One of the better products out there

I like OPI, love their colour selection and the texture of the nail polish... for me it seems to be thicker and richer than other products. It just glides over the nail and doesn't come out blotchy and streaky like other products do too. It also isn't so runny that it's basically water and looks like a 2 year old applied it because its gone all over your fingers.

My only issue with this product is that it doesn't last longer than 3 days tops on my nails and thats if I'm extremely careful and don't do a lot.

Still use it? Would i recommend it to others?.... I still get OPI nail polish and I do recommend it to others because I still find it better that other nail polish products... also, the colour choices are just amazing.

They also currently sell them at the Makeup Clearance store (e.g., one store is located in Newmarket, Auck and they also have an online site) for around $8.50 I believe which is great and I believe the store also has regular sales on nail polish products.

mostly good

in my experience opi can be a little bit hit and miss, most of their nail polishes are pretty good, with a few duds, I have also noticed that they go a bit thick and gloopy if they have been sitting around for too long, whereas some of my cheaper nail polishes don't do this. but mostly the colours are great the texture is thick and easy to apply. and the formula holds up well whilst being opaque on the first try.

Yes I agree. The actual polish itself does not keep long and gets gloopy and unusable very quickly compared to others.

First Class Desires

I have recently started gettng into nail polish and have started up a wee collection. And I can proudly say amongst my collection I have a beautiful OPI nail polish in the shade First Class Desires. I picked it up from postie plus for about $10 which I thought was a huge bargain.

It's a beautiful dark purple with shimmery gold specks. It applies absolutely flawlessly. I only need one coat to get my desired look as the pigmentation of this OPI nail polish is incredible! It applies evenly so there's no need to reapply in areas to cover any streakyness.

I find that it dries fairly quickly, compared to my cheap nasty nail polishes so you don't have to sit around for ages waiting for it to dry. We all know how boring and time consuming that can be so it's awesome not to have that problem with this OPI nail polish.

It does last a decent amount of time on my nails especially if I apply a base coat and a top coat. It will start to chip around day 5/6 but that's to be expected and it doesn't bother me too much. On my toes however, it can last upto 2/3 weeks which I find completely odd, perhaps it's because we're constantly using our hands? I'm not too sure but the staying power is rather impressive.

I woule really love to expand my OPI collection as I am thoroughly impressed with my first ever shade. They have such a huge variety of colours which is really awesome to see. There's shades for everyones personal preference, wether you like pastels, glitters, bolds, they pretty much have it all.

Fantastic colour range!

What I love about OPI nail polishes is the huge variety of colours they come in and their fun limited editions. They give a full colour pay off with just one or two coats (for darker colours) The brush is wide enough to make a full nail application with just three swipes.

Sadly I have yet to meet an non-gel nail polish that doesn't chip on me as soon as I look at it. OPI is one of the better ones though and lasts forever on my toe nails.

What's no so great is that these polishes don't seem to store as well as other brands and go thick and gloopy fairly quickly or dry up altogether. For this reason I prefer the minis that you get in the limited edition gift sets. These have teeny brushes though so are a bit trickier to apply.

Perfect Red for my skintone.

About year back I got the shade call "Malaga wine" from life pharmacy Queensgate. They had some kind of sale so it cost me 17.99$ bottle. That time I got it very expensive but now a days you can get cheaper from some online websites or countdown when they have some special.

Walaga wine is perfect red for my skintone. I am tan skin lady so very hard to get some nail colour which suites on me perfectly. I was looking not bright, not dull like red brownish colour. I got right one that why I like OPI brand they have huge collection for every skintone.

Bottle is simple, classic like all OPI bottle. And nail polish brush is not thin and thick, it's just perfect for nail and bristles are soft and nice. If I am talking about colour consistency then it is perfect. You need just two coats to get perfect colour. Some nail polish colour consistency is very thin so you need to apply more then three coats to get perfect colour. To be honest I can't wait to long to dry each coat. Also OPI nail polish dry quick but not super quick. But better than other nail polish which I already used in future.

It is last upto 5 day on my nails without topcoat but if I use topcoat than its up to one week. Which is standard time. If you expecting to long, it's wouldn't possible for normal nail polish. If you buy big brand like Chanel, Doir or Mac they have same longevity so we can't expect more the one week, are we? Would I buy in future? Definetly yes. Huge colour range, good quality so why not.

