Honey Tint BB Cream - Not enough coverage

I got this in the honey tint (The Bardot) as I much prefer a dewy finish over a matte finish (and powder can always be applied to dewy products to make them matte anyhow).

First of all I love all the natural ingredients in this product and have found it great on my sensitive skin. However, despite this it just didn't perform the way I hoped it would.

I found it gave hardly any coverage (my slight redness and dark under eye circles not covered at all) and found it felt weirdly sticky on my skin (I have dry skin so I usually don't experience this as my skin sucks up any moisture). I applied pressed mineral powder overtop to combat this sticky feel and it worked well but still just didn't provide enough coverage. Considering this is marketed as mid coverage I was highly disappointed as I found it was light coverage at best, just evening out my skin tone ever so slightly.

Overall. I would not repurchase this as my skin would need to be flawless for this to look great and if my skin was that flawless I wouldn't need such a product. Also considering its hefty price tag I expected great things. Sorry for the bad review as so many others seem to have had a great experience with this product. I really wanted to like this as I love a lot of the other Oasis Beauty products, but this one just missed the mark with me.

Light in Coverage and Staying Power

After reading so many rave reviews about this product I had high expectations, especially with being a higher-priced BB cream and being full of so many natural goodies. We all have different skin types and unfortunately Oasis' BB Cream wasn't for me.

I have oily, acne-prone skin that is more yellow-toned. I got a sample of the BB cream in The Bardot, which is for 'light-medium warm skin tones, mid coverage, dewy finish'. The formula itself felt quite thick in the sample pot, which I thought may lead it to having quite good coverage. I applied it with my fingers and found it really hard to blend this into my skin, it took quite awhile and when I was done I wasn't impressed with the result. The finish was definately dewy, but it provided hardly any coverage whatsoever, more like a tinted moisturiser. Regarding it's staying power, even when set with powder I found it didn't really last that long on my skin, looking like it was wearing off in sections. I also disliked how it felt upon my skin, very heavy like it was clogging my pores.

Unfortunately the colour was also completely wrong for my skin tone too, I could have been better off with The Hepburn maybe but The Bardot was far too light and pink-toned for my yellow-toned complexion.

This product seems to work for many people, it just wasn't right for me and I wouldn't repurchase. I would recommend this more for people with more cool/pink-toned colouring and dry/normal skin.

Tips: Make sure you obtain a sample of this before purchasing to see if it works for you, it seems like quite a hit or miss product.

Furry Face?!

I'm not an experienced BB cream user, but I know I won't be becoming one anytime soon. I tried a sample of this in the 'Monroe' and the colour and consistency looked nice and silky, and a bit like lightly whipped cream. The colour blended into my skin, but didn't seem to cover anything. No, unfortunately it just made my face look FURRY. :/ I'm happy each ingredient is chosen carefully for specific reasons to benefit your skin, because I hate unnatural products and my skin is fussy too. But, there's no way I'd want to buy this because my skin, blotchy and dry as it is, looked better without it. The price of a bottle of this is also not very cheap. My skin is very dry and sensitive, and has eczema, so I think this BB cream just stuck to the dry patches and made it look worse. I think if you had oilier skin this could work pretty good for you. But, if you have dry skin like me, you might end up with a 'furry' face, as my sister said it looked like.

Tips: Might not be for you if you have dry skin. If you are wanting good coverage, I don't know if this is the one to go for.

Hit and Miss, Mostly Miss

Gosh darn it I really wanted to like this! I am such a fan of Oasis and usually my skin reacts super favourably to their products. I keep giving this more and more benefit of the doubt but I'm nearing the bottom of the bottle and I still can't love it, or even like it.

Let's start with what I do like. I love the ethos of the company. Oasis tick all of my boxes, local, ethical, natural, animal friendly, checkity check check check. I also love the pump dispenser. This is my favourite packing for things like this because air is kept away, you don't contaminate the product with your grubby mitts, and you can tell at a glance how much is left.

I also on rare occasions can get this to look half decent on my face. Unfortunately there seems to be no rhyme or reason to these times and I can rarely duplicate the results.

The majority of the time this product is a wierd oliy hot mess on me that makes me look dirty. It's hard to work with - a primer is a MUST. I use a primer normally anyway but I don't like feeling like I HAVE to use a primer if you know what I mean. I end up spending a lot of time going over areas and blending and re-blending trying to find a balance between too much coverage (looking dirty) and having smeary streaky bits. To me a BB cream should be a quick and easy everyday product and if I wanted to spend this much time on my base I would use a foundation. Do not try to use this with your fingers for me it was beyond disastrous.

