moisture and something for my makeup to hang onto.
I love this even more however for when my makeup application is done, I will spray liberally to make sure every surface of my face has been touched by the magical droplets. and any sign of cake face or excessive powder is gone, and it really makes my highlight Pop!.
in terms of making the makeup last longer I am not sure about but I have not noticed any difference with this and other makeup setting sprays that are actually meant to make your makeup last longer.
I also use fix + if I want to intensify eyeshadow or highlight- spray on the brush you are using and it will make it more opaque- or more shimmery. what ever the desired effect really.
This stuff is worth its weight in gold and I will continue to repurchase!
Tips: spray liberally after makeup application to get rid of any powders and especially if you want to blind people with your highlight!
I was really dubious about spending $80 on a spray that looked like water, but I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews, and decided to take the plunge.
I have almost finished the bottle now and I can really tell the difference when I do wear it to when I don't wear it.
It's not a fixing spray, but it does keep the skin fresh and moisturised so the makeup sits better and can be longer wearing.
I like to spray it after my foundation, but before my powder, and then again at the end of my application. I don't always notice an instant difference, but I do think my face looks generally brighter and more dewy. Also, towards the end of the day may makeup can start to go dry and a little patchy in my t-zone, but this helps to reduce that.
I love this stuff, it is refreshing and magical ;) I use this in so many ways, it is great for spraying down your brush before dipping it in shadow or pigment for insane colour pay off. Also great for spraying my face down after finishing my makeup to get rid of the powdery finish and makes it more dewy and non cakey and helps it last a little longer. But alone on bare skin or throughout the day when I have makeup on as a refresher it is amazing. Ive lost count how many I have purchased, I love this product!!
I brought this off a girl who didn't really like it. So i thought oh what the hell i'll give it a go. I LOVE it! My makeup lasted forever! makes me look glowey and flawless. when i go out i use it before primer (refreshes and makes my make up last that bit longer) and then again once i finish and a fan dry my face to ensure it dries nicely.
