Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation Review

I was so stoked to be chosen for this trial! I have porcelain skin naturally as I am a redhead, and my skin is quite sensitive, so some products can cause irritations and make my skin red and blotchy. Also, when I get pimples (which isn't that often, thankfully) they are VERY red and noticeable with my skin tone. For me, having pale skin makes it really hard to find foundation that looks natural on me. I got the shade Light Beige - the lightest option - and I am so glad I did! I have not seen that shade in ANY of the local stores like Farmers, The Warehouse, Countdown, or any pharmacies near where I live. This foundation comes in a bottle with a pump - yay! It goes on amazingly, and you don't need a huge amount to get to full coverage - I found I inly needed a pump and a half for my whole face! That means amazing value for money because it'll last longer! Like it promises, it is suitable for sensitive skin, I haven't had any problems with it at all; it evens out skin tones incredibly, and sooo glad that it has SPF in it, although it really doesn't feel like it, as it's not thick and greasy feeling like some SPF inclusive products can be. The days I have worn this foundation, I have seen a noticeable difference in my skins appearance because it looks flawlessly natural and amazing! And as for the "better skin"? My skin has been in so much better condition since using this - and I stopped using it for a few days to see if it really did make a difference, and since stopping using it, I've gotten a few breakouts, so definitely going back to it, it really does help to keep pimples and breakouts away!!!!

Firstly, I was super happy to be chosen for the trial team. I'd been wanting to buy it since it came out but was skeptical because I've got a bad track record with choosing the wrong foundation!

I was absolutely stoked with this product! Honestly, it has to be one of the best I've used to date. Here's the pro's: I've been using about two pumps per application (so it's obviously going to be very long lasting) Plus, with only two pumps the coverage has been perfect! I also love the fresh scent and velvety texture! I do like the look of a little more than natural with medium - full coverage. It also glides on like nothing else! I've found in the past with foundations that have a heavy coverage it turns solid almost instantly and is hard to smooth on.

Now - 'better skin'?. Yes, and yes! I do truly believe that since using this foundation my skin has been given a lovely complexion and my blemishes have been disappearing ever since. I've also been given compliments on my skin in the past two weeks which doesn't happen often.

Staying power - No joke, this foundation stays on all day. I put it on fairly early before work (about 6.30am) and find when I get home (6pm) it is still on, it hasn't gone patchy or wiped off in areas. At most, it has gone slightly dewy from running around all day. Nothing that a dab of powder won't fix.

The great thing about Maybelline Better Skin is that you can use it as a day foundation that looks nice and natural or layer it up for a more dressy look.

I definitely recommend this product - in fact I have recommended it to about 4 friends already.

This was my first time using a liquid foundation. I've only ever used a very light powder foundation.

I was surprised with how easy it was to get a nice thin, even coverage just with my fingers. The colour tone was perfect so it looked very natural. I've always been very conscious of how some foundations looked caked on. But with this product, it was good to be able to apply very little yet have it acheive exactly what I needed i.e. a natural looking foundation that evened out my often blotchy skin tone. It also gets very warm in my workplace so good to see that the foundation kept my skin tone even. Without it, my cheeks can get very flushed. With this product, I was able to look at least a lot cooler than I felt.

I can also vouch for the fact that there is little to no transfer which is great. In my job, I am often sleeping for 3 hours at a time, so I was pleased that none of the product was left on my pillow.

Overrall, I was very happy with this product and will continue to use it until it's finished.

I tested the claims on this foundation thoroughly and found it to be awful. First of all the shade names as you'd normally find them in a foundation line (e.g. Ivory being one of the lightest) were totally whack. One of the Beige shades would've been better suited for my skintone but I went with True Ivory which was very orangey. I have combination skin and this emphasized both my pores and my dry patches like CRAZY. I didn't find it hydrating, "flawless" and it sure as heck didn't last all day. I kept a close eye on my skin over the 3 weeks where I used it and nothing else and found it did absolutely nothing. Overall I thought it was a huge fail and would not repurchase it ever again.

I have a light skin tone and I have this in the shade ivory which is shade 10 I think. I have found this to be a good match for my skintone.

I have really liked using this foundation as it gives my skin good coverage without feeling too thick. It evens out my skin tone nicely while my page acne scars will still show through. The coverage is medium to high which is buildable.

This foundation is really easy to apply. The pump makes is easy to dispense product. I use one and a half pumps for my full face. The consistency is not too thick. I usually use a khabuki brush or beauty blender to apply.

I usually set my foundation with powder and I find it lasts all day without sliding. I have combination.l oily skin too. If I’m going out I’ll also use a setting spray.

Overall I have really liked this foundation and have already purchased another one as mine is empty.

I picked this foundation up on my recent trip to Europe and it caught my eye because of the SPF 20 which is so important for me in a summer foundation. Now that I'm back in NZ and its not sunny I'm still reaching for this foundation because I love the way it makes my skin look and the fact it stays looking that way all day! I haven't been touching up while I was in the hot europe sun and itsflawless finish stayed all day. The shade ivory matches my skin very well with not too much pink undertone and ive had no issues with oxidation (or darkening) during the day. 10/10 very impressed with the new one for Maybelline

The first time I used this foundation was to a funeral. As one does, there was a lot of hugs going around. Everytime I hugged someone I left a foundation mark on their shoulder. Very embarrassing. So doesn't stay on your face. However it does feel nice on my skin.

I've tried many foundations and some I liked some just disappointed but this one is fantastic. I received a sample in my weekly magazine and its fantastic. Superb coverage, non greasy. Glides on like silk. You don't need heaps for overall cover. I will be buying this product

My new favorite foundation, so happy I went out and bought it. This foundation stays flawless all day long, and doesn't make my skin greasy or dry, a nice thick consistency makes it easy to apply, I apply it with a sponge for an even application. The bottle is sleek and appealing to the eye, when on the shop shelf. It doesnt really have a scent. This foundation does exactly what it says its going to do, stays put for 24hrs (I slept with it on.... oops) but it was still there in the morning. I would recommend this to any of my friends. This will now be my everyday foundation.

My skin is on the oily side and I really struggle to find a foundation that lasts really well. After reading about this product it sounded amazing - a foundation that looks after and improves your skin, who wouldn't want that?

It was really easy to apply/work with and the coverage was fantastic. I loved the way it felt and found that it didn't weigh down my skin or leave me looking or feeling like I had a bunch of make-up on. The look and design of the bottle is great, easy to use and very appealing to look at. The SPF20 is definitely a bonus with summer coming up