I'm using The Bardot which claims to suit most complexions. As I said before sometimes it looks perfect but most of the time it's too dark. And not in a normal way that a dark foundation would look. It's weird, it makes me look dirty like I've been gardening in windy weather. Admittedly I am really pale but I don't go in the sun and religiously wear sunscreen so at least I am consistently pale so I can't understand such different results each time. It's like I'm supposed to shake the product but given there's no air in it this isn't possible.

The most unforgivable part though? It settles in wrinkles I never knew I had and gives me big dark lines. Who knew my neck was so wrinkly??!! *runs to invest in decolletage cream*. After a few hours I look in the mirror and more often than not there are dark lines across my neck. No other product has caused this for me ever.

I find the finish to be super oily even though I have mostly dry skin and I think it may be contributing to my recent breakouts. Because of this it also runs and I can't trust it to stay in place. I think a powder would help but again for me BB cream should be about ease of use and not require all these additional steps.

Average

I got this in their mystery box sale in shade light and while it’s decent I’m not blown away. I’m not quite sure why it’s called full coverage foundation as I’d say it’s more of a light coverage. It’s very thick and can be difficult to blend as others have said. I do however like that it has added SPF.

Tips: I like to mix a dot of this in with their sunscreen to add a wee bit of colour.

Good coverage, but the shades a limited

I love the packaging of the BB cream, its hygienic and the amount that is dispensed is controlled. However, the 2 shades provided is very limited for pink undertoned skin. If you have yellow skin or neutral skin tones, this BB cream is probably not for you. The texture does get a little thick on combination/oil skin as well. I would say this is a medium coverage.

Tips: Use a finishing powder that will help with mattifying if you have combination.oily skin. There is actually nothing much you can do with the pink undertone shades if you have yellow undertone skin.

Honey tint - mid coverage, dewy finish.

Anyone who has read my Reviews will know that I am a sucker for anything dewy, glowy, or illuminated! This product appealed to me based on the fact that it claimed to have a dewy finish. I honestly have to say that I am not sold on this product.. I don't necessarily look for full coverage in products.. But I do need the dew! This product certainly wasn't dewy on my skin.. It did give a slight glow.. But seemed to be more powdery in finish which just highlights all the flaws on my skin.. I also believe that BB creams should wear and feel like a moisturizer with some added coverage.. This slides off easily and barely gives any coverage. I do have to commend Oasis on their coloring though.. I am quite pale and find BB creams are either Gothic white on me or oompa loompa orange.. Had this product have been dewy without the powdery finish enhancing my flaws I think I would have been pretty impressed and had a product to work with. Not for me but I can see why others are impressed with the color!

Tips: More powdery than dewy. More tinted than mid coverage.

Oasis B.B. Cream

Tried samples from website, the Monroe has good coverage for a BB cream, matte finish, no good for mature skin, tends to sink into any lines & wrinkles after a while, the other one I tried was the Bardot, lighter coverage & dewey finish, good for young & mature skin types, but if you want more coverage, use a concealer as well. Bit pricey but would last for ages as you only need to use a small amount.

BB monroe

when you first put it on your hand it looked way to dark for pale old me but it mixes really well with other make up and your skin to create a good covered look and doesnt highlight your pores as much as other BB creams do. It also was more matte which meant I wasnt as shiny as normal which was a nice surprise. It had a slightly odd smell as it was not scented but it was not off putting. I would say though that you do have to use quiet a bit to get full coverage as it is quiet thick and does need the help of other make up products. All in all i would say that yes it is a good product and does its job very well but is quiet expensive for the amount you have to use but its nice to treat yourself.

Not my favourite from the Oasis girls...

I Love Oasis beauty, their free samples policy, their values, and most if their products. I was so excited when they came out with a BB cream but unfortunately I didn't like this. I found the texture very sticky when applied and quite powdery - I almost had to drag it across my skin to work it in as it dried out so fast. I didn't find the shades particularly blendable (I tried Bardot and Monroe) and it tended to 'melt' off my face after a few hours of wear. I will not be using this again but they are an awesome company who I will continue to support.

Tips: Try mixing different shades to match to your skin.
