Revitanail by Manicare Nail Strengthener Review

I got this in the recent vault with high expectations on my mind. I have tried other Revitanail products and found that they worked well. I have very brittle nails that flake and split if you just look at them wrong. I am on a mission to make them the healthiest they can be, hence why this found its way in to my cart.

When I received it I was blown away with how big the bottle was. It would be two nail polish bottles in one go, value plus! It looks just like clear polish which suits me perfectly. I shy away from polishes at times because of the wear and chipping making them look ragged and gross. For this reason clear is my friend!

The brush for me is a little too thin. It takes a good five swipes to get the whole nail. It says coat twice on first day then every day for five days. This to me is no time at all so I hope it works that fast. The consistency is just like clear polish maybe crossed with a serum. It smells strong like a polish and can give me a headache if I don't sit in an aired room. It glides on with no bubbles or trouble making it look sleek and perfect.

My nails now look like I buff them. They are shiny, stronger and look great. This all sounds well and good until it comes to the time factor. The five days came and went with no real huge impact on my nails. In that time I broke two nails right off by just making my bed. Ten days came and that is when I noticed the difference, They didn't flake, they no longer split or break. I did find the amount of time a tad ridiculous though considering it said 5 days. I can kinda see why you need to reapply everyday though, it chips! Lucky for me it's clear and not noticeable but I need to know they are looking good.

In conclusion, this is good but not great. It did what it was supposed to but not in the time frame specified. My nails very quickly became fragile after a couple of days though. So in all honesty for them to maintain strength I would have to have this on my nails at all times it seems. No thanks, I like pretty nails too.

This nail strengthener goes on just like clear nail polish. After a few coats, my nails do look really good. You do need to add a new coat everyday or there is a tendency for it to start flaking.

I'm not sure if my actual nails are stronger, but my nails look great after a week of treatment.

The first week I had mid-length/long nails so they were still soft. My nails bent while trying to pry the lid off a container. However, the area between the nail wall and smile line on my thumb nail is my weakest point. It would crack, no matter the length and then it would tear. It happened as usual, but with the Revitanail, it smoothed it down and I was able to continue grow out the nail with no issues.

The product was easy to apply with a standard nail brush. Formula was not sticky or too runny. It smelt like normal nail polish. It does mention it contains formaldehyde, however many nail polishes do. If you are allergic to formaldehyde, then I would not suggest you use this.

The only negative is that you do need to apply this religiously daily for three weeks. This means you can't wear nail polish for each program. However, it does have a nice shine to it, but not too shiny.

Overall, I do think it has strengthened my nails by the end of the program. Although my nails are shorter, the same container I attempted to pry open did not bend my nails at all. Moments like quickly catching a box because but the lid wasn't snapped on properly, you can easily bend your nail backwards, occurs occasionally. I had one of those moments and surprisingly, it didn't bend at all.

But then... I dunno. I "bought" this in a BR vault, and I was excited. Upon arrival I exclaimed holy S(#&! because of how big the bottle was, I was expecting a tiny bottle!

The instructions say to apply 2 coats and the a single coat for 5 days following, and then the day after to remove it all and start again. It tells you to do this for 3 more times, so a solid month. It then says don't use it for 2 weeks, so I did that. I must confess, I did 3 weeks of treatment, and got new nail polish so I *may* have given up.

However. During the first week I was seeing improvements. I really liked it! Come the third week and I was getting annoyed, as my nails were peeling still, or they had started again. So I'm not sure if this product caused that, or me stopping the treatment caused that. Either way, I'm a bit wary to use it again.

I do like the fact that the bottle is huge, for the 3 weeks I was using it, I got to the bottom of the word Revitanail, so that's good value. I also LOVE the brush, it reaches the bottom of the bottle and is easy to use, and apply the polish.

I don't think I would repurchase as the price isn't something I'm comfortable paying especially when I'm not sure if it works 100%, but I'm glad the vault had it for me to try :-)

I was a part of the BR review trial for this product. Product came in sleek black packaging with red detail. Looked very smart. I took part in the 4 week nail challenge and got a mixed result I wasn't expecting.

As per directions, for the first day you would apply two coats of this strengthener. For the subsequent day 2, day 3, day 4, day 5, day 6 one coat. On day 7 remove with nail polish remover and repeat process again for 4 weeks.

Week 1:Nails were brittle and peeling. Was longer in length. Had one nail break. Week 2:Nails actually looked worse than what I had started with. Broke 2 and a half nails. Week 3:Nails are longer, only had one nail break this week. Week 4:Am surprised to say that nails look alot healthier and peeling/splitting has reduced about 90%. Nails are long. Still a bit bendy but pretty good.

I don't know why my nails appeared worse at the two week mark but am pleased to say that the end result is quite pleasing. 4 weeks is a bit of process but nothing happens overnight. I would recommend this product if your nails are damaged and are in need of a bit of love and repair.

