Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation Review

I won one of these from the giveaway Maybelline ran on their Facebook page. Unfortunately I selected the wrong shade (too light), but nonetheless, I did use it a few times just to trial it to see if it was worth a repurchase in a deeper shade.

For starters, it comes in a pump style dispenser so it's easy to control how much product you need. I found (after primer/BB base) that 2 pumps was ample product to give me a nice, even cover.

It's a very lightweight, super blendable cream that gave me a flawless, dewy finish. I would say it's medium to full coverage, depending on how you build it.

It wears well for an office work day, not really needing a touch up at all aside from a light pat with my powder to dull a bit of oily sheen around my nose/chin. (This is due to my skin type though, not the foundation formula).

I didn't use this long enough to make any judgment on the better skin claim, but based on my personal results from my limited use, I will most definitely be repurchasing this in the right shade for me.

I didn't get picked for this review but was in the warehouse yesterday and a maybelline rep was there, she matched up my color which was darker in the bottle but not on, it looked great and VERY natural, it is light and wears well and covers with out looking cakey, I really like it. It is extremely easy to apply and seems to last well, I didn't use primer, they also have a concealer but I haven't tried that yet. It would be excellent to wear every day. One pump seems to be enough to use so i think it will really last. I do need to use moisturiser first. Recommended

I brought this foundation after finding out about it on BR and reading the positive reviews. This is now my new staple everyday foundation not only does it have amazing coverage it really is long lasting ( it is even still on my face after all day at work and a gym workout).

I use a brush to apply this foundation to my face but as it is quite thick to avoid the streaky look I finish it off with my finger tips.

I have found I don't need concealer either. Really hoping the better skin in 3 weeks is true as well

I won this product on the maybelline Facebook page and omg I'm so happy that I did. I now use this foundation every day, it goes on like a liquid and drys quite like a matte. I use a brush to apply first then go over with a sponge to smooth the lines, as the foundation is quite thick it can leave lines with just a brush. The coverage is so amazing and it lasts all day long. The colour fits my skin tone perfectly. Love the shape of the bottle, the squirt top males it a lot easier to get the foundation out. I could rant about this product all day I just love it and would highly recommend it for a full coverage foundation. I can't wait to wear it over the summer for the all day coverage.

I usually use a powder foundayion as my skin can get very oily, so going back to a liquid foundation was different. During the day my skin felt oily and felt like I had makeup on and heavy on my skin. I chose the colour ivory so I could put bronzer on the top. It was a nice colour and looked ok in the morning but I dont think it gave a flawless finish. By the end of the day it looked like I had no foundation on and you could see my freckles. I think this foundation would be great for someone with clear complexion and a non oily complexion.

I received this a BR trial and I love it! I received it in the shade Golden, and for my NC42 skin tone it initially goes on a shade or 2 lighter, but I found that within an hour of application it oxidises to the perfect shade.

I surprising like the packaging, but the glass bottle is quite heavy for travelling. But the pump is great and gets the perfect amount of product - a little goes a long way.

I found the consistency of the foundation quite thick, but it applied smoothly and my skin didn't feel like I had any makeup on! I did find it took a while to buff into my skin with a brush - it was a bit streaky, so I may have to try using a sponge. I love the matte finish of the product too. I like to use a misting spray/ fix + to make it look more dewy for the warmer days.

The product has good coverage - medium, most imperfections were covered. I have been wearing this product for 14-15 hour days and found that it only faded around on nose.

I've only been using it for a week so far so I can't speak for it's improving skin feature. This product is well-worth the money and I think I will buy the shade up for summer!

I was super excited when I received this as BR trial! I'd seen it advertised everywhere and was keen to give it a go... and it did not disappoint!

The first thing I noticed was how sleek and sturdy the bottle is. It's really nice. The foundation comes out in a pump, and not too much at a time- in fact, one pump is enough to cover my face! This is great because I know it will last me quite a while! The first time I applied it I was immediately struck with how lightweight it felt. It's truly lovely, not too heavy, but still gave me complete coverage! The shade I use is Nude (021), and I was impressed with how well it matched my skin tone. As someone who has struggled finding a foundation that actually matches my skin, I was stoked, and it even covered all my redness quite easily! I found myself not having to use as much concealer, as any small spots or red patches were already covered- it's great! I was also seriously impressed with how well it lasted throughout the day- I was able to wear it on a (hot!) day, all through uni and then work, and it STILL stayed on!

But the biggest question is: did it give me 'Better Skin'? Well I've only worn it for a week, but my skin does already seem to be better hydrated and generally healthier looking. A few spots have still managed to pop up, but I have worn it on a very stressy/bad eating week, and normally my skin would be a lot worse!

So overall, I would highly recommend this product! It's great for everyday wear, not too expensive, and pretty much does what it says! My only negative is that it doesn't come in more shades for our lovely ladies of colour!

I've only been using the product a week, so I can't say if Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation's claim of giving me better skin in three weeks is true. However, Better Skin touts itself as a 'full coverage' foundation, and you can tell from the first swipe. This product will be my new go-to when my skin looks like dog meat - those days when I wake up and have a bright red zit on the end of my nose (like now), plus my ever-present sun spots. I applied Better Skin (in nude) and, whattdya know? The zit has vanished and sunspots are nearly invisible - without even using concealer (though I do, anyways, 'cause I'm compulsive like that). I appreciate a foundation with SPF 20 like Better Skin, since most I've seen are only SPF 15. One of the nice things about this foundation is its name - thanks, Maybelline for not calling it 'anti-aging' something-or-other.I'm not seeking to turn back the clock - only to achieve the appearance of better skin. Fait accompli (mission accomplished).

When I was chosen for this trial, I was a bit skeptical. Foundation that improves skin? Whatever.

I love how I set my expectations so low... I'm always proved wrong! Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation actually improved my skin over 2 weeks! I had less colouration in my patches of imperfections within a week! This definitely works - just remember to take it off thoroughly the moment you don't need it on your skin at the end of the day. But that's just common sense!

The foundation itself is smooth, creamy and covers up problem areas very well. I went quite a light shade because I had a habit of getting the wrong tone, and this tone was perfect! (Ivory)

Also the "Superstay" part - does it really stay? I'd give it a 8/10 for clinging onto my oily face. The top foundation so far that I haven't had to reapply - I only had to reapply my top powder in the afternoons if I was going out after work and not straight home.

So overall - very impressed with this! Not only did it improve my skin slowly but also lasted a lot longer than other foundations I've tried in the past. Even my friends were asking what I was using!

At first I noticed that there aren't that many shades to choose from, which is a bit unfortunate. They all seem to have a yellowish orange undertone that won't work for everyone. After using this product for a bit over a week I found that it was pretty average overall. It's decent for its price however it's staying power doesn't seem that much greater than other foundations. I felt that it applied nicely and sat well on my face while it lasted but after 5 or so hours it starts to look a little bit dry and cakey in texture. Overall it's not the best product out there but it works well if you're not after something that will last hours