Tips: Use base coat to prevent stain nail from dark nail polish.

OPI Nail Lacquer

OPI would be one of my favourite nail polish brands, but I also only get OPI nail polishes in colours I'll wear all the time for because they aren't the cheapest and also because the nail polish goes a bit gloopy and doesn't apply well after a while.

This nail polish when applied goes on nice and pigmented so I often only do one coat which is a great time and product saver. I do like to use a top and bottom coat as well though.

The nail polsih dries reasonably quickly and then last about as well as a nail polish can be expected to. On me nail polishes like this can last up to a week in contrast to cheaper brands which last around 3-4 days.

These are great nail polishes, but I think brands like China Glaze are giving them a run for their money.

OPI nail fan

I have been using OPI nails polishes for as long as I can remember. The brand has one of the best varieties of shades and finishes making them appeal to must nail polish lovers.

One of my favourite colours at the moment is the shade Elephantastic pink. This is a beautiful carnation pink shade with a creamy finish to it. It’s a very girly pink and I think it’s fantastic for summer months. I normally need two-three costs as it’s consistency is on the medium- thin side, and it is quite sheer.

Regardless of the shade my experience with OPI is they all go on smoothy and dry relatively quickly. I typically get between 5-7 days with their nail polishes. I tend to use a top cost otherwise it is usually only 3 days before I get chips. However I have short nail beds and the condition of my nails is not fantastic, so I am prone to peeling and chipping of polish regardless. so in my opinion these do last well

They are expensive compared to some other nail polishes on the market but I buy them when they are on special so not really an issue.

OPI - the Brand Taking Over My Polish Collection

OPI - the Brand Taking Over My Polish Collection

I used to go for el cheapo polishes because I didn't want to spend big bucks on a color since it's really difficult to pan off a polish so I would only splurge on nail treatments, base and top coats. Then I started buying some second hand beauty products and discovered what a quality polish is like. It's like your manicure lasting longer, the polish is easier to work with, it's less streaky and needs fewer coats. I used to not thing twice about higher end brands but now when I see second hand Opi polish I don't scroll past it, I look up swatches online. I currently have five colors in my collection and more on the way:

- Tickle My France-y - A cream finish nude mauve. I was thrilled when I saw swatches of this online this was very close to the sort of nude I was looking for.

- Chic From Ears to Tail - A cream finish cool toned light candy pink. This one was a tad streaky but it was easy to even out.

- I Lilly Love You - A clear pink with loads of mostly pink and gold iridescent glitter. I think compared to some other glitter polishes this one is packed with glitter. I use this one over a dark polish and it looks amazing. I'm not a big fan of glitter but if I'm doing a dark color manicure. I'll paint this over the nail I want to be a feature nail.

- Louvre Me Louvre Me Not - A stunning warm red toned purple with a shimmery finish. I love this shade I'm not big on shimmer at the moment but I was sucked in by this color. It's warm toned which suits my skintone but I think it would be gorgeous on any skin color.

Russian Navy - A really dark blackish navy blue with a bit of purple shimmer. This is a really good back ground color for galaxy nails. I bought this because I wanted a really dark color and I had worn black before didn't think it suited me so I use this as an alternative. Looks great on short nails or my toenails.

I have found that some color apply a tad more streaky than others but two coats is enough for good opacity. And even the second hand polish shades that have gotten a bit of use still have a good consistency in comparison to that ones I have that haven't been used at all. The cons of OPI is the price. I want more but adding brand new colors to my collection is expensive. This polish does have good wear time. I cook and wash dishes but I get about 3-4 days before I get chipping. The only reason why I haven't given this more smooches is because I have discovered another brand which lasts much longer on my nails than OPI - Zoya. And while OPI is 3-free, Zoya is 5-free. Despite that I think my OPI collection of polishes will only increase.

Tips: Put a bit of vaseline around the rim of your polish bottle where you screw the top on as that will help keep polish from drying around the top and making the lid stick. I also found these a bit cheaper at Posties than at other retail outlets but the downside is the color selection is more limited at posties.
