Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation for porcelain skin with neutral undertone. With an exceptional balance of high-quality ingredients, Skin Veil glides on in a thin layer, blending into the skin. A foundation that illuminates the skin without feeling or appearing like a mask.

To achieve a porcelain, even skintone. Skin Veil minerals diffuse light across the skin’s surface, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. ELLIS FAAS foundation incorporates moisturising ingredients which nourish and protect the skin.

Apply Skin Veil on the T-zone (forehead and nose) and fade outwards with the brush or fingertips to provide sufficient and natural-looking coverage. Within just a few minutes, Skin Veil becomes one with the skin. Apply a second layer for a more coverage.

Not for mineral sunscreen users

Oh I so wanted to love this! Rave reviews and the product is so nice to use. It’s a thicker cream style foundation, and lays down so smoothly when applying. I tried all application methods, brush, beauty blender and fingers. I found the fingers gave me a streaky finish, so I had to use a beauty blender to smooth it out. It looks absolutely stunning when first applied, BUT, within a few hours oh gosh what a hot mess! I have sensitive skin and absolutely can’t wear a chemical sunscreen so am doomed to use mineral sunscreen, and I have a several holy grail mineral options. Sadly no matter which one I use this foundation blotches out on all of them. Boohoo.

Tips: It is certainly stunning when used without sunscreen, and I suspect it would work better over a chemical sunscreen. Definitely suggest that the finger method can leave streaks so both brush and beauty blender are recommended.

EllisFaas Good Dewy Foundation But Not 4 Oily Skin

I have been using this foundation this winter and it blends on smoothly, it's hydrating, looks natural and gives a light to medium coverage and didn't emphasize fine lines. It didn't cause breakouts and when I had sensitive and dry skin it didn't irritate it. However, this foundation didn't seem to last more than a few hours on me, it my T-zone got greasy very quickly with the foundation separating around my nose, although the drier areas of my face held up longer. When I added more powder it seemed to look much thicker and a bit cakey on my face. I think this foundation would suit someone who wants, light to medium coverage and has more mature, dry skin but if you have oily or combination skin I would steer clear of this. I had fairly dry skin but not super dry skin and I had trouble getting it to stay in place. Plus, the price isn't in most people price range.

Tips: If you have oily skin this is not a good choice for you. However, if you have dry, more mature skin and are looking for light to light medium coverage and you've tried more affordable foundations and they didn't suit this might be an option. I find I get best results when I apply less to my face an add more in thinner layers. I don't get much coverage but the result is more natural and less cakey when I powder. Also when you moisturize your face prior to applying go for a lighter moisturizer. I used this during the winter and so I was using a thicker moisturizer, when I opted for serum emulsion underneath my primer I got better results in more wear time, more of a skin like finish and it didn't look cakey when I set my face with powder.

Perfect for dry skin

I was on the lookout for a new foundation heading in to summer and was originally going to get one in a darker shade than something I've already got.

The girl at the counter suggested I try Ellis Faas - which isn't a brand I'd come across. She tried a patch on my skin and let me go out in daylight to look at it in the mirror.

It was honestly invisible!!

The range of shades is quite good, there are red and yellow undertones to suit most people which is perfect. The formula is a little on the thicker side - almost like a cream but not quite thin enough to be a liquid foundation. I have light-medium skin and I was given shade S205 to try.

Applying it is really easy and it glides over the skin. I've got quite dry skin and I found that it didn't dry my skin during the day - if anything, I probably had to blot in a couple of places - but I don't mind that at all. It doesn't make your skin look oily, more like a really nice glow.

So for oily skin-people, I'd probably not recommend this as it might exaggerate the oiliness around your T-zone.

It lasts all day, I didn't need to reapply anywhere and it's a light-medium coverage so you can tone it down with a moisturiser no problem.

I was a bit put off by the price however. $130 is wicked steep but I reasoned with the fact that I really struggle to find foundations that don't irritate my skin or require constant touch-ups during the day.

A little goes a long, long way so I can make it last and I'll definitely get my moneys' worth.

Tips: Probably not ideal for those with oily skin.
