Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation Review

I was really looking forward to trying this. I was a little disappointed. Its OK.... but not amazing. Both my daughter and I have been using it as we have the same skin colour...that's where I'll start.. I have normal skin and my daughter has dry. On me it just feels greasy. I had to put powder over the top to try dry it off. On my daughter it was ok. Neither of us were impressed with the coverage. I have slightly pink cheeks, something my usual foundation covers....this didn't so again with powder over the top to cover it. It goes on really nicely. smooths out easily. Another bug bear is wherever you go that sells it, they don't have testers... it was hard to pick a colour and if anything it was a little light for me. I can't really comment on the making my skin better because I already have pretty good skin so I didn't notice improvements there. It did stay on quite well. Personally I won't be buying it...my usual foundation does me much better. But thanks for letting me try it!!!

Firstly, I was super happy to be chosen for the trial team. I'd been wanting to buy it since it came out but was skeptical because I've got a bad track record with choosing the wrong foundation!

I was absolutely stoked with this product! Honestly, it has to be one of the best I've used to date. Here's the pro's: I've been using about two pumps per application (so it's obviously going to be very long lasting) Plus, with only two pumps the coverage has been perfect! I also love the fresh scent and velvety texture! I do like the look of a little more than natural with medium - full coverage. It also glides on like nothing else! I've found in the past with foundations that have a heavy coverage it turns solid almost instantly and is hard to smooth on.

Now - 'better skin'?. Yes, and yes! I do truly believe that since using this foundation my skin has been given a lovely complexion and my blemishes have been disappearing ever since. I've also been given compliments on my skin in the past two weeks which doesn't happen often.

Staying power - No joke, this foundation stays on all day. I put it on fairly early before work (about 6.30am) and find when I get home (6pm) it is still on, it hasn't gone patchy or wiped off in areas. At most, it has gone slightly dewy from running around all day. Nothing that a dab of powder won't fix.

The great thing about Maybelline Better Skin is that you can use it as a day foundation that looks nice and natural or layer it up for a more dressy look.

I definitely recommend this product - in fact I have recommended it to about 4 friends already.

A very good foundation! I don't always wear layers of make up, usually just a foundation and powder kind of girl on a day to day basis and so a good foundation to me is important. I really like this foundation, to the point when my current one runs out I might just have to go get one of these instead. It made my skin feel great and was nice and light to wear..I didn't feel like I was caking it on my face.

I was so stoked to be chosen for this trial! I have porcelain skin naturally as I am a redhead, and my skin is quite sensitive, so some products can cause irritations and make my skin red and blotchy. Also, when I get pimples (which isn't that often, thankfully) they are VERY red and noticeable with my skin tone. For me, having pale skin makes it really hard to find foundation that looks natural on me. I got the shade Light Beige - the lightest option - and I am so glad I did! I have not seen that shade in ANY of the local stores like Farmers, The Warehouse, Countdown, or any pharmacies near where I live. This foundation comes in a bottle with a pump - yay! It goes on amazingly, and you don't need a huge amount to get to full coverage - I found I inly needed a pump and a half for my whole face! That means amazing value for money because it'll last longer! Like it promises, it is suitable for sensitive skin, I haven't had any problems with it at all; it evens out skin tones incredibly, and sooo glad that it has SPF in it, although it really doesn't feel like it, as it's not thick and greasy feeling like some SPF inclusive products can be. The days I have worn this foundation, I have seen a noticeable difference in my skins appearance because it looks flawlessly natural and amazing! And as for the "better skin"? My skin has been in so much better condition since using this - and I stopped using it for a few days to see if it really did make a difference, and since stopping using it, I've gotten a few breakouts, so definitely going back to it, it really does help to keep pimples and breakouts away!!!!

At first I noticed that there aren't that many shades to choose from, which is a bit unfortunate. They all seem to have a yellowish orange undertone that won't work for everyone. After using this product for a bit over a week I found that it was pretty average overall. It's decent for its price however it's staying power doesn't seem that much greater than other foundations. I felt that it applied nicely and sat well on my face while it lasted but after 5 or so hours it starts to look a little bit dry and cakey in texture. Overall it's not the best product out there but it works well if you're not after something that will last hours

great coverage and stays on for a good solid 8 hour working day with no touch ups needed. Does look a little heavy on the face but maybe as I'm used to mineral powders. Good colour match to skin tone

This foundation was good while it lasted. I found on my combination skin it slid around quite a lot and rubbed off on my nose after around 2 hours, so couldn't wear this for long without needing touch ups. I found if anything it actually made me break out more, nothing changed in my routine except this foundation. Texture was nice to apply and I was able to blend easily and it didn't dry too fast, just the right amount of time. This foundation also oxidised quite badly on my skin so again couldn't wear it for very long times, and I found I would have to layer up on a lighter powder and skip the bronzer when touching up. I did love the feel on my skin and the finish it gave and wish my skin liked this foundation too!

I was fortunately chosen to trial this product! As a lot of others, I was skeptical, would it really improve my skin? First of all I like the packaging, the pump is very convenient and gives out the perfect amount of foundation in a couple of pumps. The formulation is quite thick, and not normally what I would go for, it's medium-full coverage and applys smoothly. I also appreciate that it is SPF20. I have combination-oily skin and unfortunately for me, this foundation did not improve my skin and make it better as it claims. Lately I have not been breaking out, but when using this foundation the first time, within 4 hours I had bumps coming up around my jaw line. Regardless, I wore it for a total of 10 hours and it had slightly budged around my nose and cheeks. So as for staying power, it is brilliant for the price. bearing in mind I set it and used a primer. I continued to use this foundation for a full week and as time progressed it broke me out less. So perhaps my skin just needed to get use to it. Although the odd pimple still comes up. Overall at first I was unhappy with this product, but after using it for a couple of weeks I would wear this for special occasions as it is long wearing and full coverage. But it does not improve my skin.

I was chosen for the trial review on this product and after trying it, I was pleasantly surprised.

To me certain brand are known for certain stand out products. Maybelline has always been stand out for their mascara's but in my opinion have always missed the bar when coming to foundations that i have tried in comparison to other brands are the similar price bracket etc.

But when it came to trying the Superstay Better Skin, they have stepped up their game. It was a good creamy consistency, the coverage was medium but very build-able to full coverage.

I would give it about an 8/10 for staying power as I found that i did have a few faded patches towards the end of the day but nothing to major, my face hadn't melted off or anything :).

So all in all I found it to be a good all round foundation. Not to expensive and long lasting. I would purchase this myself :)
