My BB miracle

I tried out the sensitive skin bb cream this morning and I was surprised by the coverage. A little went a long way too. I asked my partner if my skin looked different from before and he reckoned it looked 'better without being makeuppy'. I had another look in the mirror and could see what he meant, my skin looked brighter and my complexion seemed smoother and less red. By the afternoon my persistent dry patches started reemerging (thats still pretty good going for my dry sensitive skin), but only noticeable close up by evening. After a few days of using it I am noticing my sensitivity is increasing and it is beginning to sting within 5 minutes of applying and going away within about an hour if I can hack it. Hopefully this goes away and I am able to continue using it because I'm otherwise pleased with the results.

Garnier BB Cream Sensitive- Medium

Garnier BB Cream. So i have dry/sensitive skin, with redness on my checks. Love the thick and creamy consistency of the BB Cream but down fall would be the smell. I didn't like the smell of the BB Cream i received but the smell went after 5 minutes. Application was so easy, it blending out so smoothly and effortlessly. I applied with a sponge and also with a flat top brush. The coverage is sheer but you can build up for a little more coverage. It did cover my redness on my checks and also evened out my skin tone. Down fall was that it start to irritate my eyes, not sure why though. For me this BB Cream gave a dewy finish (which i liked). This product with primer only last around 4 to 5 hours. Packaging is a bit boring. For the price i differently worth it. Overall i would recommend this BB Cream.

Tips: Best applied with sponge or flat to brush. I feel with a flat to brush you get a dewy finish and can also build up coverage. With the sponge gives a more natural finish.

I like it a lot - but I don't love it

I'm a BB Cream freak - I've tried half a dozen of them in my quest for the ultimate "beauty balm" that can do everything that it claims to do.

Recently I found my "holy grail" BB cream and since then I haven't tried another. Until this little beauty showed up in my mail box! I chose the sensitive formula as I have very reactive skin and can develop rashes when I try new products that are overly perfumed or contain harsh ingredients. I'm also prone to breakouts and scarring so I wanted to choose a formula that wasn't going to aggravate my skin in any way.

First things first - the scent. This BB cream smells just like my Invisible Zinc tinted day cream sunblock. I'm assuming (I didn't read the ingredients on the box before I threw it away) that the sun protection in this product comes from zinc =) which is perfect as more often than not chemical sunscreens turn me into a rash covered swamp monster.

Seconly - the texture. This product is super smooth and creamy, it's not runny but it's not thick either. It's actually a beautiful consistency and it's very easy to spread and blend onto the skin. This is where the "I like it a lot but don't love it" comes into play for me. The fomula is a wee bit on the oily side. It doesn't feel oily but it can look oily on the skin. It is VERY moisturising and it doesn't absorb into my skin as much as I would like it to. It leaves a slight film on my face that doesn't disappear throughout the day which is very frustrating. In saying that though this doesn't mean that it's a bad product it just means that it's not suitable for my skin. I can imagine this being perfect for someone with dry skin who needs added moisture. It would be a great BB cream for winter especially if you're working outdoors as it has the benefits of moisture + sun protection!

It also doesn't cover as much as I would like it to, I have quite a bit of scarring around my mouth and along my jawline. I would put this in between a tinted moisturiser and a bb cream =) the colour match was also quite good, maybe a wee bit dark but it would be bang on if it was summer!

Tips: I think this would be perfect for dry skin in winter!

No miracles for dry skin but great for everday use

I have fair and very dry skin, so I trialed the Sensitive skin light tone BB cream. Dryness is a big issue for me so I was interested to see how this product would work for my skin as it was meant to be intensely hydrating and replace my regular moisturiser. Unfortunately, it wasn't the solution for me, making my dry skin more noticeable than usual, especially on my forehead. After the first few trials, I started applying the BB cream about half an hour after using my usual moisturiser and had a lot more success- I noticed my skin appeared significantly more even and helped to reduce the redness on my face. I also had no issues with sensitivity, which I usually get when trying out new products.

The cream itself is very smooth and is easy to apply, I just used my fingers and was able to get an even, sheer coverage with no problems at all. The scent of the SPF15 is very obvious, which I found a little offputting as I'm not a huge fan of that sunblock smell, but it's a good reassurance that my skin is being protected! When I was wearing just the cream, I found myself wanting to reapply it during the day, lasting around 4-6hours at most.

The squeeze tube of the packaging made it really easy to use and get out just the right amount, minimising wastage. It's not the prettiest packaging, but the simplicity of it gets the job done and it's a great size. It's good value for money too, it gives a great natural look really quickly and easily, and could be used instead of a primer or concealer. Also it's interesting to note that Vogue rated it among their top 10 BB creams, and it was the second cheapest!

Tips: If you have super dry skin like me, apply your regular moisturiser first, then wait a while before applying the BB cream. I found that using just this made my skin look horribly flaky, and applying it straight after my moisturiser meant I didn't get that lovely flawless coverage.

New Make Up Bag Staple!

I've heard a lot about BB creams and always thought they were like tinter moisturizer and never given them a go.

My first impression when I looked at this box to be very over whelming. It's got quite a lot of information on all 4 sides of the box. The tube is the prefect size to fit into your gym bag or make up bag without taking up too much room. I love the fast it's not a screw top lid.

I wanted to see if this lived up to what it really says it does, so wore it in place of my daily foundation.