Pros: Dries really fast; nails always look shiny

Cons: A really long process -two coats at first, then a coat every day for 7 days, remove, repeat, remove, repeat.... for 28 days. It really had to become a part of my routine to paint my nails each day!!

My nails feel harder with the polish on, but can't say I've noticed all that much difference in strength over the month long process. They still split when they grow past the finger tip!

Also quite difficult to remove with standard nail polish remover (that is probably why they sell their own remover....)

An interesting experiment but not sure I'd pay the $40 for a bottle - may as well have just worn a standard base/top coat or gotten shellacs!

Edit: i take it back! A week later and my nails feel so much stronger - I spent a day putting 70 certificates into wooden frames and had hardly any damage to my nails from using them to lift the metal tabs! Perhaps it just takes a few days post-process for the strong feeling to become obvious? They sure feel solid now!

I got this in the beauty vault ages ago and tried really really hard to like it. I had read some awesome reviews about it and had really hoped that this would be the nail strengthener that would fix my nails for once and for all. Spoiler alert: it didn't.

When I first got this I was seriously impressed by the size of the bottle, it's huge! A normal nail polish is around 15ml, this is double the size of that. The brush is long but slightly thin. I prefer wider brushes with more bristles that only need one or two swipes to cover the whole nail. The consistency though is really good. Slightly on the thin side but that makes it perfect as a basecoat or top coat.

I wore this on its own for a few week, adding a new coat every two days or so and removing the whole lot every 10 days to start over. At first it seemed that my nails were growing a bit better and had less peeling. But thinking back I'm not sure if that's a placebo effect. When I decided to go bare nails though I noticed that nope my nails still chipped and peeled.

Another thing is that after a few days this turned from clear to yellowish. So the whites of my nails would look yellow because of the polish on top.

Now I just use it as a basecoat and topcoat because I still have about 80% left of it and don't want it to go to waste. I mean considering the price and the volume it's not too bad? It's not a crappy topcoat but doesn't really strengthen.

I’m pretty much at the end of my 28 day trial now and I’m still unsure as to how I feel about this product. Most of my nails are in the best state they’ve been in in quite some time and I definitely have gained quite a bit of length in some nails too. I love how shiney and healthy this polish makes my nails look! Its easy to apply, doesn’t smell and it dries so quick which is a huge bonus for me. I notice that towards the end of the 7 days my polish starts to sort of crack and peel away at the sides, I’m not too sure if this is something to do with the polish or if it’s the way I am applying it? When removig on the 7th day, my nails have generally been feeling pretty good and not as bendy as usual, however I am still getting quite a few splits in nails. So I’m a bit 50/50 on this product at the moment, but am keen to have a rest and then try again. Having healthy looking nails ha definitely inspired me to try and look after them a bit more.

I received this as part of a trial which I was very happy to be on since my nails had been weak and splitting. I believe this retails for around $30 at Farmers. The treatment requires about a one month commitment and you will need to apply it daily with removal and reapplication a few times throughout the treatment time. I started with trimmed and filed nails on both hands in order to remove the splitting that was happening at the top of my nail.

First, the packaging is quite nice. It comes in It's own little box and I was expecting the bottle to be about the size of an average nail polish bottle but it was actually quite a bit bigger which was a nice surprise. The bottle is square shaped and has the typical applicator brush. The brush is a high quality one which makes it very easy to apply the product very smoothly.

Second, the formula itself is a nice consistency - not too thick or not too thin. It's a clear polish which actually makes your nails look really nice which is another bonus. i thought that after a few coats it would start to look really thick on your nails bit it doesn't at all. This stuff smells very strong and I found it a lot stronger than most regular polishes. It dries very quickly so you can go on with your day in just a few minutes.

Did it work for me? Kind of. It definitely made my nails grow faster and stronger. By the last day I could feel that they wouldn't bend or break at the tips which was great. Unfortunately my nail beds looked quite dry at the end of the treatment and some of my nails are actually flaking now. Perhaps the formula just didn't suit me so I wouldn't let this deter others from trying if when your nails need some attention. I personally found the length of time that it took for this treatment a bit too long but others may not. I'm undecided on whether I would use it again basically because the pros and cons are pretty much equal in my case. If you have really weak nails though I would definitely give it a try.

I received a full size bottle of product to review and was hoping it would be the holy grail for nails, mine are really soft, they split and break and I cannot grow them more than a few millimetres so I had high hopes for this. It's quite a commitment, 2 coats on the first day then a coat a day for 5 more days, take it all off and repeat for a total of 28 days. Although my nails felt stronger with the product on and I like the shine it gives, I didn't notice any faster growth and still suffered with splits and breaks but not as many as before using this. I will continue to use it in the hope that with more time I will see an improvement and as it's a big 30mls it will last for ages.