I squeeze out a small amount in 3 equal portions to cover my face. The smell is strange but not over powering and doesn't last. It glides on silky smooth and coverage is light but build-able. Even though it has a light coverage it covers imperfections, those noticeable frown lines that stand out when looking work place bathroom mirror less visible. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't leave my skin shinny and didn't slide off leaving my skin looking tired and shiny.

This is my new go to and will be perfect when traveling.

Tips: If wanting to build cover, let it dry between applications.

Garnier BB cream sensitive

I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It's one BB cream that didn't disappoint me for a change. The consistency of the product is pretty thick, but it gives medium build able coverage. As I have sensitive skin myself I found this product doesn't irritate my skin, and reduces my redness a lot. It's the type of product that yo can wear on its own or under foundation for extra coverage. I have dry skin and this product stayed put for 4-5 hours without budging so I would recommend it for dry skin. For around $15 retail it's a bargain for the amount of product you get. The light shade was actually light unlike many other BB creams where the light shade is more of a medium. Highly recommend this and would repurchase in future.

Tips: Apply with your hands for the best finish

Garnier BB Cream

I tried the light bb cream but it was too dark for my skin tone because I am very fair. I gave it to my mum she really loved that it was very natural looking although it had a very shiny finish so she had to put a loose powder over the top.

Garnier BB Cream Sensitive

I was excited to use the BB cream as I have never used one before. The cream was thick when it came out but was very easy to apply and a little bit went along way. I have very sensitive skin but found this perfect for my skin, no reaction at all and also there was no smell so it didn't cause any problems with allergies. It has made my skin lovely and soft. The one thing that I didn't like about it was the coverage. I have very rosy cheeks, so I applied it twice but it didn't stay on for long so I had to wear foundation over it. I would you it again just for the fact that it makes my skin lovely and soft

Tips: Don't use it without foundation on top for rosy cheeks

Sensitive Skin Saviour

I have oily, acne prone skin that is also very sensitive but at the moment am on medication for the acne which has dried out my skin so I only need to treat the sensitive part topically. This product feel so nice on my dry, sensitive skin; it's cooling and my skin feels like it's drinking it in.

The product itself is very creamy, I have tried applying it with both my finger and a brush and must say I prefer my finger as it seems to warm ip the product and melt it into the skin. The coverage is quite light but is buildable to a light/medium coverage when using a brush.

I've used this product on its own but it doesn't have great staying power. It works nicely as a primer under my usual makeup routine and makes my skin dewy and moisturised before putting on my makeup.

All in all I do really like this product, the garnier bb for oily skin has more coverage and looks more like foundation on the skin, where this one is like a more pimented tinted moisturiser which is really what my skin need at the moment.

Tips: If you have dry skin this will work really nicely under your usual makeup routine t ensure your skin doesn't flake up during the day.

BB the perfect match?

I have never tried BB cream before, so was excited to try this! I have sensitive and combination skin. I find it hard to find a moisturiser for my face, as a lot of products cause inflammation easily. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I applied this BB cream that it didn't cause redness, swelling, breakouts, itchiness or splotchiness. However when i removed it, I noticed some redness in my cheeks (brighter and redder than usual and more spread out)- which usually occurs if I react to a product, so perhaps I did react to it as it was on my face the whole day. :( However, it was a mild reaction.

When I first applied this BB cream, I used my fingers with only moisturiser underneath. The consistency was quite creamy, not too thick or too thin and easy to spread. It felt smooth and light on my skin. I found the coverage to be light (which I tend to prefer)- it reduced the redness in my cheeks and evened out my skin tone, however didn't hide my blemishes. I don't really mind this, as I applied concealer under my eyes and over my blemishes. I also applied translucent powder over top to set it. The finish was really natural- mostly matte but a bit glowy which I quite liked. The second time I used this, I put primer underneath and used a stippling brush to apply. This made a difference, as my skin looked more glowy and more even, and I got a few compliments on my skin. I also found that I used less product to achieve the same amount of coverage. However, I found that after about 6 hours, my face started to look oily and the BB cream was beginning to wear off and I noticed some redness in my cheeks and a few dry spots. In saying that, lasting 6 hours is quite good as thats about how long (if not longer) my maybelline foundation lasts, and the oiliness could be fixed with powder to touch up.

I didn't mind the smell, it wasn't unpleasant. It smells quite similar to my other foundations. The scent is faint, once it was applied, I couldn't really smell it anymore. As far as pricing goes, I think the price is reasonable, as I found that it did the same job that my foundation does, if not better. I would say that its fairly worth the money. I didn't particularly like the brown colour of the packaging, the shade seems a bit dull and the words don't jump out at me. If I just saw the bottle on a stand I probably would walk past it, but that's just me personally. However, I like how it fits comfortably into my hand and is easy to squeeze out the right amount.

Overall, I found this BB cream to reduce the redness in my cheeks, even out my skin tone and hydrate my skin. It matched my skin colour really well, making it look slightly glowy and more flawless. However it didn't correct my blemishes (but I would have used concealer anyway) and I didn't really notice a soothing effect. My skin didn't react to this straight away, but when I removed it, it left my skin red and a bit blotchy, indicating some sort of reaction over the course of the day.

Tips: Use primer underneath, as I found I used less product and it went on more smoothly, compared to without. Also, using a stippling brush gave a more flawless finish and was easier to apply. If wearing for long periods of time, I would recommend touching up with powder, as it can become oily.
